weenancyinAmerica Ancestry are always fiddling with the site. I wish they would do some useful things - I would like to get rid of the 'hints' which are blank when you click on them. I currently have 7 which annoy me out of all proportion - they have said for years they are sorting it. They need to differentiate between hints that are actually records and the hundreds that are just links to someone's index and they need to develop a way of highlighting anomalies in the many thousands of poorly researched trees on their site. eg Died 1827 but had a child born 1837. Rant over. I reduced my membership to UK and Ireland this year as it is so expensive and I rarely use overseas. I keep all my documents and records on Family Tree Maker which I have used for years but it is not linked to Ancestry. I have purchased an extension so I can see FTM on my phone and tablet. I also have copies of everything I have bought or downloaded over last 40 years or so on my computer in labelled folders.
Got up and moved a few bits from DGD4's old room. Radiator and door need another coat of paint in new room. Plan to use rug in new study did not work as it catches on garage door no matter which way I put it. Fire door and draught proofed so don't want to alter door. Used washable mat which is in porch and have devised a further move round plan with the other mats. (I don't get out much)
1601 Curtains hung in new bedroom and blinds put back.
1602 General rubbish out including packaging from new curtains, bed covers etc
1603 Two more letters of alphabet checked in family history
1604-1608 Five bags to CS shop - some heavy stuff still in car as I had to park too far away to carry
1609 Six egg boxes returned to Farm Shop, dozen eggs purchased and Christmas order form picked up
1610 Temporary rug on study floor.
1611 Frog dealt with on line
As light seems to be better now I will wash floor in new bedroom and see where there is paint to get up.

I woke up early even though I could have had a lie in with the clocks going back. I am expecting two parcels from Amazon, some fabric dye and some flavoured coffee, so I thought I may as well get up. I was sad to read about Matthew Perry. I bought his memoir around this time last year when it came out and thought it was very honest.
I have been on a bit of a spending spree this week. A charity shop has reopened after being refurbished and I bought quite a few new items for me and some for my husband. I went there three times this week as they really have some good bargains there! I don't need to buy any clothes for a while now.
I bought a white Levis jacket from the shop which did look a bit stained. I did try to wash it, but it didn't look much better so I decided to dye it instead. I will do that when the fabric dye arrives today. I will post a before and after pic.
We are going away for a few days next week so I need to use up all the fresh stuff we have today and tomorrow. Bananas, tomatoes, carrots and lettuce. Salads and smoothies for the next two days.
I should go through both our wardrobes again too as I probably could get rid of a few things now. I will do that after my shower.
I did declutter some paperwork this week. I am going to give my brother the book I just read when I see him this coming week. I am going to carry on with the free book I got and try to finish it or just put it in at the little free library near me as it wasn't really grabbing me when I started it.

Hi all, quick post before I head out to the footy. I am still carrying this cold/ virus thing which is energy draining but not bad enough to justify putting me to bed so I have had bursts of doing things followed by slumping on the couch.
Thursday was a bit hectic but managed to be up early to take a friend to the airport. She lives about 30 miles away and brought her car to us and I then took her as we are about 10 mins from the airport. Luckily except in odd times the flight paths are over the river so rarely bothered by the noise from aircraft, plus they are not allowed to fly at night. My sister used to live near Heathrow and I remember the plane noise being almost constant with a plane every minute landing and taking off, jumbos every 4 minutes.
When I got home I just had time to check my emails before I headed out for the delayed coffee with a couple of friends. One has recently lost her Mum who she shared a house with as she was her carer and has also sold her property in spain and has had her things from there shipped home so has a house full of boxes and furniture to sort as well as dealing with her Mum's things and is in overwhelm mode. I have offered to help with anything she needs when she is emotionally able to deal with things.
The coffee lasted quite a while so by the time I got home I barely had time to sort tea before I headed out for the footy, luckily OH was out with colleagues so just had a quick meal.
Friday I was knackered and did very little but I did get a call about the currency which had come so I was able to go and collect that and then went to the sm where the staff at their currency kiosk had been trying daily to get it for me. I thanked them for trying to sort it but told them I no longer needed it. I think they were a bit upset they hadn't been able to help but I did thank them for trying. When OH got home it was suggested we go out for tea so we did, just the local carvery but nice.
Saturday we had decided to go to the cinema. We have a friend who regularly gets us vouchers for birthdays. OH's birthday is in July while mine is September so I always know in July what my present is. The problem is she buys them at the same time so I have a reduced time to spend it and have lost out because of this. This year she bought us cinema vouchers so we were determined to use them. Unfortunately the cinema was a good 45 minute drive away so by the time OH was home we had to set off straight away, we thought we would pick up something to eat before the film but the local places were rammed with it being half term so we decided to pick up something in the cinema. The only veggie thing they had was nachos so I had them, OH had 2 hot dogsbut between the food and film tickets we managed to spend both vouchers
The clock change has confused me with half the clocks changing automatically and half needing to be done manually but I think I have sorted them all this morning except the one in my car which will take me ages to sort as I keep forgetting how to do it.
In between times I have emptied the bedroom bin and the bathroom bin, sorted 2 LDFPA, sorted through OH's pile in the corner searching for something, which I found, but lots of rubble in the bin so lr bin emptied.
Right off to the footy again today so I had better get weaving, hugs to anybody who would like one
1428 bedroom bin emptied
1428 bathroom bin emptied
1429 lr bin emptied
1430 currency collected
1431 + 1432 LDFPA

1434 Halloween treats sorted for when the kids start knocking
Take care everyone

Morning All,
hope you have taken advantage of the extra hour in a way that suits you.
Have had some success this week with oddments going out. UU various food and medical & toiletries all making some small spaces available and tidying up. 5 jigsaws passed onto lovely neighbour that came from parents house. UU UPF food item that we won't be purchasing again as we are working on reducing this type of food for health, money & ethical reasons. All work in progress
Frog sorted paperwork and posted out via post office staff debacle, I didn't stress. Moved out a large chunk of OOD paperwork that is now sat in the hearth ready to be used as fire lighter fodder (due to it being winter instead of recycled).
Found 5 BN marker pens that didn't work from parents stash in the process of sorting frog - binned. Numerous gel pens and writing pens checked and definitely could not get them to work. So the pot holding them is now half empty and bugging me to make a better place for them to live. Note book finally used up. Managed to avert a clutter addition as did a stock check and 2 items are already sat waiting to be collected from under the sink to be moved into the "in use" section
2 Scratters xx

Liverpool Anne - having bother with clocks too. Bedroom one I thought would do automatically hasn’t (and led me to rush out of bed too early) and boiler which I am sure has always been done manually seems to have done itself this time.
Washing machine making a horrible noise. At 17 months old it is out of warranty. Will have a look at the manual later - OH has taken a load of bedding up to DSis as we need to keep on top of it this week. With our packing all over the place we have no space for dirty laundry.
Sorted some old papers yesterday and got rid of several. OH talked me out of getting rid of a load of clothes this morning - they don’t fit because of stomach bloating and we are trying to solve that problem. It has improved recently but I need to chase up the hospital (different hospital/department from where I am going next weekend) as it’s been 2 years of going around in circles.
So, still plodding along, using up more food items and getting rid of things as I go along.Decluttering Awards: 🏅🏅14 -
@TC77 can you find the manual online? If so, stop looking for the manual and just sell the machine.Are you wombling, too, in '22? € 58,96 = £ 52.09Wombling in Restrictive Times (2021) € 2.138,82 = £ 1,813.15Wombabeluba 2020! € 453,22 = £ 403.842019's wi-wa-wombles € 2.244,20 = £ 1,909.46Wombling to wealth 2018 € 972,97 = £ 879.54Still a womble 2017 #25 € 7.116,68 = £ 6,309.50Wombling Free 2016 #2 € 3.484,31 = £ 3,104.5914

No decluttering for a bit, am home from hospital and recovering well from surgery. Relative who drove me home commented that the house looked better and asked if I'd been decluttering so that was good! I cant do much for the next few days but its a relief to be home.Magnolia Stellata16

Stellata wishing you a quick recovery from the surgery... how great your relative noticed and hope you just focus on recovery.
Siebrie - you are very sensible, however, I have put the machine away and have original instructions so will see if they appear , if not, will get them online although I think they identified the model no!
@Fizz I agree not alot. I take all these minimalist blogs with a pinch of salt. One took about only having 100 items but then turns out she is travelling non-stop so no-one would take more than this if moving countries and clearly not taking bedding, and cooking stuff.
Sold whisk parts from a vintage mixer which had lost its handle (still works) but noticed base is cracked so sending off parts and tip for the rest.14
