Morning All, I never think to dye things that's a good idea to revamp faded clothing.
Having a few side effects to my covid jab I received yesterday. Mainly aches, chills and an awful headache. Good job I'm on leave today and can take it easier.
Another motivation to tidy up/declutter, Mama Fizz is visiting at the weekend.

Another one who has had no bother with dying in the machine. TC77 if you think the pillowcases won't stand up to the machine remember theres the cold water dye capsules as well. I've done loads of dyeing with them in a bucket and it's always been very successful.

Home on my own all day yesterday and only remembered about clocks at 4pm when I realised it wasn't 5. Woke up at silly o'clock this morning. Invite to DGS2's 18th birthday lunch out next Sunday. Looked up trains and there are none for engineering works so I will have to drive. DGD4 is coming with me. Spent a couple of hours finding baby pictures of birthday boy for DIL.
1612 Bedroom floor cleaned up - hard work as I have to bend down as I can't kneel on wooden floor
1613 Bedroom door painted
1614 Photos found and in envelope to post this morning - some items leaving from my 7 unsorted boxes. The boxes are 'like with like' so they were easy to find.
1615 First week of November cards written ready to post today
1616 Stuff from empty bedroom all on dining room table for DGD4 to sort out for her new room. Then we need to sort bedroom 3 for her brother. Loads of tat binned.
1617 Ironed new bedcovers and school shirts - I need a new board cover as this one is mouldy. Will measure it now so I know the size (done)
1618 Concert ticket money in envelope to drop off at school when I go out
1619 Booked place on zoom talk next week
1620 Swimming pool three quarters emptied - one last push and we can dry it out and put away in new garden store. Very pleased to note that store has stayed bone dry inside through some torrential rain.
Ok plan of action - Get showered and dressed, go to post office and some shops, paint second coat on radiator, a couple of frogs to get started on without fail.
Have a good day everyone - I hope weather brightens up. It was quite nice yesterday.

Yesterdays task was to retrieve a couple of nearly completed crochet blankets from the loft so I can get them finished and passed onto my old home towns Night-shelter project charity. They are in a large shopping bag so an open space was created immediately. As always I have to have a route about. Ended up doing a bit of sorting out clothes that are hanging up and are covered with bin bags for keeping items clean. The plastic had started to perish and I had previously purchased some plastic covers from lakeland I had forgotten about but were up there ready to be used, some long enough for dresses too. Swapped the covers over and the waste came down for recycling to SM collection. In moving hanging clothing about I came across an brand new pair of cashmere lounge pants complete with label. They need to be sold.
Found a quilt with 2 pillowcase set put away, I'm not even sure why that set ended up in "storage" its now sat in the washer waiting for some more items to be added. There will therefore be another bedding cull in the coming days as we do only have a small amount of space in the angled wardrobe. It fits more in than would appear possible
Some items were sent into the loft 3 small boxes to repurpose when I get some items advertised for sale. Another box of Christmas lights from parents house. Quantity of xmas decoration hooks plastic and metal.
DH donated a sweatshirt to be cut up and recycled to his workshop/shed.
Keep well hugs to all who need one

@stellata - I hope your recovery goes well 💐
Mrs SD - thank you for the knitting instructions. I need to work out how to save that post for future reference.
I have been keeping up with the recycling and some decluttering but things are still feeling too cluttered! I think it is partly due to the season and my focus getting sharpened up on what is in the house now that we spend more time in it. My makeup bag reached the end of its life and began to rapidly disintegrate in the drawer. It was a good reminder that few things last forever and that I need to keep on top of going through everything regularly rather than just holding onto them. I took a bag of items to a charity shop and they said that they had run out of room for storage as they had so much coming in. My bag was still accepted but I thought that was interesting to hear.My sweater drawer is bulging so I need to go through that and be quite ruthless. My shape has changed as I have aged and I know some of those cardigans are not going to look right anymore.15 -
Hi all, all I managed to do after I got home yesterday was empty the kitchen bin
Today we are going shopping for a friend's birthday present and possibly some new jeans for OH, or some warm trousers, we will see what is in the shop. That will be my main christmas present for OH sortedI
I have a load of washing to do but the maiden is still a bit full so I will check it when we get home before I put the machine onthe weather is looking a bit grim for the next few days at least.
Right we better get weaving or we will get nothing else done today. Hugs to everyone who would like one

I have decluttered my two cats to the local cattery. They were picked up by car earlier. Their pen that they are sharing looks very luxurious online, but they were miaowing a lot as they aren't used to going there. My dog is being picked up soon too to go to the kennel.
I really have to go through our wardrobes as they are bulging as I bought my husband new clothes last week as well. I realised we only have a few coat hangers spare now and we had loads of them spare a few months ago! I am going to start that now while I'm waiting for my dog to be picked up.
I am going to get my very first manicure today. I am going to go out for lunch afterwards. The place I was going to go to is a new place, but I have just realised it closes at 2pm so I won't have time. I will have to find somewhere else to eat.
I have a whole set of highlighter pens that I found the other day, but never use so they can start off the donation bag.2025 GOALS

Few items of clothing to the charity shop bag due to now being too big for me 🥳🥳 will take it down this weekend.
I also spent the weekend going through all my clothes, and logging them on an app. I'm hoping this will help me see what I do and don't wear, although this is something that will essentially be taking place over the next year to see how it goes. I also realised that I really don't need any more pale pink jumpers...
I'm basically getting into the habit of tracking what I'm wearing now, so hopefully it is encoded in me for next year, because this is going to be one of my goals. I'm hoping it will help me shop smarter as well, e.g. realising that even if I see a really nice pale pink jumper, I definitely don't need one! This will hopefully help with avoiding recluttering, which is definitely somewhere I can fall down if I'm not keeping myself on track.15 -
Off to declutter the big table in the garage - or at least the stuff piled on top of it. Once that's cleared I can then move the outdoor cushions from the green house into the drier safety of the garage for the winter. And close the little greenhouse window which I can't reach because of all the cushions. And then look at all the accumulated pots that either need to be binned or potted up with the new hyacinth bulbs. And get the primulas out of the car port and into the garden. And load all the cardboard boxes in the carport into OH's monster truck to take to the tip. And get all my art gear together and find the cash for my 2 pm art class....in the next 90 minutes....I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. 1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks to include MMiM - do this before I go to bed
2. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ I have an acronym - I.R.I.S. being Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off
3. Implement a new sleep/wake up regime - start going to bed earlier (target before 2:00 a.m.) get up earlier (target by 9:00 a.m.)
4. Deal with ‘Urgent’ daily mail immediately & the rest at the weekend
5. Don’t put it down, put it away
6. If I spot a mini task deal with it immediately e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
7. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Sunday was another grey miserable day, although the rain didn’t start until late. Finished knitting scarf 4 & started scarf 5. Did nothing else apart from watch SW - I am persevering even though it has become a) rather repetitive & b) mainly about the Emilia Fox character who would be either dead or in jail by now in any semblance of a real world which it used to be 😔 Dinner was burger & chips. DSis did the washing up 👏
2225 - 2227 Kitchen recycling, drinks cans, cardboard box - recycled
2228 Kitchen detritus binned
Good luck with your half term challenge Fizz2015 🍀 Fingers crossed that the meals are not too interesting 🤞😉
Now, now TC77 ‘wagging finger emoji’ No such thing as failure just a slight misjudgement re time & energy management 😊 You not only have a busy full time job & your own home to declutter but also commitments to your DDs, so something has to give 🤔 Perhaps a change of plans - you & DB should sit down & make a more specific plan for 2024 🤔 Although it sounds like a good plan to bring your dad’s paperwork home ready to start sorting whilst you are recuperating from your minor op which I am hoping goes really well. Although first things first you should get plenty of rest 😉 With the risotto cakes, I shape them then dip in beaten egg & then cover in breadcrumbs followed by shallow frying. Serve with lettuce/salad leaves as they can be very rich. They can also be frozen before cooking if you have too many 😉 (Although remember to fully defrost before cooking) 😉 Hmm not so sure about just 74 items of clothing 🤔 I probably have that number of t-shirts 😂
daisy_1571, I think between us we could probably set up our own T-shirt sales hub 🤣
GrannyKate, very interesting discussion about the Ancestry website 🤔 Not too sure that I would class “Died 1827 but had a child born 1837” as an anomaly 😅 Excellent decluttering 👏 & good luck with the ‘Great Mat Move Round’ 🍀
Wednesday2000, the newly refurbished cs sounds marvellous 😊 but don’t forget to save some spending money for your trip away 😉😉 Good luck with your wardrobe declutter 🍀 Great decluttering of paperwork 👏 It does seem to breed 😬
Fizz2015, sounds like you & I need to have a huge cull of our wardrobes 😂 although “exercise clothes” are a foreign concept to me 🤣
Wow Liverpool_Anne, you have had a busy few days 🤩 I was exhausted just reading about all you have managed to do 🥱 Sending gentle hugs to your friend at such a sad time. Yippee to finally getting the currency 🥳 & how lovely of you to thank the sm staff for trying to help 😊 Nice to know that there are still people around who try to put customers first 😊 Hope that your footy team won both their matches 😉
2Scratters, an excellent decluttering week 👏 Well done on creating spaces as you decluttered food, toiletries etc 👏
oceanspirit, hope you managed to get all the clocks changed 🤞Good luck with the washing machine repair 🍀 - only 17 months before a breakdown suggests that the wm is/was not fit for purpose regardless of the warranty 😖 Definitely worth putting in a complaint 🤔 Fingers crossed that your medical issue can be resolved 🤞as 2 years seems a long time to wait for a resolution 😔
Siebrie, great idea re the sewing machine manual 🙂
stellata, very pleased to hear that you are home from hospital 😊 Please follow doctors orders & rest until you are fully recovered 🙏 How lovely that your relative noticed that you have been decluttering 😊
Lovely post TC77 😊 Minimalist bloggers should provide all the information about their circumstances so we can make a proper judgement re their method working for us 😉
I have caught up a little on the cheerleading so will sign off for a while & return later 🤞
