Hope you enjoy your weekend in London DundeeDoll 🤞Surprising how much you can get done in 23 minutes especially when you can see the timer ticking down 😉 I did look up AL - did I pick the correct option - is it a programming language? rather than another option that came up as an abbreviation for Alabama 😉
I've been continuing to declutter every day but not posting cos work has been sooooooo hectic, and tomorrow I'm off to Pakistan till 7th. Packing was a breeze cos everything I needed was in its right place, gbf is coming to stay over and look after the dogs till mum gets back from holibags - I was able to show him his room already made up and totally tidy hooray. He hasn't been upstairs for a while and is amazed at the transformation. I do still need to tackle the kitchen cupboards and the office but reckon I'll get it all done by Christmas which considering the state of the house this time last year is absolutely amazing. Definitely worth persevering - there've been plenty of days when nothing seemed to have shifted and days where things looked worse but oh so worth itMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

@DundeeDoll thats amazing that you've everything to hand!
Love hearing how decluttering is making life easier for people. Although some way off for me15 -
My cousin is coming round for a day in about a month to help so.motivating me as don't want to waste her time with things that I can make myself get rid of but want her to help me organise and deal with some things I can't decide on my own.
I'm putting all my empty storage boxes together and doing like with like so I can then make a decision with everything in front of me14 -

I have spent Thursday afternoon watching episodes of Silent Witness & sorting paperwork etc contained in my large foot stool. Some shredding & recycling + relocating items to their correct/final places. I have also done some knitting. Not much but at least it is something 🤣 DH made a very tasty cheese sauce with tagliatelle as the pasta of choice 😋 Wudupa.

leftatthetrafficlights, fingers crossed that you can get rid of your heavy cold soon 🤞Very considerate of you NOT to spread your germs around 😊 & such a shame that others aren’t as considerate 😔Thank you for the extra information about your New Year 👏 I am thoroughly enjoying reading along & finding it very interesting 🤔 Excellent work repurposing clothing & decluttering freezer contents 👏
pollyanna_26, sounds interesting - a remarkable lady 🙂 Lovely comment about the 50p - it only took us 12 months to visit the jewellers 😉 Once the stove got going it was lovely & warm 😊
Madbat60, I must confess that I would rather iron than clean the toilet 😅
flamingo747, overall it sounds like you had a good trip to Disneyland 😊 Well done on resisting the temptation to buy lots of souvenirs 👏
GrannyKate sounds like the weather was not kind on Tuesday but you all still managed to have a good time 😊 Thank you for sharing your mortgage story 👏 Both you & your DH were incredibly financially savvy & worked so hard to become mortgage free 🙂 Re appliances speaking to each other - I am in full agreement 😉 From experience, when one appliance ceases to work it is closely by at least one more 😔 Must say I am not impressed at all by your DSis having to wait 4 months for delivery of the washing machine & drier 😖 Excellent decluttering of tasks 👏
Great decluttering florianatwobob 👏 Such a shame that you have to rely on discount codes to earn a bit extra from Ziffit 😔
Muddy_Walker, sorry to hear that work has been so busy that it has used up all your energy 😔 Hopefully it will be quieter next week & you can declutter as much as you would like 😉
Decided not to stay up so late so am off to bed 🙂

Went to see my new doctor yesterday. I really went to meet her, but she discovered my heart is skipping beats, so had me take an EKG - I flunked it. So she is referring me to a cardiologist as well as a gastroenterologist for another problem. If it isn't one thing, something else goes wrong I guess. Then I went to City Hall to get a parking permit (only have to do it every two years). Set off the metal detector - two metal knees. But I got the permit. Home and worked on the computer for a long time.
Today I watered the plants in front. Then we went to the Orange Family History Center. I have a friend I am helping with her English genealogy in Northumberland and Durham. Found a couple of problems, and then had a breakthrough on one line, so it was a fairly good day. Most of the records for her area are on locked films which really makes things difficult. May have to make a trip to Salt Lake some day or do when she goes home to visit (she was born there). She always takes Di and I out to lunch afterward. Then a long drive home in rush hour traffic - really bad for some reason today. Just had time to turn around and get ready to go to the Anaheim Family History Center. Put up signs for our vacation days for our Thanksgiving and for the C-holiday. I pick the dates now as our director isn't around most of the time. Helped with Ancestry.com for the most part. We were supposed to have rain today - the most beautiful blue clear skies all day instead. Our weatherpeople must be in despair these days - they have blown the report 4 out of the last 6 days.
Tomorrow morning I have an appointment for blood tests. Then it is off to the Library to shift books around. We are eating out tomorrow evening as we have certificates for 5 free hamburgers from the Summer Reading Program that expire 31 Oct. Then I will probably work on my book on the computer as my roommates will be watching the start of the Baseball World Series.
Saturday will be a room cleaning day for me. I am hoping to make really good progress at least in rearranging boxes to get to what I need, like my winter sweaters.15 -
Hi everyone
@Siebrie - very impressive hair styling for your DDs - I thought I was clever that I could do a french plait in my DDs' hair!
@weenancyinAmerica - sorry to hear about the health worries.
Hugs to anyone who needs one.
I had to go into work yesterday so took a bag to drop off at the CS on the way; also donated a small rug. DD1 has sold a blouse for me on v!nted, it was one I bought from a CS but was a bit tight - I managed to make a profit of £1! I've been shredding tons of paper which has gone in the recycling bin in empty cat food boxes.
I've decluttered another year of my life this week plus 3 portions of birthday cake! I'm decluttering work at midday as I'm heading down the motorway to visit family.

@Floss fantastic about your DS2.
DD1 wouldn't claim for MH issues but then diagnosed with ADHD so dropped off kit yesterday. DD2 has dyslexia but also a hearing problem so what helps for one doesn't always work for her but she's more tech savvy and organised.
Dropped off return for DD1 this morning early and still collecting storage from around the house, trying to rehome where only one item and then will have a think about organisation.13 -
@Deni_debt-free_dreamer "@Siebrie - very impressive hair styling for your DDs - I thought I was clever that I could do a french plait in my DDs' hair!"You are very clever! I can't do a French plait! There's a reason I've outsourced hair care for 10 years! It's only now that dds are older and can voice their complaints politely that I've dared take it on. Friday is overcast & has been raining. DH woke me just before noon to advise that our plumber has finished a job early so is on his way round today 🙂 Cue mad dash to get washed & dressed 😉Plumber arrived at 12:25 - lovely chat about his family & holiday plans for the next couple of years. Plus chatted about his friend who is now 104 years old & then he set to work. Boiler checked & given a clean bill of health for another year & he was gone by 12:55 so straight into cheerleading 😉
Wow you were busy on Wednesday Liverpool_Anne 🤩 Excellent work dealing with ACAS 👏 Hopefully the negotiations re compensation will go smoothly & quickly 🤞What a nightmare re getting suitable currency 😖 especially as they have had plenty of time to source it 😔 Autocorrect can be quite amusing on occasion 😅 Although rather annoying on others - my bugbear is “ill” being corrected to “I’ll” every single time 😖
Soontobeoap, what a nightmare 😬 Very pleased to hear that although the craft shed leaked you managed to rescue all the important bits & pieces & they were undamaged 😮💨 Excellent decluttering of cardboard boxes + the 2 bags to CS 👏
Siebrie, what a lovely way to spend a rainy Wednesday afternoon 😊 It sounds like all 3 of you thoroughly enjoyed your time at your friend’s house with all the dogs & cats 😊
flamingo747, sorry to hear that you were struggling yesterday 😔 Sending cwtches 🤗 & positive thoughts that today is a better day. Please try to give yourself some TLC 🙏 Fingers crossed that the weather is being kind in your neck of the woods & that the sun is shining 🤞
~FlowerPot~, I think someone kicked the plug out 😉 It appears to have been down from 11:00ish to 14:30 - although it felt longer 😬 Sorry to hear that you are still suffering from face ache but hopefully the heat pack helped ease the pain 🤞
Brie, hope you managed to summon up the enthusiasm & energy yesterday to declutter the leaves 😉
short_bird, I will bear that in mind although I think we might have already left it too late to visit Venice especially with DH’s dodgy leg 😔 Excellent decluttering 👏 & good luck with the sales 🍀
EnergyShifter, pleased to hear that your bathroom chap has recovered from his bad back 🙂 The dehumidifier sounds like a marvellous ‘toy’ & hopefully it will aid in speeding up the renovations 🤞Nothing wrong with being fascinated by how something works - far better than watching paint dry 😉 Great decluttering as usual 👏
Muddy_Walker, well said 🙂 “Energyshifter it’s the little things that keep us going! When I’m making resin snowflakes I used to religiously clean the pot with acetone…..now I let the dregs dry and see if I can peel them out in one piece 🤣🤣🤣”
Excellent decluttering TC77 👏 Thank you for sharing the information about DSA 🙂
diminua, I am joining you in your annoyance 😖 You would think Trading Standards might have a thing or two to say 😔
DundeeDoll, I did feel slightly foolish at making the AL acronym so complicated 😂 Congratulations on getting most of your home decluttered & tidy 🥳 Always a great boost when someone else notices AND comments 😊 It is also a great encouragement to your fellow declutterati & as such I am awarding you a Gold Star ⭐️ Enjoy your time in Pakistan 😊 & I look forward to seeing you when you get back 👋 Safe travels 🙂
TC77, totally agree with your sentiment 😊 Good luck with your decluttering prior to your cousin’s visit 🍀 Hopefully the two of you can manage to carve out some non decluttering time to just enjoy each others company 🤞😊
Floss, congratulations to DS2 🥳
I have almost caught up but am struggling to keep my concentration going. DH has gone out armed with a smallish shopping list & a determination to find DSis’s milk 😉 Fingers crossed that he is successful 🤞as DSis only has one carton left 😔 Today was a day for plumbers - neighbour J has just had his new boiler installed 😉
Hope everyone has as good a Friday as possible 😊 Cwtches for all 🤗🤗
