1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks to include MMiM - do this before I go to bed
2. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ I have an acronym - I.R.I.S. being Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off
3. Implement a new sleep/wake up regime - start going to bed earlier (target before 2:00 a.m.) get up earlier (target by 9:00 a.m.)
4. Deal with ‘Urgent’ daily mail immediately & the rest at the weekend
5. Don’t put it down, put it away
6. If I spot a mini task deal with it immediately e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
7. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
We left at 13:15 & got home just before 18:30 - both still sober 😉 More a testament to the weakness of the beer than to how much was consumed 😂
First stop was the jewellers to pick up DH’s wedding ring & my pearl anniversary 50p 🙂 DH’s ring fits perfectly & is so shiny that it looks brand new 🥳 The solution to making my 50p into a pendant was so elegant that I still haven’t stopped smiling ☺️ see photo below.
Fortunately I was sitting down for the ouchie part of the transaction ….. payment 😉 Both of us left the jewellers feeling more than happy 😆 DH popped into 2 supermarkets - still no milk 😔 but I was more successful with my 2 tasks - banked this month’s PB win & posted my letters 🙂 We then visited The Cittie of Yorke pub where we used to try & hide from our colleagues when we first started dating/getting to know each other 😉 We always picked the most remote booth but were still spotted on our 2nd visit 😔
No planning session this time around - just reminiscing & enjoying each others company ☺️ We again managed to get on the tube at rush hour so we did let 4 trains go past before getting on 😉 DH & I had the lo cottage pie + broccoli for dinner & DSis had baked beans on toast. Wudupa.

*310 broken toilet sear-recycling
*311-313. Cuddly toys x 3 of DDs still with tags on and brand new from when she was younger, freshened up and put in a Dunelm Christmas tree present label bag full of goodies requested including cuddly toys. DD (now 24) would rather the toys be played with rather than gathering dust.
*314-316 three toys/ items from present stash also added into the Dunelm Christmas bag. Think I have gone slightly overboard with items, but the staff can always split into two bags as I went to the works and bought lots of arts and crafts items also requested on the Christmas label, so I have a very big bag of items to be dropped off on Friday
*317 huge gift bag picked up cheap in January used for the above Christmas bagDecluttering challenge 2023🏅⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

-taff said:I would also like to say that today, when I was putting my winter clothes out and the summer ones away, every time I picked something up that didn't fit but I really wanted to keep, somehow it ended up in the get rid pile. This is the first time that has happened. Ever. I'd be holding it, thinking, yeah, I could keep it till I lose weight and BAM! straight into the go pile. It was like my hands were making decisions my brain wasn't involved in.

Guy doing my bathroom isn't coming today - he pulled his back yesterday and is resting up today. I know him personally and feel sure he's being honest and not just going off to do another job. Must admit I am relieved to have a day of quietness! Although I won't feel quite the same if he's not back tomorrow.
Floss - congratulations on paying off your mortgage !!!
Shortbird - what a beautiful photo - the sky is amazing!
Taff - what a great thing to have got into a flow with your decluttering!
Mrs SD - Thank you for my medal! That pub looks so cosy! I've walked past it a number of times but not been inside yet. Jewellers did a great job with the pendant. So shiny !!
Thanks all for good wishes and encouragement re: my "post-viral thingy"

I still haven't took the demijohns to the charity shop - unfortunately I've been loaded with a cold over the past couple of days and don't want to be spreading anything so it will probably have to wait until next week 🙄
@Mrs_Salad_Dodger - the date does change in a similar way to the solstice, equinox and the other cross-quarter dates - last year and this year it falls on 7th November, next year it is on 6th.
For others who have asked for further info or commented (sorry, I know one person was @florianatwobob and another was @Liverpool_Anne but can't remember who asked what and may have forgotten others - my brain is a bit of a sieve at the moment with this cold!! 🤦♀️) - I'm sure that the pagan festivals of samhain, imbolc, beltane and lammas are based on the astronomical cross-quarters as it is an earth based religion but they have a unifying date to celebrate which is close to the actual astronomical date as opposed to the date itself.
Although I am not pagan, I celebrate the solstices, equinoxes and the cross quarters (on the actual date) because of the connection I feel to the planet and it's natural cycles/seasons; to me it just feels like a harmonious way to live and it helps me to live more in the moment and mindfully.
Admittedly, my main celebrations tend to be this forthcoming cross quarter, the winter solstice and the next cross quarter (imbolc in the pagan calendar) - I think part of it comes down to having more time to think once the autumn draws to a close and I'm not so busy in the garden but also I love the 'new year' feeling of the beginning of winter which gives me the opportunity to reflect, nurture new plans (and myself!) and reset my routines. I also feel a real joy with the promise of longer days and building on my new plans at winter solstice. The February cross quarter is always exciting because that when I plant the first of my summer seeds - tomatoes, peppers and chillis! 😁🙌
Anyway, I'm waffling now! Sorry!!🤦♀️
I've decluttered a few clothes from my wardrobe today - I haven't got much to go (just a few t-shirts) and nothing which is worthy of a charity shop so I'll be cutting them up to use as rags.
I've done okay this week so far with decluttering my freezer - since I did the inventory we have used one of the UFO's, one bag of tomato and courgette sauce and two small berebere okara loaves plus lots of frozen veg 😁 Tonight I'll be decluttering the leftovers from the fridge by making a curry!

Many of us on the OS forum and probablyothers used to follow Bealtaine Cottage. One woman Three Acres in Ireland . A run down cottage and 3 acres of neglected land wer turned in to a haven at very little cost. You're probably already aware of her leftatthetraffic lights she is a practising pagan and time spent watching her progress was worthwhile. She used bits of stained glass and allsorts of finds to create a beautiful planet friendly home and garden. as far as I know lots of her daily blogs are still on You TubeIt's Bealtaine Cottage.pollyxIt is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.
