A productive day. Work has started on my bathroom. I got my boiler serviced and arranged a quote for new radiators. Plus contacted roofing company to arrange a visit - got a slipped tile. Also had a good sort out of paper-work.
Resting up this evening - all this thinking and deciding wore me out 😂

Mrs SD so glad you've spoken to your R and she's well.
Went out Sunday evening as my cousin's friends were in a performance and then went for a late meal so back after midnight and then in the office and stayed v late to meet dd1 to sign a form. Should have scanned and written stuff when back but too late.
Someone picked up coffee table I had wombled and then had to pass on via the freesite. Target next year not to womble.

I'm with Brie weenancy, I'm super impressed you're so famous!I have achieved the goal of clearing the table in the living room so I can rejig some curtains to hang on the landing [this is nominally my sewing area where my machine and overlocker are] . It was a day of doings, phnoned the plumber, the carpenter, booked a tip trip. I had those ikea hanging pot things on my spice rack, five of them, full of all sorts, I'd had enough of them hanging around and getting in my way so now there is one of them and the rest have been put somewhere else or binned. I've collected things to go to the tip and half filled a black bag with rag. And filled a bag for the cs. Also cleaned the kitchen, you know how it is, you do one job, then suddenly you're doing more than you anticipated but it looks so lovely when it's properly clean.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi19

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks to include MMiM - do this before I go to bed
2. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ I have an acronym - I.R.I.S. being Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off
3. Implement a new sleep/wake up regime - start going to bed earlier (target before 2:00 a.m.) get up earlier (target by 9:00 a.m.)
4. Deal with ‘Urgent’ daily mail immediately & the rest at the weekend
5. Don’t put it down, put it away
6. If I spot a mini task deal with it immediately e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
7. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Bowl of hm soup for lunch. The scarf is 2/3rds finished. DH filled the bird feeders & also went to sm - still no milk even though staff told DH that they get a delivery every day but allocate it all to click & collect or home delivery 🤔 DH politely suggested that they increase their order 😉 I made cottage pie from scratch which we had with broccoli 🤤 Enough cottage pie mix for the freezer. Wudupa. Yes I did have my bath & washed my hair.
2188 - 2189 Kitchen recycling, drinks cans - recycled
2190 Kitchen detritus binned
Off to bed & will attempt to catch up tomorrow 🤞

Thanks for my star Mrs SD. Going out for the day to local wildlife place. Hideously expensive for a large group of us but guess it is less than I would have paid if I'd taken DGCs away for half term. DS2 started on painting what is now bedroom 4.
1565 Broken toy binned
1566 Random card and paper mixed in with toys binned
1567-1570 Unused boxed light fittings etc in CS bag
1571-1574 Old tins of paint out
1575 Wildlife park tickets purchased and printed
1576-1579 Random car things to CS bag or bin
1580 Spray can of something to do with photography recycled
1581 Very old wallpaper adhesive binned
1582 My unsorted boxes (there were 7 but there seem to be 9) put in an empty wardrobe out of sight
1583 Hanging rail (I had been using it for tomatoes in greenhouse) brought in and cleaned up for DGD4 to use until we get a wardrobe
1584 Outdoor bench cushions brought in. They have been out all year but I realised the covers had zips so washed in machine and they have come up well - foam inners dried off so they can all go up in loft with my other outdoor seat cushions. There is another rather grubby one in front porch so I will wash that as well.
1585 More of the swimming pool emptied. I do at least 2 buckets full every time I go outside. DGS4 was helping yesterday - getting very wet!
1586 Lovely neighbour fixed DGS4's bike chain
1587-89 3 large boxes/bags of wooden train set gone to the DGCs other home
1590 DS2 sawed some wood up in front garden but none has been collected yet
Right need to get everyone up and sorted for day out. I seem to have 3 DGCs here rather than 2.2025 Decluttering Campaign 733/2025 🏅🏅🏅🏅(🏅🏅) 🌟🌟

@Liverpool_Anne re the wax melts the smell goes not the wax, you can add a few drops of essential oils to make it smell nice again though.Focus on contribution instead of the impressiveness of consumption to see the true beauty in people.17

Morning all from a rainy Kent. Well turns out retiring and being frugal makes you really busy. I've been harvesting the crops from the garden. So far bags of celery are in the freezer, took me hours to clean and chop. I've pickled beetroot and made chilli jam, which is lush albeit a bit fierce. My peapod wine is in the demijohn bubbling away and I've decanted 6 bottles of merlot I made from a kit into wine bottles I saved. It's drinkable. I've had worse from a shop. I will leave it to mature a bit.
Wickes finally came and sorted the !!!!!! up they made with our new kitchen and gave us another £550 for the mistake and inconvenience. That £1250 I got out of them in the end. I sold my late ex-husband's action men to vintage c##h c#w, so that went into savings too. I have a load of costume jewellery I might send them too. I've sorted out a cleaning rota of sorts. I've decluttered my wardrobe and I'm in the process of decluttering the freezer, as I've been buying Christmas bits. Plans today is to go through my fabric stash and sort out materials for making some presents. I'm going to make my son's GF a tote bag and fill it with bits and pieces all wrapped up. I'll make her a make up bag too. She's a student so it will be practical things like toiletries, that are so expensive. I have loads of b**ts points so I will spend them on her. I will also do the same with my best friend and her daughter.
So money is tight but we're OK. DP is ticking along with odd jobs since leaving his seasonal work, DS has a new job, with proper hours and a pension. The pay is really good and he can progress. No more of this zero hours rubbish. He still hasn't had his Dad's money but that's OK, it's not going anywhere and solicitor's are notoriously slow.
Off to make beef curry and put it in the slocooker. Have a great Tuesday.19 -
