Finally tomorrow is the day when the council pick up the bulky waste and the insurance company are coming round to take up our flooring downstairs as well. Then we have the dehumidifiers being delivered the next day so we can dry out the floor from the water leaks!
I have to drop off the donation bag to the charity shop as I didn't take it the other day as it was raining. I added some other things while I was rearranging my toiletries and added some unopened products I never use.
I did my hair a bit lighter yesterday and I have booked myself my first ever facial this week and a manicure next week. I'm going to Brighton to see Ricky Gervais at the end of the month and then to Broadstairs to look around what will hopefully be my new local area in a couple of years!
We started watching the British time travel show Bodies which is good. It is on Netflix and we will probably watch more later.

@Floss - I've had quite a few interesting UFO meals so I understand the relief of at least having a vague idea of contents!! 😉😂
@daisy_1571 - for me it's about living within the cycle of the year and celebrating the seasonal changes.
At this astronomical point it is the beginning of the winter, so it's time to dispose of all that has burdened you in the past year, clear the decks for the year ahead and start to plan the seeds of growth you want in the forthcoming year (it has the same focus as the pagan festival of samhain although that is celebrated at Halloween/1st November).
We have a bonfire if the weather permits, an indoor fire if not - plus there are other traditions that we have as part of our celebration including a meal made purely from food grown at home in the summer.
Anyway, I hope that explains the basis of why I celebrate my 'new year' at a very different time than most other people 😉DNF: £708.92/£1000

@leftatthetrafficlights that makes perfect sense to me. I have a similar urge triggered when I smell Autumn for the first time (either that or it’s my inner Mary Poppins and the wind changing 😉). Other people spring clean….I autumn sort and start putting my life in order.✒️ Declutter 2025👗 Fashion on the Ration 2025 61/66 coupons (5 coupons silver boots)✒️Declutter 2024 🏅🏅🏅(DSis 🏅🏅)

We started moving furniture upstairs for the workmen tomorrow and I decluttered more things. The charity donation bag has 6 CDs and a top added to it. Some unwanted stuff was binned and I found something from a concert that I was thinking about selling on ebay. I will hold on to that.
I am watching a very strange film called Nope. It started off quite interesting, but has meandered into something quite dull!2025 GOALS

I have decluttered all the garden rubbish that was left on the driveway by the "gardener" to mine and my neighbour's garden bins and a rubble sack. My neighbour also helped me move a large conifer from the slope where it was left to somewhere safer so I can work on that next. I got £350 back through the door yesterday so the ordeal has cost me £170.I have also got rid of the ironing pile.MFW 2025 No. 7 £1130/£1200

Hi all, not posted or indeed done much decluttering in the past few days. I have had a virus of some kind, not covid according to the tests but I have struggled a bit with low energy and I have had other things booked in so lots of lounging, reading and crochet. I was supposed to be meeting friends on Thursday morning for coffee but it was cancelled, unfortunately I had already left the house when the text message was sent and so didn't get it until I arrived at the venue, driving so no mobile phone checking. I got a take away coffee instead and had a little walk in a nearby park but the weather was a bit yuck. I went to check if the currency I had ordered had come but no luck there either so will have to call again tomorrow. Friday I started to feel a bit rough but had arranged to meet a friend for tea in a pub overlooking the river. The weather was quite bad as we got the edge of the storm but the food was good. My friend lives on the Wirral and they had some localised floods so we didn't stay late as she was concerned about flooded roads and I wasn't on top form. On Saturday I went to the footy and today I had to do a small trip to the sm. Tomorrow we are going to meet OH's sister, bil, nephew and wife, niece and partner plus baby for tea so dosed up for a good night's sleep
. In between times I have 2 LDFPA, 2 more loads drying on the maiden, 200 emails deleted, bathroom bin emptied and the bin binned as the pedal action had broken. Replaced with a new one. Kitchen recycling emptied and 2 big boxes have been broken down and put into the recycling. That bin is quite full now, I might have to push it down a bit as it is over a week until it will be emptied. I have a bag of hard plastic waiting to go to the tip, I will see if I can do that tomorrow. OH has decided to keep small plastic pots to be used for lemon possit, sigh, we have quite a few small glass pots but apparently we need the plastic ones as well so they can be used when we gift them to people. I will be working on gifting as many as I can
. Last but not least I have uu a note book
.
I have a question for anyone who uses wax melts. I have just started using some which I had been gifted, never used them before. Does the wax eventually go or is it just the smell that goes and you are left with a blob of wax? My sense of smell is a bit impaired atm but after using several tea lights the wax melt doesn't seem much less than when I started.
I have been re reading a John le Carre book. I read them all years ago and had forgotten what a good writer he was.
Right off to bed now, there was a few things I was going to comment on but my mind is full of wool. Hugs to everyone who would like one

Got up really early today and took my car in for an oil change. And to have them install my windshield wiper as I couldn't figure out how to do it. Glad I had them do it as it took a bit of work. Took a book on Organizing for the Creative Person - managed to read to page 80 by the time they finished. Home and took out trash. Then went grocery shopping with roommates. Got home and put everything away. Did the agenda for the board meeting of the Friends. We are having a party tomorrow - our 59th anniversary of the Friends. The Library is furnishing a cake. We had our book sale on Friday and made $475.05 on the sale and the money for the indoor book room hasn't been counted yet. Tomorrow we will have breakfast to celebrate the book sale , spend several hours cleaning up the book sale, followed by the Friends meeting. Have to go pick up my prescription afterward. Then home to finish getting all of the weekly trash out and dog proof the house so husky can come in for a visit on Tuesday. It was 32C (91F) for the Book Sale (we were in the shade but still warm). It is supposed to rain tonight and tomorrow and then cool down for several days. Most of this week is a combination of doctors' appointments, getting the books ready at the library, helping people with their genealogies, and cleaning house.
Yesterday I gave a speech at the Family History Library in an adjoining town. A few of the people were in the room but most were watching on Zoom. Had to stand sideways. It was on Usual and Unusual Sources for African-American Research, and included what I did the years I worked for Alex Haley (on Roots 2 and Queen). I had a great time. Several of them will be coming into the Family History Center where I volunteer later this week.
Hope everyone stays safe this week.18 -
Still experiencing this post-viral - low energy thing. In fact on Saturday I felt that "it" had come back and spent the whole afternoon sleeping. I had a most welcome burst of energy yesterday and of course over-did it.
Cancelled all my social arrangements for the forthcoming week as I really need to recharge and reset. I have a week off and this will be my focus along with getting some bits and bobs done around the house & administratively (but not go mad like yesterday).
Work on my bathroom starts in earnest today!!! I think I will stay out of the way in my bedroom with my noise-cancelling headphones on. I won't itemise ins & outs on this one - will just count as a task.
Tasks:
I realised that there is no way I am likely to get my kitchen replaced this year so did some temporary fixes to brighten it up so:
Moved chalk board in dining room / kitchen & painted over space where it'd been
Covered work surfaces in kitchen with white vinyl. Brightened place up.
Stored summer garden stuff - cushions & lights - in the loft
