Hi decluttering friends
RL has been very busy but got 3 days off work so am enjoying a long weekend. Today I was supposed to be meeting a friend for lunch but she has a roof leak so we cancelled - lots of flooded roads here in the NW so I'm happy to stay at home.
I decluttered one side plate and a hairbrush to SM; a few bit of random rubbish from my old shed (dismantled in May!) that went in the bin and my biggest declutter is about 7' feet of hedge (height) and loads of branches from a neighbour's tree that overhang my garden - garden now looks bigger and much lighter - just like my bank balance!
I still have a box of books for z!ff1t and a bag for the CS so hope to take them while i'm off work.
Hope everyone is managing ok in this horrible weather
Love Deni x

Couple of items not picked up
Day off and realise how much I need time to just catch up. So far, picked up pictures from framer * taken in March but couldn't find ticket or what they were so they couldn't track them down. Found ticket in car (dd2 had come with me as framing one was her birthday idea for me and thought she'd taken in the house. Took in a print from my dad's and a frame I made years ago when I did picture framing so cheap as only needs glass and mount.
Towels dropped off at cat rescue place and someone had brought in a cat they found with a note about how old it was etc. Forgot to take the litter in cats don't like .
At Swedish place hoping to take item back as faulty. Got bank statement for tax return I hope to do next month and amended and printed important document ( changing printer ink too) More planned but we will see how it goes.15 -
Quick update, item returned, managed to trip over things at home but alas found an American woman Angela brown who talks about cleaning and decluttering which I'm finding useful.
Went through 3 lots of old receipts, and bits of paper , 4 out including pencils. 2 more items in cs bag.also ood food and progressed frog for dd1, going to call it 1700!
Take care everyone.15 -

6. If I spot a mini task deal with it immediately e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
7. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Friday was a dry day but mainly overcast. DH went out for a small shop to get a couple of items I left off yesterday’s list 😉 He also filled the bird feeders again & we put away our garden hose. Another lazy day for me - dealt with 2 days mail, watched more Silent Witness & carried on knitting a 2nd scarf - about two thirds done. The hm soup is delicious. Dinner was sausages, mash & baked beans. Wudupa.
2170 - 2176 Kitchen recycling, plastic bottle, magazine, 2 newspapers, booklet, drinks cans - recycled
2177 Kitchen detritus binned
Off to bed now & will try harder to catch up tomorrow 😉

I've been awol for ages!! 😳🤦♀️ I haven't caught up with the thread as it would take hours so hugs to all that need them...
It's been a very busy few weeks but I haven't done much decluttering...list is currently:
1) Declutter understair cupboard- I have several demijohns full of wine in there that I need to check out to see if they are drinkable or need to be tipped. There's a lot of other stuff in there that needs to be gone through too. demijohns are out and settled. Dh needs to get me some tubing from work so that we can syphon some off to check them - this will be done next week. I decluttered a large box from the understair cupboard yesterday and will check out what else is in there over the next week.
2) Declutter the back garden - we have a couple of 'storage' areas in the garden which are in dire need of sorting out! I have a load of empty demijohns out there that need to be rehomed now that I no longer plan to make wine so I need to check if the charity shops locally will take them. Other stuff are leftover bits from a variety of different garden projects so I need to dump the detritus. Part done, still more to do!! I have checked with the local charity shops and they can all take some of the demijohns so I'll start dropping them off next week
3) Declutter about 1.5 stone in weight!! 🙄🤦♀️ Still an ongoing project!! 😳
4) Do the repair & cleaning jobs that I've been putting off around the house - there aren't too many but again I have just procrastinated constantly!! I still need to mooch around and get a bit more specific about the jobs required then make a specific plan to complete each task.
5) Do a freezer inventory so that I can 'declutter' current stocks, defrost and clean the freezers and save some money!!
6) Declutter the flower beds, take cuttings and plant out spring bulbs
That will do for now - once I achieve some of the things on the list, I'll probably add more!DNF: £708.92/£1000

Saturday is a slightly brighter day than yesterday as the sun is out 😉 Only woke up at 13:20 😔 so am snuggled up in my fluffy dressing gown. I will probably finish knitting the 2nd scarf today & start on a third. So straight into cheerleading
Brie, a good idea for ajmoney 👏 Good luck with getting your laundry dried 🍀 Hopefully you will have a couple of dry days 🤞
Crazycatlady2, sorry to hear that neither the car nor the bed have been sold 😔 Fingers crossed that your shopping trip is not too expensive 🤞
EnergyShifter, excellent decluttering of both physical items and tasks 👏
Soontobeoap, excellent crafting 👏 Very impressed at how much you have managed to get done 😊 A medal 🏅 is coming your way 😊
QueenJess, sorry to hear that RL is still so overwhelming 😔 However, please try not to be so hard on yourself & enjoy the half term break with your children 🙏 Two lovely bright spots - DS not only keeping his room tidy but also doing well at school 🥳 Keeping everything crossed that the positive chat with the recruiter translates into new & better employment 🤞Yesterday’s lunch sounds really yummy 🤤
Floss, hopefully QJ will manage some TLC 🤞
Welcome aboard the EDT DigSunPap 👋 Astonished that you managed to jump aboard as it is still speeding along 😉 An excellent start to your decluttering campaign 👏 Fingers crossed that you achieve your goal 🤞Being the curious person that I am, I am looking forward to learning a bit about you as you head towards your target of entering 2024 with a clutter free home 😊
I have caught up a little but am finding it difficult to concentrate so will be back later 👋

Hi Digsunpap, welcome.Hi everyone. I hope you’re all ok and over the inclement weather. I will post a pic of my new boating lake garden feature.I have been awol. DIL was very ill in hospital with an infection. DS had to stay with her and dgs in hospital as their instructions. He didn’t feel he could have any more time off work so I have been staying in Oxfordshire on Grandma duties. DIL now on the mend and we have actually had a lovely time together. I have bonded with the little chap and am thoroughly in love. Not a lot of decluttering as I have not been here. The builder has been whilst he was rained off on another job. We now have a huge amount of insulation in the loft and the joiner will come to reinstall the loft floor. No decluttering will happen next week either as we have a lot on. Another ecg for me on Monday,DSS 40th birthday party on Tuesday in Nottingham. DD1 comes to stay Tuesday, her Bf needs picking up from the airport Wednesday then Thursday we take DD,bf and all her boxes of stuff to her house in Sheffield… on the way to Oxfordshire then train to London Friday and euro star to Paris for the rugby final. Phew! Need to fit in a visit to my Mum and organise myself for Paris too. So what am I doing? Making pigs in blanket Christmas decorations for the Christmas fair!I have been to the pound chazzer today and picked up some black trousers, a top and a jumper all in smaller sizes. 3 sizes smaller actually. I still want to lose more weight so I don’t want to spend a lot on clothes which I might only wear a few times. When I have the time I will revisit my clothes.Out an antique jar of horseradish and I broke the cafetière. New total 1148Vx:19

Finally decided to get dressed as DH has headed off to sm to try & get DSis’s milk which seems to be in short supply …… again. Currently watching the worst ever episode of Silent Witness 😖 whilst continuing to knit the 2nd scarf. DH & I had a bowl of our hm soup which is even tastier today due to the judicious addition of some chilli & some chorizo 🤤 I have set the timer & will now try to catch up with the cheerleading 🤞
Deni_debt-free_dreame, shame about the cancellation of your lunch date 😔 & I hope your friend can get her roof fixed before any more damage is done 🤞Great decluttering 👏 Hopefully one advantage of the horrid weather is that you can get some indoor decluttering done 🤞😉 Although please try to remember to give yourself some TLC over your long weekend off work 🙏🙂
TC77, Excellent decluttering & completion of long standing tasks 👏 You had a busy day off 😥 Please do try to take some time for some TLC 🙏 I have bookmarked the Angela Brown 12 week series on decluttering which I will take a look at some point in the next few weeks 🤞Please drive carefully in the wet weather 🙏
Great work using up freezer contents QueenJess 👏 I really do need to get a move on with mine - currently both my freezers look like they have had gremlins living in them 😅
Lovely to see you leftatthetrafficlights 👋 Do remember that keeping clutter OUT is just as important as tackling the clutter you already have 😊 You have made an excellent start on decluttering the under-stairs cupboard 👏 Fingers crossed that the wine is palatable 🤞& doesn’t have to be disposed off 🤞Also excellent work sourcing charity shops to take your empty demijohns 👏 keep up the good work decluttering the weight 😊 I see that although it might be slow going you are still on a downward trajectory 👏 Numbers 4, 5 & 6 on your list are also on mine 😔 & like you I keep procrastinating 🙊 I think I might need to refresh & update my daily mantras 😂
vulpix, so sorry to hear that DIL has been so unwell 😔 but pleased to hear that she is now on the mend 😊 Thank goodness for the NHS, true heroes 🦸♀️ DGS is absolutely gorgeous 😍 & notwithstanding DIL being so ill it sounds like you have really enjoyed getting to know your DGS 😊 Hopefully with all that extra loft insulation you will be ‘snug as a bug in a rug’ when winter really sets in 🤞 I hope you can get some rest this weekend as you have such a busy week ahead - I was completely exhausted just reading about your upcoming schedule of events 😩 You must be so proud of yourself - losing so much weight & needing to buy clothes 3 sizes smaller 🥳 A Gold Star ⭐️ is coming your way 🙂 Now that is what I call a new garden feature 😉 😱
All caught up 🥳 DH is back - still no joy getting DSis’s milk & he got wet on the journey home 😔
Hoping everyone can keep warm & dry. Cwtches for all 🤗 🤗 🤗
