Thank you for the tips
I'm very glad she won't be my responsibility on the flight (I am emetophobic, so flying at all when someone could be sick already makes me anxious!), much as I love her. I will definitely pass all these ideas onto SIL. She has the window seat, so hopefully the novelty of that will be a distraction. I just have Junior Flamingo with me, and he's never had travel sickness, currently travels 2.5 hours a day for school and uses his phone for watching, reading, or gaming the whole time with no issues!
Car got a clean and a hoover, needs a proper interior valeting but I'm too cheap! Approx +20 for wrappers, old receipts, expired McDs ketchup, and empty bottles!Married 40y.o. mum of an autistic 11y.o. Carer/SAHM.

No time for any decluttering, but very slowly things are being used up and not replaced. The freezer is no longer rammed, but is definitely too full and we are slowly getting through it. Still trying to find the bottom before the end of the year and hopefully even get time to defrost it before I restock at lower levels.

Can't believe it is almost time for our next Friends Book Sale - this Friday. So we are spending each afternoon at the library to get ready. Each large cart holds about 1000 books and we have 10 of those, and the small carts hold between 100 and 300 books - and we have 24 of those. We also have a three large carts of DVDs and 1 large cart of CDs. We will also have a cartload of jigsaws. Keeping us busy filling them up. This is National Friends of the Library Week and the local city council gave us a presentation last night at their meeting. We watched it live on TV.
Monday Roommate G took out all of the trash and emptied all of the trash cans without being asked. I was in the state of shock. Never happened before. And roommate J cleaned up the tree cuttings that had been lying around to go out in the trash cans also. Something must be in the air. We are still a bit overwarm here - expecting 29C here for the book sale - we who are working there are in the shade thank goodness. So are half of the book carts.
Read that your pensions might go up by 8.2%. Ours is only going up by 3.2% - not even enough to cover food increases. I do know where most of the food banks are here as I refer people to them all of the time, so if worse comes to worse, I know where to go.
Not making too much progress in the living room though except by accident. Roommate Di tea spilled and so we had to empty two boxes in a hurry as the boxes were wet. The books didn't get wet thankfully. Half of what was in them is going out to the sale - so another box of books to go. We also have one box of books to take to the bookstore first - and then the remainders go to the book sale.19 -
Hi all, quick catch up before tea. I have decluttered some hair, I had reached the burst couch stage so it had to be done
I have emptied the kitchen bin and recycling, the lr recycling, 2 large boxes have been broken down and put into the recycling. I found some gift bags so these have been reorganised with the others and sorted into bottle bags and others, the wrapping paper has been sorted again and organised better so a productive afternoon. I plan to check my emails and do some crochet later. Tomorrow I am meeting friends for coffee that will probably turn into lunch so I am not expecting much to be done.
@flamingo747 sorry I have no experience of travel sickness so can't offer any advice, good luck
Hugs to everyone who would like one

Very busy at SA today - officers are away so my friend - the community manager was to cook. However a very needy woman arrived who she needed to be with so I was cook. The very large trays of shepherd's pie were heavy and I was worried about timing to have everything ready at noon. Cooking for 40 in the small SA kitchen is trying. All ended well and the meal was lovely.
Off on a week's holiday tomorrow.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Few frogs edging forward. Copying extracts from my mum's old school magazines as I met her friend's twin daughters, (older than me) and there are lots of poems and stories by their mum (and a lino cut - a consistent theme in the magazines). I missed a few so have to go through again.Boss recognises I'm doing long hours which is good but have to manage these better. DD1 said she wants a couple of glasses I was going to pass on (she now has a dish washer in flat so needs more crockery.. Hoping to drop things off at the weekend.
1685 - some rounding up and down going on!
