Checking in briefly before going to history meeting. Homework all done in advance so ready to just pick up and go. I am 'looking after' the medals and stars Mrs SD has awarded my family who have been encouraged to join in. Went on visit to various shops yesterday morning and resisted buying anything except a bacon sandwich for early lunch. Did go out food and other shopping with DS2 later.
1502-1504 Three bags to CS shops
1505 Went and got outdoor storage box/cupboard for pool - I now need to empty and clean pool
1506 DS2 got spare oil filled radiator to work so I can use if needed in my new study/utility room. Good job I didn't waste money on new
1507 Last of October cards posted. I have started buying November cards - I have 5 close family birthdays first week of November.
Just picked the car keys up to leave for history meeting when I had a sudden thought and checked diary. Not at 10am but 2pm this afternoon. It's my age.2025 Decluttering Campaign 697/2025 🏅🏅🏅🏅(🏅🏅) 🌟🌟

very proud, his new medal and t-shirt are welcome additions to our house. He has raised about £400 I believe.

Second drum filled, with clothes from about 7 full bin liners and a moving box. I've kept a few very nice items separate, to sell, to recover the cost of sending both drums to Africa.

Good morning all, 👋
Still far more in than out here, but I keep reminding myself about how much I donated or binned before I moved.
In has been a robot vacuum, a luxury I know but with 2 long haired cats I’m hoping it will help me keep on top of all the fluff. In my defence I did get it in the Am4zon sale courtesy of my son’s prime account. I’ve also had to buy a coat for winter; it’s wetter, windier and a bit colder here than SW France! I’m pleased to say that I found one I was happy with, half price in the Reg*tta sale.
I have though, decluttered more money to the solicitors; this time for the coalfields search. But it shows that things are progressing. Another step closer to getting my cats out of the cattery and my boxes out of storage and finally joining the declutterati full time. 😁
These last few years have seen me really rethink what I want, I guess partly because of my age and partly because I’ve had the time and had to put a (moving) price on everything. I’ve realised that I am not a minimalist and never will be, so I have to concentrate on how to store but have access to all the things I want to do. I will therefore have to be realistic about what I will actually do and that is going to be the hard part. 😱
For now the hardest part is not buying more for the house – I need to be in the house before I buy my bed, mattress, bedding etc.. 🤣
Well done everyone on their decluttering. Reading about everyone here keeps me motivated to want to ensure that I don’t keep too much of Justin’s and May’s items that sneaked into the packing boxes when I finally get round to unpacking all my boxes.

Seriously, is there anything more joyful than being awarded a medal or star in Mrs sds updates? Not just given out willy-nilly so you always feel its a well earned reward for something worthwhile. Just the type of cluttering I like 💘 😻
Thank you Mrs sd

I had a chat with dd1 (15) about the 3 bottles of shower gel she has in the bathroom; she will now focus on finishing them 1 by 1 and only having 1 in use (I threatened to help her finish by using them myself; there is a very nice Rituals one there
).

Hi all, feel like I have finally decluttered the headache from the covid booster. I was hoping that my body would have been used to it by now. Anyhow over the last few days I have emptied the bedroom bin, the bedroom recycling, the lr bin twice and the bathroom bin. The lr bin I emptied and OH promptly filled it again with rubbish from the table in the corner where various things had accumulated and I had studiously ignored
I have uu a candle, now the dark evenings are coming in I like a candle on the fireplace hearth. It makes me feel warmer
. I have done 3 loads of washing, 2 are finishing off on the maiden from yesterday and 1 is on the line but it is forecast to be sunny today, not that it has appeared through the clouds yet but it does feel warmer today than yesterday. I will not count these yet as they are not finished.
Yesterday OH went to visit the baby and took 8 of the stuffed toys that had been washed with instructions to bring back any that were not wanted as I didn't want to just be passing things along for someone else to store, and they would be taken to the cs. OH's niece said she liked them all and kept them all. I also sent along the baby's first christmas babygro I bought in January sales for 20p reduced from about £20 iirc
, aged 6 - 9 months but the rate he's growing might have been too small so I thought it would be better used than not
. Mum did think it was cute and might fit him as he will only be 7 month's by christmas.
I also had a telephone meeting with a very nice lady from ACAS. We now know dates for when certain actions should happen so I will have to keep a close eye on my emails. Friend's daughter is very happy with it so far
I have tried to catch up but I must confess my brain is still scrambledso I will just say hugs to anybody who would like one.
1379 bedroom bin emptied
1380 bedroom recycling emptied

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks to include MMiM - do this before I go to bed
2. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ I have an acronym - I.R.I.S. being Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off
3. Implement a new sleep/wake up regime - start going to bed earlier (target before 2:00 a.m.) get up earlier (target by 9:00 a.m.)
4. Deal with ‘Urgent’ daily mail immediately & the rest at the weekend
5. Don’t put it down, put it away
6. If I spot a mini task deal with it immediately e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
7. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Good morning my fellow declutterati 😊 I was up at 11:00 this bright not quite so chilly Tuesday 🙂Temperature is 14C & will reach the heady heights of 15C later 😉 I had a lovely surprise this morning - a postcard from my nephews who are/have been getting some sunshine in the Maldives with their mum & dad (my DB) Apparently the boys are using/have used some of the monies I sent over to pay for a couple of extra trips out 😊 I will enjoy my first cuppa & catching up with this morning’s cheerleading before getting dressed 😉
Great work TC77 👏 You seem to be getting into a routine of doing something before heading off to work 😊 Every little helps 👏
Great work GrannyKate 👏 Very please that you checked your diary before heading off 😊 Four hours waiting around would not have been a pleasant experience 😔 At least this way you have time for a bit more decluttering 😉
Excellent decluttering 2Scratters 👏 Well done on getting the flask as clean as new & also dealing with a frog 👏 Such a shame about the parking fine 😔 You would have thought that a warning note would have been sufficient especially as you had a blue badge 😔 - I would be a rubbish parking attendant/traffic warden 😂 As you say an expensive lesson learned 😔
Well done Mr Flamingo 👏🥳 flamingo747, I think all your cheering from the sidelines spurred him on to such a great time 🥹 I am adding a virtual medal 🏅 as a well done - less polishing required 😉 Hope you have managed to warm up since Sunday, flamingo747 🤞
Excellent work filling the 2nd drum, Siebrie 👏 Wishing you every success with the selling to cover shipping costs 😊
It sounds like things are moving along nicely dND 😊 I am still keeping everything crossed that the 3 month estimate of a moving date is only the solicitor & estate agent being cagey & that you will be able to move in well before Christmas 🤞I remember how much decluttering you did & also the issue of waiting for the local farmers decision re your land 😔 which made organising your move from France to Wales such a rush 😔 So I am not surprised that a few Justins & Mays managed to sneak into boxes 😉 Like you I am not nor ever could be a minimalist but at least our decluttering journeys mean that we are also aware that in certain areas of our lives ‘less is more’ & we probably aren’t in danger of becoming maximalists 😅 With the purchase of your new coat (well done on buying in the sale 👏), I am now imagining you in a brightly coloured coat striding through the Welsh countryside in the wind & rain staying perfectly dry & warm 😊
You are so kind daisy_1571 - I am blushing so much 😊 that I look a bit like a tomato 🍅 🙊
Siebrie, I love it 😊 I imagine DD1 will hide the Rituals shower gel (just to stop you helping her out 😉) whilst she finishes using up the other 2 😉
Liverpool_Anne, sorry to hear that your adverse reaction to the Covid booster has lasted so long 😔 Excellent work keeping up with the daily round of emptying bins 👏 & very well done on “studiously ignoring” the table clutter & ‘allowing’ OH to declutter 😉 Now the the next stage of OH’s training can begin - emptying the bin 😅 What a lucky baby - lots of cuddly toys & new clothes as well 😊 What a bargain - 20p not £20 👏Really cannot understand a) how such huge prices are warranted & b) why anyone would actually buy at such inflated prices 🤔 Really good news that the ACAS meeting went so well 😊 no wonder your friend’s daughter is happy so far 😊 Fingers crossed that everything happens as & when it should 🤞 Cwtches to both of you 🤗
That took slightly longer than I thought so I will sign off with Good afternoon & I hope everyone has the best day they can 😊
