I bought some compression gloves as I read they are supposed to help with osteoarthritis as I have it in my hands. I wore them out the other day when I went walking in the local woods and I have three little scratches on one of my hands when I took them off. I read online that they might be too tight if that happens, but they didn't feel too tight and I checked and I bought medium and my hands are fairly thin (compared to the rest of me!) and the window for returning them to Amazon is over so they went in a donation bag.
I looked through my wardrobe again and added two jumpers and two dresses to the bag. I will take them tomorow as I have reflexology this morning.15 -
Lots of donated food last night to sort out at SA.
Mr F has gone off to catch the first of 3 buses to attend an audio appointment at a hospital 17 miles away. He has left here sporting a tattoo on his forehead for Anti Slavery Day - it says - " We Are Not For Sale "
I am off soon to SA to work at friendship/lunch club. I will be wearing a tattoo too.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

How long is the flight? There are travel sickness tablets the child could take. Best is to get the child to sleep, but I'm not sure if that's feasable. Lots of sturdy, closeable plastic bags on hand.

Hi all, managed to get all the washing sorted yesterday
. As the weather is now getting colder and more unpredictable I will have to be more organised with the washing as it is probably all going to be put on the maiden to dry. Sorted through some random bits of paper so bedroom recycling emptied. I am on the last page of my notebook so I have sorted out another part used one to use up next. I do have a few as I used different note books for different things when I was working but find it easier to just use one now for everything except my union stuff. . I also broke up and recycled a large cardboard box from something OH had had delivered. We seem to have accumulated quite a few since my last cull so I will be sorting through these today.
I spoke to my dniece who is now back in Bequia getting ready for their first guests who arrive 1st November so busy doing tidying up jobs. Her fil is in hospital having had a fall and broken his hip. They have operated but he is quite poorly and the Drs are asking if they want to take him home to die. I find this very disturbing as there seems to be no thought of treating him to keep him alive. He has dementia and diabetes and often won't eat so is just fading away. They need to use a hoist to get him out of bed and he can't do any physio as he can't stand by himself so needs a wheelchair.The family can't take him home as he would obviously need 24/7 care which even with rotas for all the family and the 4 hours a day they pay a carer can't be done. I get the feeling the hospital just want him out of their bed which is probably understandable as he is in a surgical ward but to try to just send him home seems unfeeling. The family have said no he can't come home and are now waiting to see what else can be sorted. I suspect he will be moved to a palliative care ward if they have one, I know these exist in the hospitals locally to me but who knows what the situation is in their hospital. It is very sad and worrying. Dniece's DH will probably have to fly back fairly soon but Dniece probably won't be able to come as apart from the visit from my dsis they have bookings right through until the middle of March and she will have to stay to look after them. It all made me feel a bit depressed but all we can do is look forward and keep going.
@TC77, re the pillowcase I would soak it in a bucket of warm water with some washing soda dissolved in it then try a normal wash and dry in the sun if you can. I am not an expert but you could also try the ladies on the fashion on the ration thread who have all sorts of experience with all things like this.
Right off to do something, hugs to anybody who would like one

1399 large cardboard box recycled
Take care everyone

@Siebrie
They say no fizzy drinks (belch!) and no fried foods before. That said if I feel queasy a fizzy drink and salty french fries (McDs) are exactly what works for me. What always used to set me off (& almost still does) is trying to read in a car or on a rough flight. As for boats.....in the past it was always a case of being out on deck on the cross channel ferry. That said I surprised myself going to Ireland a year back and was fine - OH had booked us "lounge seats" so I was able to lay back and think pleasant thoughts and it helped that the sea wasn't too rough either way.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards.
