Morning,
Think I've been missing a couple of days. Realise not been eating properly being on my own and feel fatigued so going to try harder.
Mrs SD, the baking sounds great and I assume you are chief taster.
I'm going to post a pic in the hope it motivates me, although just one area. Been very busy ( excuses) and bene trying to change summer/ winter clothes nd duvets.
This is just one area, although have to tidy other places to have somewhere to put the storage bags/ boxes.20 -
Realise that other places are equally bad quite embarrassed but posting as other key area. Dining table us much clearer but boxes etc as I am moving things from place to place.

Morning All, beautiful blue skies here but rather fresh. First time yesterday evening I wore a proper coat rather than a waterproof, felt bitter with a north wind. The heating is still off though.
Decluttering not overly happening, OH has said some uncomplimentary things about state of the house. 😟 yes it could be a lot more organised and tidier but having a disagreement about it is not going to encourage me to do it, supporting me would be preferable. I can be very stubborn 😅 That said we did have a nice date day together on Friday with a relaxing swim, lunch out and shopping. I treated myself to some new clothes but need to declutter a few from wardrobe. Something I always struggle with is decluttering my own clothes.

So the good news is I have a date from the hospital (week after next) but theyve told me to isolate "as much as possible" as if I get covid it isn't good apparently. So work have signed me off sick from tomorrow, that gives me 10 days at home! I'll have to keep busy decluttering to take my mind off it all.Magnolia Stellata19

Stellata, great news re hospital date.
TC77 - just a suggestion and v happy for you to ignore it, but instead of continuing to move things around, would it work to take everything up to the attic room and sort it all from there?
You could put like with like as you do it, then maybe before tackling the attic room, sort out cupboards in all the other rooms first so that you have space to put things you want to keep?
My thinking is that your home will be more enjoyable to be in whilst you do the work, giving you the incentive to let things go and it will give you space to declutter each room's storage.
What triggered this thought was the bag of toilet rolls - if bathrooms are too cluttered to store these, then they will continue to be moved around. This will be happening with other things that are necessary to keep but don't yet have a proper home.
Maybe start with an easier room ie a bathroom. Maybe put things that you want to use up in a clearly labelled box in the attic room, ensuring that it remains accessible and shop from home until everything is used. If things definitely won't be used, let them go - it's easier to take a boxful to a women's refuge than individual items so tackle the bathroom as a whole, fill the donation box etc all at once and get it to it's new home asap.
I have been away from home for 5 weeks now and it really has hammered home how little we actually need versus how much we think we need.Decluttering Awards: 🏅🏅20 -
I also got a letter yesterday saying my hospital appointment had been moved forward. It was January next year, but it has been brought forward to the start of this November.
I did find quite a few new jumpers at the charity shop yesterday, but I'm not going to declutter my wardrobe again as I just did it the other day.
I haven't painted the shed yet!
I am about to clean the dust out of all the radiators so I can test the heating works tonight as it felt very chilly last night. I think cold weather is going to be a shock as it has been so mild and warm so far this autumn.15 -
Ocean spirit that’s a great idea! TC77 best of luck.
I don’t know if this helps but when I am overwhelmed I pick the thing that is bothering me the most and then the next thing. Like most people I have a list as long as my arm but not the energy to devote lots of time after a full days work. However now that the daylight is finishing earlier so gardening will be limited, I’ll be able to concentrate on my list more.⭐️⭐️⭐️🥇🥇🥇 2024 decluttering
