Wednesday has started dull & overcast with temperature set to reach 13C - It is going to be a real shock to me when temperatures start falling. I had been intending to go out but didn’t get up until just before noon so will settle for catching up with the cheerleading 😉 Fortunately the wheelie bin has been emptied so I have at least done something i.e. put in new black bin liner 🙂
2Scratters, what a lovely comment “QueenJess it is nice to "hear" you smiling. Your cleaning cupboard is smiling back at you too. Satisfaction is a marvelous feeling. Well done” 😊 + a great idea ajmoney to dispose of the conifer 👏
Wednesday2000, hopefully you have done enough to stave off the cold 🤞It sounds like the workmen are doing a good job taking up the laminate but surely they should be responsible for taking it away 😉 Although I imagine that you are more than happy for it to be taken away by the bulk waste chap 👏😊
Wow Siebrie 🤩 That is impressive work 👏 No wonder the hairdresser charges so much 😥 Please use at least a small amount of the monies saved to give yourself a treat 🙏 You deserve some TLC as well 😊
Excellent work GrannyKate 👏 Decluttering, tasks completed & even lots of techie stuff done 🥳
Brie, we are definitely honoured to have weenancy on this thread - she is not only a published author but also one of the loveliest people you could ever wish to meet 😊
~FlowerPot~ sorry to hear that the meds for your face have such worrying side effects 😔 Hopefully the meds review yesterday went well & you will soon be fully recovered🤞 Excellent electronic decluttering 👏
Excellent decluttering Brie 👏
EnergyShifter, Monday was definitely a very productive & busy day 😊 Good luck with the bathroom renovation 🍀 Excellent decluttering 👏 & I see that you are still maintaining more than a 3 out, 1 in policy 🥳
Floss, I agree that “brainwork” takes a lot of effort 😥
Great decluttering Happy_Kitties 👏 I have every confidence that you will hit your 350 target 😊
TC77, it was a real relief to finally speak to R 😊 I had let my imagination run riot 😞 Sounds like you had a very enjoyable Sunday evening 😊 a bit of R&R to set you up for the week ahead (even though it was a late night 😉) Well done on releasing a wombled item to a new home 👏Perhaps next year you could set the target as 10 medium to large items out & then you can womble ONE item 😉
-taff, lovely comment for weenancy 😊 You had a very busy Monday - excellent work with both the decluttering & cleaning 👏 Very impressed that you managed to clear the table & spring or should that be autumn clean the kitchen - a medal 🏅 is on its way 🙂
You are welcome GrannyKate 😊 ‘Project Move Round’ seems to be going very well as I see DS2 has started decorating your new bedroom 4 👏 Excellent decluttering 👏 Hope the weather is kind & that you enjoy the family trip to the ‘local wildlife place’ 🤞
wort, thanks for the useful information re wax melts 👏
Madbat60 “Well turns out retiring and being frugal makes you really busy. I've been harvesting the crops from the garden. So far bags of celery are in the freezer, took me hours to clean and chop. I've pickled beetroot and made chilli jam, which is lush albeit a bit fierce. My peapod wine is in the demijohn bubbling away and I've decanted 6 bottles of merlot I made from a kit into wine bottles I saved. It's drinkable. I've had worse from a shop. I will leave it to mature a bit.” Wow, you have been busy 🤩 So busy & productive that I am awarding you a Gold Star ⭐️ Very well done on your perseverance re W*ck*s !!!! - very MSE 😊 It sounds like you are not only doing rather well on building up some savings but are also managing to reduce your outgoings by judicious use of your fabric stash & B**ts points 👏 Money might be tight but it sounds like you are rather enjoying the challenge 😊 Congratulations to DS on his new job 🥳 it must be such a relief to not be working zero hours contracts 😮💨 Hope you had a great Tuesday 🙂
Floss, great idea but the last time we did that MrS gave us a replacement which she did’t/couldn’t/wouldn’t use 😔 so it was donated to a food bank 🙂
I have caught up a couple of pages but am now struggling to concentrate 😉 So will post this, watch an episode of Silent Witness & then return 🤞

Hi everyone ☺️ survived Disneyland, though it had some fraught moments as well as some highlights! Huge queue at CDG made the journey back a bit more stressful than needed.
Hope all are well. Today is a recoup day, only tackling 3x washing!
Decluttering... hmm, not actually gotten rid of anything, however I did say no to a lot of souvenirs I might normally have bought, buying for myself only one specific pin badge. DSIL bought me a fridge magnet, some sweets, and a second pin badge. I have to work on not bringing alot in, as well as getting a lot out.Married 40y.o. mum of an autistic 11y.o. Carer/SAHM.

Just logged on rather late today as electric off earlier for workmen. Lovely but very very wet day out yesterday at Yorkshire Wildlife park. Big group of us went and I bought tickets (ouch) but DS 2 bought drinks and snacks and a pub meal for us all on the way home. Think everyone enjoyed themselves. A lot of the animals were keeping dry inside but the polar bears and sea lions were all out.
Floss congrats on paying off mortgage - I remember that day and thought back on that day to 45 years earlier when we took on our first mortgage. Late FIL was very sceptical of people like us buying a house as DH had a blue collar job then. We had an endowment mortgage for this current property but actually saw the writing on the wall (it would not pay everything off) and changed to half repayment then full repayment so there was just one payment due when DH was offered voluntary redundancy at 64 so we took it. A lovely day when property deeds arrived in the post. The money from the endowments paid off all our credit cards and car loan but would not have paid all the mortgage. I know I am very lucky to own my home outright but wish late DH had had longer to enjoy his early retirement - just 6 years. He worked so hard to keep those payments up so I could stay at home when children were small.
Sister in USA eventually got her new washing machine and drier fitted after waiting 4 months for delivery - at which point her 20 year old dishwasher gave up the ghost. I'm sure these appliances speak to each other.
DGD3 came Monday and has stayed over so DGD4 was pleased as they are at school together and get on well. She is going home tomorrow.
1591 Banking done
1592 First coat of paint in new bedroom 4 - a white emulsion we already had in garage to cover quite dark colour before painting grey
1593 Drove DGS4 to nearby town to get his promised Lego set - he had saved his birthday money and added extra to make it up from a few jobs around the house - very happy small boy
1594 Picked up birthday present for DGD3 and a birthday card for a party next weekend while we were there
1595 EV charger fitted for DS2's work van
DS2 is cooking tea and I'm decluttering some red wine that was sitting in the kitchen.

DH went to MrS to try again to find DSis’s milk & DSis went out as well. 3rd scarf finished 🙂 Neither DSis nor DH managed to find any milk. At one point DH was chasing my DSis round As*a - she was oblivious to his presence 😉 DH has filled the bird feeders yet again 😥 I finally phoned our plumber but had to leave a message. He is such a lovely man - he called back 90 minutes later & will turn up sometime Saturday to do the boiler service (as he is in our area) 😊 So much for only watching one episode of SW 🙊

What a lovely post Liverpool_Anne 😊 I think I need to co-opt you for some cheerleading in between your decluttering & RL 😁 What an enjoyable time with family 😊 I do so love it when babies are so interested in conversations & join in 😆 Fingers crossed that the new pavement surface is permeable 🤞as you can do without any additional risk of flooding 😔 By the way, excellent decluttering 👏 & I do hope that your impromptu clearing & cleaning of your fridge has rid it of the unwanted pong 🤞
Soontobeoap, lovely chatty post 😊 Good luck with learning to knit 🍀 Maybe you can find a local class if you are unable to learn from the internet 😉 I only mention this as I have tried using the internet (unsuccessfully) to learn how to crochet 😔 I definitely need hands on teaching 🙂
DigSunPap, so nice to see you again 👋 Looking forward to accompanying you on your decluttering journey 😊
Liverpool_Anne, I would just be thankful that it didn’t disappear into the ether 😉
Brie, I did have to laugh at your “What's his is mine and vice versa and all that” 😂 My version is ‘what’s his is mine, & what’s mine is my own’ 🤣although I think we might/should probably have a joint account at some point after 31 years of marriage 😉😉 Hopefully your woodworking colleague can find some time to sort out the ‘risers’ on your desk 🤞
dND, I do feel for you being a Christmas baby 😞 My step cousin has one child born on 23rd December & one born on the 25th 😔 As an early birthday present here are some 💐 & 🎂
Congratulations on decluttering your mortgage Floss 🥳
Excellent decluttering TC77 👏 You definitely have the bit between your teeth 😊
Great decluttering EnergyShifter 👏 Shame about the extra work required for the bathroom renovation 😔 but definitely more efficient to get it done now 🙂 Hopefully it won’t add too much time or cost 🤞
Well that is another page caught up 😉 but now need to decide on dinner 😥 Will try to return later 🤞

Box of bits sorted for Ziffit and I’m feeling a bit smug as I also benefit from their October 15% extra code as the trade was over £10! Hi all, quick pop in as I have to be up early tomorrow, taking a friend to the airport.
Today I have been out and about doing various tasks. I have booked the car in for an MOT. It's not due until 23rd November but I will be in Dorset then so needs to be done before I go. Then I went to the sm, small shop and checked if the currency was in, no and no idea when they might get it so I went to a travel agency who have a bureau do change and asked there. I was served by one of the members of staff that obviously was more experienced in applying make up than actually listening to what the customer wanted grrr. Anyhow after the intervention of 2 other members of staff I managed to make it clear what I wanted, ( no that is too much, no I don't want to get US dollars instead grrrr), and on the advice of another member of staff she phoned someone who took the order for the currency and said they will get it but not before Friday at the earliest. She then gave them the wrong name even though I had spelt it out for her, twice!!!!. So I said I will call in on Saturday even though she said she would phone me when it comes in but she didn't inspire confidence, nor did the scrappy notebook she was using. Then I went to the bank and stood in a very long queue to speak to someone who was very helpful when I got to her..
Home and 2 loads of washing done, currently on the maiden but previous load sorted. OH wears a clean pair of jeans every day and they are the devil to get dry at this time of year. I tidied the top of the gas cupboard, again, and put away various items deposited by OH including a bottle of wine from a pupil who had passed her test, gathered all OH's post and other bits of paper and asked that they be dealt with, I just put them on the couch. Emptied the kitchen recycling bin, I had to give a small shove to fit it in the wheelie bin. Then various text messages and emails dealt with to progress the ACAS frog which took a fair while. Now at the stage where we are starting to negotiate for compensation
.
I reread my post from the other day and I just want to say I am not making foreigners from left over wax, I will be making firelightersisn't auto correct marvellous
Right off to bed, busy day tomorrow, airport run, coffee postponed from last week and then footy match in the evening. Hugs to everyone who would like one

1423 banking sorted
1424 cleared gas cupboard
1425 OH's mail dealt with, claiming as I had to nag again

weenancy, that is a lot of December birthdays 😥 What a lovely Monday despite the rain 😊 Lunch, gifts & celebrations 😊 Wow, that is very impressive from 10 names to 1258 names 🤩 An inauspicious start to Tuesday 😔 I have everything crossed that it improved immensely 🤞
charlies_tribe, so sorry to hear that another virus has managed to get into your home 😔 “…… but just wanted to post before I got to the point I think its been too long since I last posted so don't post, yes my mind works in weird ways.” I work exactly that way with phone calls so I don’t think your mind works in weird ways at all 😉 Shame about the dishwasher but how fortuitous that DD1 had a spare 😉 Sorry to hear that you were badly affected by the storm 😔 but pleased to hear that you & your family stayed safe 😮💨
-taff congratulations on reaching a turning point 👏 Now, if you could just bottle that particular decluttering syndrome, you could sell it & make a fortune 😅 Definitely worth a medal 🏅

Wednesday2000, there was me thinking DirectLine were an excellent company 😞 just goes to show how wrong I was. That is appalling service - 8 months & the job still isn’t completed 😖 Well done that man from the council 👏 Good luck with your complaint & hopefully DirectLine will have the good grace to offer compensation 🤞
oceanspirit, hope you enjoyed your time away 😊 Well done on catching up with post, laundry & putting away 👏 Wishing you a good outcome from your 2 week hospital stay.

My craft shed is leaking with all of this rain! 😕. A lot of stuff is being stored down there for christmas and a lot of it has been made by the ladies in my craft group. I have a lot of stuff in plastic crates but some had just been put down there in carrier bags. I was so worried about what I would find when I went down there that it became a bit of a frog. Yesterday afternoon, I bravely ventured down!
All of my ladies crafts were safe, I had, stored them under a table. Fortunately for me I had not cleared up as well as usual and 2 thick newspapers were left on the floor. They had soaked all the rain up and saved most of the stuff around them. I did clear out one bin bag of paper, card and fabric that was not saveable. Mainly cardboard boxes so no great loss. I need to work on the back wall today. Thats where most of the rain has come through so I am a bit worried about what I will find. Managed to fit bin bag into neighbours bin as mine was full and the bin men have just collected it. I am going to transport christmas fair stuff up to social club ready for packing and display followed by safe storage.
Took one big bag of clothes to charity shop yesterday so thats another 2 big bags out for me. 😊

Yesterday afternoon, dds and I went to visit a church friend who houses the overflow from her brother's animal sanctuary; she has 2 dogs and 2 cats of her own (all rescues), and had 4 chihuahuas/pomeranians as guests! Sooo cute. We had a walk around the block, dds bathed 2 of the small dogs and then we had an hour's cuddle with the dogs and a chat with the friend. An excellent way to spend a rainy afternoon!
