Sorry to hear people are going through the mill. I'm quite well although I seem to have cluttered a cold. Not covid though (tested this morning), and lovely and sunny out so hopefully that will help send it packing.
I'm up to 335 things out but 96 in, which takes me to 239 net. Slightly shocked to realise that means I've bought something new to me roughly every third day so did some quick analysis (not beating myself up about this or making excuses btw, but I am a nerd and have an excel spreadsheet. It's interesting to see how it just accumulates) - 21 things were gifts or freebies. (Some of those went straight out again, I'm afraid, like the too large socks or the football pencil sharpener). 6 were replacements for broken things - computer, mixing bowl and so on (actually it was a relief the mixing bowl broke, it was one of those big mason cash things, looked great but was uncomfortably high when set on the counter and uncomfortably big and heavy to hold when stirring). 23 were secondhand, mostly books, 25 were what I'd call needs.
My only real regret though is the cheap mini screwdriver set with the changeable heads, bought from the shop that has now gone bust. I should have realised it was too cheap to be any good. Maybe it could go in the recycling.
A quick analysis of the bits out shows, unsurprisingly, second hand books again, and stuff I should have got rid of years ago. Old cables, old bedding, old clothes, old bills, old dried up oil paints and small denomination stamps not worth changing up for barcode ones (I kept a few though, just put them all on one sheet to save space). There's still a lot of stuff here - unused notebooks, colourful post its, far too many socks, 30 small bottles of fountain pen ink, books I've had for years and never read, DVDs despite my no longer owning anything that plays DVDs - but I do feel more on top of it each year.Fashion on the Ration 2025 - 1.5 coupons remaining

I am sorry to hear about your job Queen Jess. I hope you can leave it behind a little and have a nice weekend with the family.Moorviews, I hear you sister with other peoples cleaning products. Being an old hippy I have only ever used damp cloth dusting and natural cleaning products with the exception of bleach! I love me a bleach frenzy. 🤣
Thursday I made 20 party sprouts and yesterday I made 5 knitted slippers. I think there is enough wool to make another 3. A drop in the ocean with my craft stash but they might make a few quid for charity. I will put a pic on of “the girls” wearing knitted slippers last fakemas. Christmas but not on Christmas.Although it is dry today the ground isn’t so I may put gardening off until tomorrow.Lots of washing on the cards today, including an old school wool blanket from my Mum’s. I have some pompon trim I fancy jazzing it up with. It is great having the time and peace to do some crafts. When Mr V is here he wants to go out all the time. I am much more of a home body
I hope things are on a more even keel for people than of late
Take care Vx:19 -
Been raining here since early evening so a day for indoor jobs. I've been through wardrobe, going to do drawers next. Pile of stuff to go, only clothes that like and that fit are left on the rail, tidy shelves where my scarves, handbags and xmas tshirts. I've also kept xmas stuff from earlier in the year for charity shops, must look that out and it can go soon too.
Daisy xx

I have missed so many pages, you guys must have been busy!
I had a lovely day out yesterday. We met the couple we know from east London where we used to live and met for the first time her brother who was over from Ireland. I had a vegan cheese, tomato and pesto panini and potato wedges. Then half of two little vegan cakes at a cafe by Leigh-on-Sea beach. Unfortunately the tide was out as it seems to be whenever we go out around here, lol!
Our patio is finished now and I am making the pile outside for the bulky waste and the man from the council is coming round next week to give us an estimate on the price.
I am going to go through our wardrobes again tomorrow and I also am thinking of getting a second hand store owner round to see if they will offer us a price on some furniture we want donated. I'm also going to look around the house as there is some random clutter that I never use and want to donate so I'm going to start a donation bag.
I can't be bothered to do anything today as I'm tired from walking around yesterday. I am about to watch the most recent Sort Your Life Out. I think this is the last episode!

Had a lovely time showing the 11 year old A how to use her sewing machine. A had it as a Christmas present and it was still in the box. Apparently someone was meant to teach her but cancelled and another woman didn't turn up. I took some fabric bits with me - squares of a striped sheet so she can practice straight lines. I also found some fabric with swirly lines so A can practice sewing curves.
A was nervous - a front loading bobbin is not easy for a beginner. I took along some reels of cotton for her from my ROD. I taught A - threading the machine - I did it and then she had to plus winding a bobbin and changing a needle. A's mum offered to pay for a taxi home for me - I declined as I enjoy walking - quite a way to the bus stop and I travel better on a bus than in a car.
We went to prayer breakfast this morning - I was helping to serve the full English meal. Ja came round to sort out the leak - hopefully it is now fixed.
Mr F's hospital letter didn't arrive today.
I am back at SA this afternoon as a music group are using the hall and I am helping with refreshments.
This evening I will be back at SA to take in the food waste delivery.
