Daisy no you haven’t sworn in Welsh! I do however know some German swear words - we lived in Germany for a while and my mum worked in a German canteen and picked up rather a lot of German…..which I then copied 🤣🤣🤣
seems most of us are having issues this week. Weenancy you are much more patient than me- I’d have turfed the cat plus my ruined bedding at the cats owner with “your cat your mess you deal with it”.
Hubby is still ill- dr said labrynthitis 😳 which can take ages to go. Hubby was very snarky with me today so I sent him to bed and told him to stay there. Dogs are very cwtchy today bless. I think the weather is due a big change!
Decluttering this week…..my patience, tons and tons of paid work, normal rubbish and cardboard.

QueenJess said:Thanks everyone for your lovely supportive replies. I talked to my boss again today (I feel like I'm not getting any work done dealing with all this stuff) and even he doesn't know how to deal with it as he's perfectly happy for people to leave early to pick up kids etc (and he was the one who originally told me never to bother coming in because it wasn't worthwhile). The traffic is so awful around the office, that even he has to leave early to do pick ups as he can't do his 15 min journey in less than an hour at rush hour. Feel a bit sorry for him as he doesn't really know how to deal with all this stuff and the lack of further communication is I suspect purposely making it difficult for people. So I am trying to take the approach of ignoring it and not caring (still working on the latter as I am still very p*ssed off). I will be in the office on the stipulated days, but around when I have to pick up kids and if I need to be out for kids plays, parents evening etc then I will be. Would take them ages to get around to getting rid of me and it is borderline illegal due to discrimination anyway. In the meantime I will be job hunting. However, my resignation is written ready and if it all gets too hard, then I will just hand in my resignation and live off some savings I have in the meantime
For myself in your situation I would be doing all communication by email either before or after discussing in person or by phone just so your doubly cover yourself in case it gets to the extra cranky stage.
(for myself I've had managers who have allowed me compassion time off to deal with cats being very ill as well as giving me about 6 times the leave that was standard for a family member dying. @QueenJess lots of good advice, sadly I've always hung in there to the detriment of my wellbeing and have someone giving me lots of stress and do think I could go freelance ( decades of experience) but feel left too late as not so many years to pension!
Nearly didn't take an early hospital appt as so busy at work but prioritised it- all done in my lunchtime as 10 mins from hospital, also posted card to friend overseas, posted a return and 2 items back to pharmacy!14 -
Evening All, I tend to catch up on thread before bed and love how supportive everyone is to each other.
@flamingo747 they are 2 of my favourite programmes. @QueenJess shocking what your company is expecting. We are hybrid working with 2 days in the office per week and all 1-2-1's, appraisals, team meetings in person but there is discretion, flexibility and common sense also applied. Real life happens, people have family and caring commitments, appointments and deliveries. I only live 5 miles from the office but can take 30-60 minutes driving and bus longer.
Work is very busy so have survived this week, flagged to my boss that team is stressed and working over capacity yet again.
Aim is to do some decluttering over the weekend. I can only try!14 -
1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks to include MMiM - do this before I go to bed
2. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ I have an acronym - I.R.I.S. being Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off
3. Implement a new sleep/wake up regime - start going to bed earlier (target before 2:00 a.m.) get up earlier (target by 9:00 a.m.)
4. Deal with ‘Urgent’ daily mail immediately & the rest at the weekend
5. Don’t put it down, put it away
6. If I spot a mini task deal with it immediately e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
7. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
I wrote DH a smallish shopping list & sent him to the sm 😉 DSis has an appointment at the surgery in a while - diabetes chat I believe. Just to add to her health issues, the lung scan she had was clear of the C word but has highlighted both slight emphysema & calcification of arteries 😥 Yet more appointments in the offing 😔 DH got back & everything put away. I spent the afternoon watching Silent Witness. Two loads of washing dried outside but the 3rd load was tumble dried. I have one more load to do but will sort tomorrow & hopefully dry outside 🤞Dinner was oven baked salmon, boiled potatoes, peas & sweetcorn 😋 Wudupa.
2103 - 2104 Kitchen recycling, drinks cans - recycled

Lovely supportive post daisy_1571 👏 Just the Welsh word for cuddle 🥰 or hug 🤗 - although I am not sure how it is pronounced 😉
Lovely post dND 👏 It sounds like the house purchase is coming along well 🤞 Do you have exchange & completion dates yet? Another pin on her map of library membership for the Anaheim head librarian 😊
retiredinfrance, hope the weather warms up a little 🤞Here in London we are having another warm spell which is set to last until Thursday when nighttime temperatures will fall to single figures & daytime temps will only reach the high teens. Seems like we are having another Indian summer 🙂
Lovely to see you Pennypincin 👋 No need to apologise, RL has a habit of interrupting our decluttering journey 😔 Good luck with your exam resit 🍀 Congratulations on your successful slimming 👏 I hope that you will be treating yourself to some ‘new to you’ clothes 😊
flamingo747, a very restrained description of QueenJess’s employers 😉 Maybe you were a diplomat in a previous life 😉 Very pleased to hear that you are feeling better 😊 Please make the most of your quiet weekend before the hustle & bustle that is coming up 😉
Excellent decluttering GrannyKate 👏 Hope you managed to complete the frog 🤞
Siebrie, shame about the flour but no good persevering with something that is not to your taste 😔Very impressed that you are no longer folding your two DD’s clothes 👏 I looked at that dish & can see why you cannot ‘stomach it’ 😬 It looks totally unappealing 🤢 Fingers crossed re the lottery tickets 🤞
Great decluttering flamingo747 👏 Your mention of the metal colander sent me down a rabbit hole of ‘colander v sieve/strainer’ so I now have a better understanding of the correct kitchen tool & uses 😀
2Scratters, not too sure that QueenJess would be able to take time off for interviews, if her employers are being so ‘inconsiderate ’ to their employees 🤔 As you have completed a couple of lists it seems to me that you must have done quite a bit of decluttering 😉
Gers, interesting article 🧐
fritzie-65, sounds like taking such a leap has done you a power of good 😌 Thank you for sharing your experience 👏
Crazycatlady2 next week sounds like a big decluttering week - car & sofa & monies for new car 😉Please be careful with your back 🙏 Lots of rest & only gentle movement 🙏
Florenceem, another couple of busy days 👏 What a kind offer - teaching a young girl how to use her sewing machine 😇 I hope it went well 🤞Fingers crossed that MrF’s hospital letter arrives 🤞
QueenJess, I feel so sorry for your boss - caught between a rock and a hard place 😔 I am just wondering if you & your boss & colleagues are union members? This entire situation stinks to high heaven & so frustrating 😖 Everything crossed that you can find a new job before being forced out & having to rely on your savings 🤞Great decluttering 👏
Muddy_Walker, as long as you know the ‘please, thank you, where is’ as well as the swear words 🤣 I do like your solution to weenancy’s cat predicament 😉 but weenancy has the patience of a saint 😇Sorry to hear that your hubby is still ill 😔 Although I did smile at you sending him to bed - without any supper I hope 😂 Thank goodness for doggy cwtches 😊
Brie, definite food for thought 🤨 A great idea for QueenJess to document any conversations/phone calls 👏 You have definitely been lucky with some great managers 😊
TC77, a very supportive post 😊 Perhaps once you have got on top of your decluttering & the huge frog has finally been laid to rest, you could start investigations into going freelance 🤔 I seem to remember that you will also be looking into moving/downsizing in a couple of years so that might be the ideal time to think more seriously about freelancing 😉 Well done on prioritising your health over work 👏
Fizz2015, lovely comment 😊 The company you are working for appears to have found the correct balance - a very good business model & happy & productive workforce 🥳 Pleased to hear that you have survived a busy week at work and that your boss is aware that you & your team need some respite 😊 Good luck with the weekend decluttering 🍀
Will you look at that - I have caught up 😉
Sleep well everyone 😴

I am sorry to see that some of you are experiencing workplace stresses and troubles- hugs to all.The cupboard in the shower room has been cleared and cleaned out. It took a while to get the solidifying contents out of ancient bottles of shampoo and shower gel. Some old razors and fake tan from DD’s days of living at home plus various grimy oddments binned. To motivate myself in the end, I had to fill a bowl with hot soapy water and set a timer on my phone. I have realised that I find it much harder to deal with other people’s stuff than my own. I’m not sure whether that is because I have had to do so much of this over recent years. The utility room cupboard still awaits. Again, quite a lot of it is cleaning products from other people’s homes which I feel duty bound to use up. It’s taking ages! I am more of a splash of washing up liquid, washing soda, bicarbonate of soda or vinegar person. I seem to have had relatives who enjoyed buying cleaning products more than using them!
I have also gone through all the medicines and taken the out of date ones to the chemist for disposal.Searching through one of my overstuffed drawers for a particular pair of leggings resulted in my turfing the lot out. Several that don’t fit, or that I don’t like, have gone into the charity bag, along with a couple of dresses. Now I can see what I have and everything fits in nicely. I’ll buy a new pair of black leggings, otherwise I don’t need any more leggings or shorts, which is good to know.I washed the bedding, the throws and a big load of towels yesterday. All dried outside and then aired indoors. I don’t keep lots of bed linens now so most just goes back onto the beds. I only keep the number of towels that fit easily into my airing cupboard too.Hope everyone can enjoy the lovely weather this weekend.15 -
Morning, overwhelmed with the massive frog which I have to prepare more documents this weekend for by the start of the week. Also have to find documents and get in order and sort out what i need to copy from 2014! Got in a muddle witha bank transfer and nearly lost the plot on the telephone as all felt too much although should be routine.
Went to pilates which helped and now in a queue at the bank!14 -
Had a lovely time with friend although worn out from all the chatting.
OH is back and has done a sterling job of supervising decorator and blinds fitter at home on my behalf. It looks good on video so am hoping it looks just as good IRL when I get home in 2 weeks time.
Caught up with banking and bill paying this morning. Will deal with more of last week's emails over the weekend then carry on with the backlog to reduce their number.
Continuing with eating food stocks - need to uu as much as we can before going home.

Good morning everyone 🙂 I was up & dressed at 10:30, had my first cuppa to wake up properly & then remembered to put the last load in the wm 😉 I hope everyone is having the same nice weather as I have here - blue skies & sunshine with the temperature already at 20C 😊 I have dealt with today’s mail already - fortunately just filing 😉 DSis is up & dressed & so far is not coughing & sneezing 🤞so hopefully she is starting to recover from her heavy cold 🤞Update - I spoke too soon 😔 3 x LDFPA from yesterday.
Nice to see you Moorviews 👋 I see you have been keeping busy 🙂 Excellent work dealing with the contents of the shower room cupboard 👏 and good luck tackling the cleaning products 🍀 As I read your comment “……….. I seem to have had relatives who enjoyed buying cleaning products more than using them!” I felt a huge grin spreading across my face 😁 Also great work decluttering the contents of an overstuffed drawer 👏 One medal 🏅 is on its way 🙂
TC77, sorry to hear that you have more work to do on the massive frog over the weekend 😔 Keeping everything crossed that all your sorting & organising so far means that you can lay your hands on the 2014 documentation easily & quickly 🤞Pleased to hear that you have relieved some stress by attending a Pilates session & I am sending positive vibes your way that you will soon get to the head of the queue & get your bank transfer sorted 😊
oceanspirit, sounds like you are having a great time 😊 Enjoy the next two weeks - it will be over all too quickly 😉 Fingers crossed that the video has done justice to the finished decorating & new blinds & that everything looks just as good if not better IRL 🤞
Hope you enjoy your weekend in London DundeeDoll 🤞Surprising how much you can get done in 23 minutes especially when you can see the timer ticking down 😉 I did look up AL - did I pick the correct option - is it a programming language? rather than another option that came up as an abbreviation for Alabama 😉
Hope everyone is enjoying their Saturday 😊 Hugs for anyone who wants one 🤗 & get well wishes to all our poorlies
