@QueenJess good lord, that's appalling. (Are they actively attempting to manage people out of their organisation as it sure looks like it from here.)

@QueenJess, look at your options closely. It may be that you will be better off becoming a stay-at-home mum when you take all of the costs and stress involved into consideration. With the money-saving hints on here, you might even come out ahead.
Today has not been the best day for me: Took roommate Di to emergency room last night - after 5 hours, there was nothing wrong with her. Home at 1:30 am, got ready for bed and her cat wet on me and my bed. Had to get up and wash bedding and try to dry bed. There is no where else in house to lie down and I don't have any extra bedding. So about 5:00 got to bed. Alarm went off at 7:00 to feed cats and dog. All of them being stubborn. Went back to bed. Went to bank to transfer $300 from one account to the other - took 30 minutes as kept being declined on outside machine and had to go wait in line. Evidently I looked as bad as I felt as two people let me go ahead of them in the line. Best part of day. Then home and computer decided not to work. Took a time out and tried again and finally it started working but when it first came on, it said there had been a system error and it would reset itself. Fed cats and dog again and feel like going back to bed. But I need to get several boxes moved before then. There are days when things just don't go right. And the temperature was 31C today - and we don't have air conditioning in the house or car.
Hoping the rest of you have better days.

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks to include MMiM - do this before I go to bed
2. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ I have an acronym - I.R.I.S. being Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off
3. Implement a new sleep/wake up regime - start going to bed earlier (target before 2:00 a.m.) get up earlier (target by 9:00 a.m.)
4. Deal with ‘Urgent’ daily mail immediately & the rest at the weekend
5. Don’t put it down, put it away
6. If I spot a mini task deal with it immediately e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
7. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
DH had a quick bath before heading off at about 16:15. After sorting out today’s mail, I stripped, aired & remade our bed with warmer bedding. Clothing & bedding items are sorted into loads for tomorrow. Forecast is for a dry day 🤞DSis & I had conchiglie with bolognaise sauce from freezer + I used half a baguette from the freezer & grilled it with garlic butter spread over it 😋
DH got home 22:45, very drunk as he had missed out on the food - a buffet arrangement - as he preferred to catch up with his old schoolmates rather than eat 😉 - there were 13 of them & DH was the 7th to leave 😉 I will talk to him tomorrow as he tends to witter when he has had too much to drink - bless his cotton socks 😊 I made DH a sandwich & a coffee. Wudupa.

Siebrie, what a lucky break 🙂 Fingers crossed that there is enough space in the shipping container for everything you wish to send 🤞 Good news about your vacation days - lovely boss 😊 Hopefully you will be able to use at least part of your Friday afternoons for some TLC 🤞Your weekend sounds very interesting especially the spaghetti event 😊 Good luck with the fundraising 🍀 I hope your DDs enjoy the birthday party 😊
flamingo747, what a peculiar way for the bank to conduct business? My thought is that if “Return to Sender, not known at this address” isn’t working, then perhaps contact the bank’s complaint department 🤔 What a lovely compliment 😊 Sorry to hear that junior flamingo is having nightmares - hopefully it is a one off 🤞 “Declutter guilt is a real challenge.Must remind myself that it is still unwanted junk in my house or in landfill, just the former costs me in space and peace” - I think most of us suffer ‘declutter guilt’ at one time or another & do need to remember/remind ourselves that we have nothing to feel guilty about. Just a lesson to be learned to be more discerning about what we bring into our homes in the future 🙂
~FlowerPot~ enjoy your time in the TLC Carriage 😊 Hopefully you have taken enough chocolate with you 🤞😉
Brie, hope you found your key ring with all its charms & doodads 🤞🤞
Excellent decluttering Happy_Kitties 👏
Off to bed now, so will continue cheerleading tomorrow 😉

Oh dearie me. Some struggling going on today. I hope some time can be taken in a few households to catch breath and maybe see a new path to a new future. Its very hard when in the middle of the storm I know, so I'm dispensing hugs and cwtchs (?) and gentle back pats plus sending calming vibes through the ether to everyone reading along

Hugs @QueenJess; I’m with @short_bird, it sounds like they are trying to get people out without having to pay redundancy. Lots of good advice already given and as already said, could you walk and then wait for the right job to arrive? It might just be the universe giving you the push you need.
@weenancyinAmerica that’s an awful night, I hope you can at least nap somewhere along the line. My DS2 and DiL are on Oxnard and saying it’s hot despite the breeze they get there. Take care and thank you for the Anaheim library link; my library card came through yesterday. I think I have distant relatives who moved to that area so might be able to find out something about them or the area when they were there. I have a house to renovate first so I’m now not sure when I’ll get back to genealogy – it’s usually over the winter but I doubt I’ll have time this year.
Hugs to all those who want one and I hope everyone has a better day.

Morning. Sorry for not keeping up with the thread.
Sorry to hear about peoples struggles and thing's being tough.
I really hope that thing's improve and pick up soon.
I've completely lost track of what I have or haven't been decluttering.
I've been struggling to be motivated to, not helped by intensive studying for a resit of an exam.
I managed to finally declutter 4 shorts, 2 pairs of leggings and a sweatshirt.
Most I've slimmed out of and passed to a family member.
I'm hoping to cut the grass in the next week, plus start back on the decluttering and try and stick with it.
Even if it's 1 or 2 items a week.Decluttering campaign 2023

QueenJess they sound like a shower of you-know-whats. See a GP and get signed off with stress, use the time to hit the job hunt hard. I'm guessing you'd get company sick pay? Nothing is worth the damage to your mental health, especially not a job (that like all jobs) would replace you in a heartbeat and within a few months even your colleagues would forget about you.
Much better today here. I went to bed at 830pm because I started to feel really sick. I obviously needed the sleep. Got up, got JF ready for school, spent an hour cleaning, drying, putting away dishes whilst listening to R4. +2 declutter for that as it had become a Big Task. +1 for renewing library books online. Today needs to be more maintenance than declutter: meal plan, shop list, shop. Looking forward to watching the latest Sort Your Life Out, and the new All Creatures which I've been waiting for all yearThis is the last quiet weekend for a bit, next week we stay in Oxford for half marathon and family visit, the following fri-tues is Disneyland. So this coming week needs to be putting things to rights in advance of regular schedule so that it's all organised and clean for our comings and goings!
