1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks to include MMiM - do this before I go to bed
2. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ I have an acronym - I.R.I.S. being Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off
3. Implement a new sleep/wake up regime - start going to bed earlier (target before 2:00 a.m.) get up earlier (target by 9:00 a.m.)
4. Deal with ‘Urgent’ daily mail immediately & the rest at the weekend
5. Don’t put it down, put it away
6. If I spot a mini task deal with it immediately e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
7. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
The sky clouded over & we have had a couple of short sharp showers. I have vacuumed the downstairs & only had to empty the hoover twice 😉 I have also finished knitting the scarf & have just sewn in the loose ends. Also dealt with my mail & some paperwork, generating 0.5” of recycling
2090 Paperwork recycled
Excellent decluttering flamingo747 👏
Siebrie, my understanding of frogs is that they are tasks/events you put off doing for whatever reason 😉 So I would say that a frog can be pleasant 😊 & reading on I can see that it is exactly what happened 😊 I would also like to say that I think it is a wonderful idea to have an “annual company open day” - Belgium & the Netherlands seem to have a marvellous attitude to family 😊 Excellent work by your husband - fingers crossed that he can earn similar amounts repairing & selling the other computer sets 🤞 Hopefully he is adding most of the monies earned to the household kitty 🤞The only trouble with your husband rifling through the freezer is that you will probably have to search for the items on your menu plan 😔 Your husband is definitely a WIP (work in progress) 😉
Florenceem, sounds like a very enjoyable Sunday 😊 Excellent decluttering of items to the cs 👏 I am also very impressed that you have sorted through the yarn & only kept a few balls for yourself 🥳 A medal 🏅worthy act 😊 It also sounds like MrF is going from strength to strength 😊
Belated birthday wishes Foofoopuppy 💐 🎂 Sounds like September was a successful month - dealing with tadpoles, some self care & a lovely trip away even if it was only two days 👏 Good luck running down the freezer & prepping the bathroom for decorating 🍀
Thank you flamingo747 😊
QueenJess, with the amount of decluttering & sorting & baking + a full work day - I can see that you are working through your feeling of demotivation 👏 😊 You are a marvel 🤩 I am keeping everything crossed that your search for a new job will be successful 🤞
TC77, what a great selection of chairs 🙂 I am looking forward to seeing which type you decide will grace your home 😊 Good luck with finding items to go into a CS bag 🍀 Re the new clothes - if you are not going to wear them get shot quickly as you do not need a constant reminder of slightly dodgy couture decisions 😉😉 Sorry to hear that DD2 has shingles 😔 Fingers crossed that it is a mild case & that she recovers quickly 🤞
Another page caught up so off to make dinner 🙂 I may be back later 👋

I am using a small 3" by 5 " card for my to-do-list. Makes me concentrate on what is really important for the day. I will get things done on that list. If time for anything else - good. But the card is a must-list. Right now it is green so I can't miss it.
Today cleaned up so large husky could come in while pool person here. Made a cat angry as she had to go down the hall where brother cat already was. She attacks the husky whenever they meet. Husky can just be sitting there, and hissing starts and she attacks. So have to keep them separated.
Large items have been picked up by trash company already. Whew! Now just have to clean up the mess around where the sofa was.
Sorting out my wardrobe didn't take long this morning: 5 tops as 2 tops as donated by friend, 1 work top for cleaning around the house, 3 tops for sleeping. 1 Cardigan inherited from father, now close to 40 years old. 1 Fleece. 2 skirts - 1 winter, 1 summer. 1 coat. 3 pair winter trousers. 2 pr. summer trousers. 3 camisoles to wear under tops. 3 pr. shorts to wear to bed (donated from Disneyland). 2 jumpers from Scotland. 2 jumpers from Ireland. 3 more jumpers my sister gave me yesterday. All set for winter, except need a jacket and another cardigan. May need a few more pair of socks as mine are wearing out. And a few more sets of underwear as mine are about 12 years old. No place to put anymore clothes. Can't pack any away as you never can tell about the weather here.
Did my work for Excel class. Online class, instructions are a bit complicated. I worry about some of my fellow students as most of them are just learning English. My roommate has trouble with understanding and she shouldn't have any problem with the England as it is her native language - but still gets stymied and asks a lot of questions. She waits until I finish the assignment and work out the bugs before she tries it.
Off to run errands this afternoon - vote on a one-issue ballot, go to bank, pick up prescriptions, do grocery and household shopping - maximum two hours as just travel in circle of about two miles. Then home to pay bills and work on cleaning house. And listen to roommate yell at referees at hockey game she will be watching. She really gets into the game.
Hope every one has a good week. Hugs to those who need them.15 -
Counting petty cash was really quick yesterday afternoon.
I went to lock up after men's fellowship in the evening. Had locked up - set the alarm and started off for home when a delivery of food arrived so it was - unlock and take in + sort the haul.
Today I had a new kitchen tap installed - I went for a good make - it took longer to fit than J thought but we made it to the funeral. Such a sad occasion - N had Leukemia at 3 years old and it came back even after a bone marrow transplant. What do you say to a mother who has lost her only son aged just 14.
We walked into town afterwards - I had made a Birthday card which needed to go in the post.
Got home and soon had a call - could I open up the hall to let in a young girl who was going to use the piano.
Had dinner and will be off out again soon to take in 2 supermarket surplus deliveries.
Oh - yes - the new tap is leaking so J is coming back tomorrow to sort it out.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Mrs SD love the phrase ightly dodgy couture decisions!
2 jumpers in the cs bag. One new but tried on and lovely feel but unflattering to me to extent wouldn't want to open the door to anyone in it. Hopefully someone will love it!
Looked through stash of cards, one for dB and one for friend and some not suitable for my friends so will go to cs. Few frogs done and will add nos soon.
Thanks for advice13 -

flamingo747, lovely post & so supportive of QueenJess (who seems to forget what a stupendous job she has already done this year) 😊 Also very supportive of TC77 - hopefully your rather wonderful observation will make it easier for TC77 to let go of the clothes 🤞 Re what you will declutter in 2024 if you have decluttered everything in 2023 - you would have a new campaign “Maintenance Decluttering” i.e. being on your guard to stop clutter coming back into your home 😊
Floss, congratulations on selling so much so quickly 👏 You might have delayed listing for a while but your success merits a medal 🏅 Fingers crossed that the doctors will sort your medication out quickly & that you will have no further side effects 🤞
DundeeDoll, great use of a 23 minute session 👏
dND, that sounds like a typical estate agent - not phoning when they say they will 😔 A successful Monday - exercise & finding a pressure cooker at what sounds like a reasonable price 😊 I love that you are flexing your decluttering muscles whilst staying with your DS & DDiL 👏 It should make decluttering easier when you move into your new home 😊 Thank you so much for my cheerleading award 👏 🏆
TC77, I would agree that you are starting to get the hang of decluttering 😊 Not only are you making plans to either sell or donate the chairs but you are also filling up a cs bag with clothing 🥳 Such wonderful cheerleading in the 2nd half of your post 😊
weenancy, you had a very busy Monday 👏 Such a shame when family fall out 😔 but well done on finding pictures of your grandnephew 👏 Tiny House Nation sounds interesting but I confess that I do like my space 😉 so probably not an option for me 😉 Very impressed that you cleared the living room enough to get the old sofa out 👏 Great work in also adding more stuff to the pile for city trash collection on Tuesday 🥳 I think that deserves a Gold Star ⭐️ which is on its way 😊 Sorry to hear that roommate Di has not been taking her medication 😔 Hopefully this new bout of Gout will persuade her to be more rigorous in taking her medication in future 🤞 Good luck with the rest of the decluttering in the living room 🍀 Hopefully you will find a few more treasures 🤞 I am hoping for a stash of cash 😉😅 Great news about the car window 🥳 & what a kind neighbour 😇
Great decluttering flamingo747 👏 Fingers crossed that you have no side effects from your Covid jabs 🤞 I was pleased to hear that junior flamingo’s DLA renewal isn’t due until March 2024 😊 Is there any possibility of doing some preparation work to make the renewal less traumatic?
wort, love that you find decluttering addictive 😊 & even now are still looking for items to declutter 👏Perhaps when you finish decluttering your DD’s house you can set up a schedule to help some of your fellow declutterati 😂
Lovely post TC77 😊 Please do try to reduce your work hours 🙏 11 hours is way too long in the office 😥 I thought that your Company was supposed to be taking on more staff 🤨 Congratulations to your friend on their retirement 🥳
GrannyKate, sorry to hear that your arm is aching 😔 I hope that you did go out to lunch on Tuesday 🤞Excellent decluttering 👏
I have caught up a bit more, so will post this & head off to bed 💤

Hi all, I last posted on Sunday and I don't know where the time has gone
. Sunday evening I went out for the last of my birthday meals which was lovely
. Since them 2 car mats have been binned, these belong to OH and have been lurking in the hall for months. I kept asking about them and eventually was given permission to bin them
. I completed the disclaimer forms for my abseil and sent them back and dealt with the post, mostly straight into the recycling. 2 items that arrived puzzled me. 1 from a tree planting charity that doesn't appear to be on recycled paper and a renewal notice for my ex's driving licence as he will be 70 in December. He hasn't lived here for over 35 years and I have no idea where he is so I have no idea what to do with it. The kitchen recycling, bathroom recycling, bedroom recycling and bedroom bin and lr bin have been emptied. 100 emails have been deleted, covid booster appointment has been moved as I realised I had booked it for when I will be in Dorset dog sitting
. I have had a long phone call with a friend to arrange to hopefully meet up when I am in Dorset
and a long conversation with dsis who has had all her results back. There is definitely a problem with her thyroid and she has high cholesterol, all of which are manageable. . We talked about why she always goes down the road of dread and she admitted that she does and now feels much better knowing she's not at death's door
. I also think some of her problems are that she lives in a tiny village and is very isolated. She used to attend a craft group but for various reasons it no longer happens and her friends from that group live over 30 miles away. I have suggested she look for something she can join in with locally that she will enjoy and where she will meet people. If I was stuck at home all day with her DH I would probably be down as well
.
I have 2 loads of washing on the line as there is no rain forecast for today after the last 2 very changeable days so fingers crossed they will dry. I have a union meeting this afternoon and will call in at OH's house to collect the mail etc.
Off to get another cup of tea and plan to do something. Hugs to everyone who would like one

Morning all. Arm is much better and I got a good nights sleep but I didn't go out yesterday. I have meetings today and tomorrow so perhaps I will go out Friday. Children here Thursday pm until Monday am.
1342 School shirt ironing done again!!
1343-44 Two x 10 things rounded up and put away or binned from just 2 bedrooms
1345 Virtually unworn trainers to charity shop bag - I just don't find them comfortable
1346-47 Two summer tops in CS bag
1348 Outdoor cushions packed in bags to go in loft
1349 Some surveys done which pay cash - not keeping up with these or competitions lately.
Right some vacuuming of the two bedrooms I tidied and the lounge is next. I am going to write a new to do list. One of the remaining items really needs dividing up into manageable pieces.
I meant to say @Liverpool_Anne that I think the DVLA are having a senior moment just lately. I was one of quite a few people who got 2 car tax reminders in the same week.2025 Decluttering Campaign 835/2025 🏅🏅🏅🏅(🏅🏅) 🌟🌟
