QueenJess you have done such an incredible job with your 33k declutter! I even told Mr Flamingo about there being someone with such a big number. He was very impressed, if not a little confused as to what OS MSE was! Don't be disheartened xx
TC77 I love that sideboard! That is a lot of heavy chairs, I bet they'd sell well and you could buy something you loved to use instead. As for the new clothing, imagine the excitement of the person who finds it brand new and falls in love. They've served their purpose with you, in helping you think more carefully about what to buy, and are ready to serve their purpose with a new person
+1 rusty hair grip, +1 small surplus powerbank, and +1 small wicker bowl thing that has been cluttering up my coffee table drawer all disposed of appropriately.
Having completed Sort Your Life Out, I am now onto the Nick Knowles one on c5. I definitely have a decluttering hyperfixation at the moment (suspected ADHD).
But I am wondering what you declutter once you've gone through most of it once over? My two worst areas haven't been touched yet (the loft, containing old costumes from live action role-playing games, and the big wardrobe containing Mr Flamingos guitars, sentimental stuffed toys that were my grans, , a bix if sentimental papers/baby stuff, and lots of very niche books of tabletop role-playing games), but the primary areas of my house have had a work through already in the last 2 months. I'm wondering what I will declutter in 2024 if I keep this pace until thenMarried 40y.o. mum of an autistic 11y.o. Carer/SAHM.

TC77, personally I'd go with the Ercol purely on design aesthetic, but if you decide not to, they would sell well 😉2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

I finally got round to listing stuff on Vinted today, and have sold 6 things already with £50+ pending. I now have to list the things from DS2 including his first electric guitar, bought back in the late 90s for his lessons.
I'm still struggling with the medication side effects but after a consultant call on Friday, there is a plan in place which will be supported by a GP appointment on Wednesday 🤞2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

Good evening all.
The estate agent said that they’d get back to me today to update me about the solicitor. But of course, they haven’t!! Hey ho!
So today has been a pretty normal day; I’ve done my lane-swimming and have one item to report coming in. I managed to get my pressure cooker.
I went to L£dl yesterday but they didn’t have any. I decided to go back today and lo and behold, 4 had appeared on the shelves. I think that the Sunday staff only put out the main pallet load of small slow cookers and left it to the Monday staff to re-arrange the shelves to take the boxes – I’d been up and down the aisles a few times on Sunday looking so I know that they weren't there then.
I’m really pleased as Arg0s are selling it for £49 and I paid £35. 😁😁
Nothing of mine, other than money, going out but I’m helping my Ddil declutter some of her kitchen cupboards. As I’ve said before, my Ds and Ddil have very long working days and very rarely have 2 consecutive days off. So I’m tidying and putting things out to be looked at and then taking the bags to the cs. Cupboards are then cleaned, as is everything that was in them, and hopefully will function better for them.
Thankyou for all the cheerleading @Mrs_Salad_Dodger, it’s very much appreciated. 🏆
@TC77 I love the sideboard. If you’re not already on any, I can recommend 2 good Fb groups that discuss Ercol and Mid Century furniture renovation.

Just lost my message as I went back to see who is poorly or having a difficult time ad came back to find it gone... must remember to save a draft.
Thank you for all the lovely and helpful comments about chairs/sideboards and passing on new clothes.
I think I'm keeping dining room chairs to go with sideboard etc and ercol chairs and heavy big ones will definitely go. The ercol ones need sanding and revarnishing but going to start with warm soapy water. I have wrist problems so know I wouldn't manage all the hand sanding so will give thought.
Trousers are in the CS bag but shoes/boots are buried under other things but will be put in the CS bag.
Such a lovely inspiring group here so thank you fellow travellers. I'm in awe of people moving, and changing their lives, and always remember Floss saying about putting almost everything in storage temporarily and now has made her place so joyous with wonderful colours and cherished items on display.
@flamingo747 you sound like you're on a real roll, I think you will be on to more time for living and doing things you love in 2024. I have been decluttering for so long but ever the optimist think I am getting the hang of letting go!18 -
1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks to include MMiM - do this before I go to bed
2. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ I have an acronym - I.R.I.S. being Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off
3. Implement a new sleep/wake up regime - start going to bed earlier (target before 2:00 a.m.) get up earlier (target by 9:00 a.m.)
4. Deal with ‘Urgent’ daily mail immediately & the rest at the weekend
5. Don’t put it down, put it away
6. If I spot a mini task deal with it immediately e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
7. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Monday stayed dark all day with a few short showers late evening. I started knitting a scarf which is almost finished. Dinner was the remainder of the sausage & spinach linguine for DSis & me. DH had a portion of cottage pie from the freezer. Wudupa. Ernie was kinder to DH this month £200 with £100 for me 🥳

Well done on tackling Flylady tasks, flamingo747 👏 Excellent decluttering - 35 in one day 👏🤩
QueenJess, yippee to your parents being unable to get into their loft 🥳 Hopefully it won’t take long to sort through the clothing 🤞 Excellent decluttering 👏

Started out the day with paying bills and feeding animals. Limiting unread emails to 10. Checked for pictures on FaceBook and found pictures of my grandnephew's second birthday. Because his mother isn't speaking to my sister (her MIL), we haven't been allowed to meet him yet. But I have been saving pictures. And did wish him a happy birthday. Worked on cleaning up living room so could move broken sofa out. Then went to sister's to dog sit nephew pup. Was there long enough to watch three episodes of Tiny House Nation including the one where they talk about dealing with hoarding - need my roommates to see that one. Went home and continued cleaning in living room - managed enough to get sofa out with help of roommate J. It is out for pickup tomorrow along with a bed frame, mattress, broken keyboard and stand, and a couple of other things. Also got the regular trash out. Roommate Di is having trouble with Gout again - she hasn't been taking her medicine. Living room actually looks worse than ever as a lot of stuff needs to be cleaned up. Found several important things under the sofa, including Roommate J's award certificate from work that has been missing almost two years. Swept and cleaned up now, but a lot needs to be moved. However, since we have cleared our calendar for the week except for dog sitting Wednesday and Friday, should be able to get a lot done. Won't be going to the library to work on books until Sunday afternoon. Best news is a neighbor got the window on our car to close and says it isn't the expensive part that we need. He will work on it later and didn't charge anything for the work today.15

Weenancy that's great about the car window, bloody cars always cost so much money!
Todays decluttering will be covid jabs. I also tackled the frog of checking when junior flamingos DLA renewal is due (huge amount of dread and anxiety) +2 for additional emotional effort lol. I thought it was this month, turns out it is March '24, so that's a relief. Oh, I did the this morning, so will count +5, one for each recycling typetyping this reminded me that I needed to order a new cardboard recycling bag, done, so +1

@flamingo747 I decluttered long ago , it is rather addictive 🤭 I still find myself looking for things to go and rearranging, if I say I have a bag for charity shop my dsis says there’s going to be nothing left in your house!I love the ease of being able to clean and keep on top of everything ,much more time for me to do things I enjoy. Although that now includes decluttering, I’ve been known to go to my dd s house and declutter for her. XFocus on contribution instead of the impressiveness of consumption to see the true beauty in people.13
