I threw out the bread I baked, and the flour, because it wasn't nice at all! It was a 5kg bag of Waldkorn flour I inherited from my father, but I'm rather particular with which bread flour I like, and this was not the correct brand, but I'd thought I'd give it a try.Out: 1 sock.I'm no longer folding all laundry. I sort and then dump dds' laundry at dds' beds. DD1 is good at putting it away at once, dd2 needs reminders.Husband is working from home today and eating the fakoye (https://tunukamedia.wordpress.com/2021/09/29/fakoye-mali/) from the freezer. It's about the only African dish I cannot stomach, and husband eats it in the garden, as its smell is rather robust.Frog: sent off letter to Dutch lottery with 2 tickets my Mum found in Dad's trousers after she washed them. 1 is torn, but apparently, they will still pay out through head office rather than through a local dealer. @QueenJess I would definitely be having "interview" days off, interview preparation days too. What are they going to do with you? Sack you? Employer seems blatant sex discriminatory to me and clearly not family orientated nor a work life balance employer. I'm not sure of what they are saying they are permitted to do.
My declutter this week seems very slow albeit I have used up a couple of pieces of paper with my lists on and all completed and marked off.

@QueenJess
Exactly the same thing happened at my last employer ...I resigned and have never regretted it ! My health improved physically and mentally ..ok from income it had a inpact but I have spent the time getting the house in order and decluttered an enormous amount via Ebay, Gumtree ,Marketplace and more.
I came to the conclusion the house is full with stuff that we had bought as treats or comforts , thinking we needed or deserved it after a hard week at work.
Today I see it now as stuff to declutter / balast dragging us down.
So make the jump ! You will always find something else ....
Success is the sum of small efforts repeated day in and day out.Thats what I keep telling myself :-)15 -
No decluttering but next week we get new car and have one to sell and council collection of old sofa.
My back keeps twinging today 😢
Hope everyone has a good weekend15 -
Took in a food delivery and locked up last night at SA.
Ja came to sort out the leak under the kitchen sink - he fitted a new bend. Now there seems to be a leak from another area!
Popped to SA with some bags for the food bank.
Mr F has been out to get the local paper.
I did some work on a craft - Christmas wreaths.
Off out soon - I have volunteered to teach an 11 year old girl how to use her sewing machine. It will take me an hour on the bus and walking to get there and of course the same back. Someone asked on local social media if a sewer could help her daughter.
Got Thai curry & rice out of the freezer for a quick meal when I get home - Mr F brought them home from SA after men's fellowship.
Mr F has had his pre assesment for the colonoscopy - no letter arrived yet - if it hasn't arrived by Monday - he needs to visit the hospital to collect info.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks to include MMiM - do this before I go to bed
2. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ I have an acronym - I.R.I.S. being Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off
3. Implement a new sleep/wake up regime - start going to bed earlier (target before 2:00 a.m.) get up earlier (target by 9:00 a.m.)
4. Deal with ‘Urgent’ daily mail immediately & the rest at the weekend
5. Don’t put it down, put it away
6. If I spot a mini task deal with it immediately e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
7. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Friday is a bright dry day with a nice breeze …… at least since noon when I got up 😔 First load of washing done & on whirligig. Discovered from DH that I got the wrong end of the stick as regards food provision 😔 The reunion was in a pub with a restaurant attached, hence DH’s reluctance to go & eat 😉 He had a good time & enjoyed catching up with several classmates whom he hadn’t seen for 45 years 😥 I see I am falling further behind so I will have a short session of cheerleading 🤞
flamingo747, great ideas for the location of Brie’s keys 🙂
weenancy, what a nice idea for flamingo747’s Christmas tree 👏
Liverpool_Anne, what a busy Wednesday 👏 Sorry to hear about the funeral 😔
vulpix, sadly “Hinch to Hovel” is remarkably easy to achieve 😔 shame the same thing cannot be said about ‘Hovel to Hinch’ 😔 I hope you enjoy your ‘me time’ 🤞although I foresee lots of cuddles when MrV returns 🥰 I was so pleased to hear that you & bit_by_bit are still keeping in touch even though RL has meant you haven’t seen each other for a while 😊 I think your planned tea party sounds lovely ☺️ I think the description is ‘in an intimate setting’ 😉
Brie, yippee to finding your keys 🥳 Lucky that the ‘unnamed person’ didn’t scoop them up when putting away his laundry 😮💨 100th anniversary 🤩 That particular reunion definitely sounds like one of Dante’s Circles of Hell - number 10 possibly 😉 With your description of your brother, I am now imagining you as a quiet, studious type with a select circle of friends 🤔 If I ever did attend a school reunion I would be happy if no one recognised/remembered me as I would be able to stand around with a drink in hand & watch proceedings 🤣
Florenceem, I was very relieved to hear that MrF is always with you when you are taking in & sorting deliveries at SA 😮💨 Hopefully after Ja’s visit all water leaks are now dealt with & no damage has been done 🤞 Excellent decluttering 👏 Ooh, that is the sort of re-cluttering I love - free range eggs, vegetable & fruit 🥳
flamingo747, nothing to be ashamed about ‘wagging finger emoji’. Remember Scarlett “Tomorrow is another day” (Gone With The Wind quote 😉)
QueenJess, hugs galore coming your way 🤗 I am lost for words so I will quote short_bird “good lord, that’s appalling” 😡
Well said Floss & short_bird 👏
I took a short break to hang out the 2nd load of washing & put the 3rd load in. Now back to cheerleading
QueenJess “power crazy control freaks” sounds about right 😖
Excellent decluttering of food DundeeDoll 👏 Come to think of it, my bedside table is also a mini chest of drawers - I keep my underwear & socks etc in 2 of the drawers 😉 I think that qualifies both of us as MSE 😊
weenancy, that is great advice for QueenJess 👏 An horrendous 2 days weenancy 😢 No wonder you felt like just going back to bed 😔 Although I see that as usual you found a bright spot in your day - the 2 lovely people who let you go ahead of them in the bank queue 😊 Sending lots of hugs 🤗 & a fervent request to the cosmos that better days come your way from now on 🙏
Timer has just gone off so I will post this & be back later 🙂

Thanks everyone for your lovely supportive replies. I talked to my boss again today (I feel like I'm not getting any work done dealing with all this stuff) and even he doesn't know how to deal with it as he's perfectly happy for people to leave early to pick up kids etc (and he was the one who originally told me never to bother coming in because it wasn't worthwhile). The traffic is so awful around the office, that even he has to leave early to do pick ups as he can't do his 15 min journey in less than an hour at rush hour. Feel a bit sorry for him as he doesn't really know how to deal with all this stuff and the lack of further communication is I suspect purposely making it difficult for people. So I am trying to take the approach of ignoring it and not caring (still working on the latter as I am still very p*ssed off). I will be in the office on the stipulated days, but around when I have to pick up kids and if I need to be out for kids plays, parents evening etc then I will be. Would take them ages to get around to getting rid of me and it is borderline illegal due to discrimination anyway. In the meantime I will be job hunting. However, my resignation is written ready and if it all gets too hard, then I will just hand in my resignation and live off some savings I have in the meantime.@Gers interesting article. I think I've read a shorter version elsewhere recently. I suspect the 5 year legal slog to get compensation is exactly the reason employers get away with this stuff.@fritzie-65 I'm sorry this happened to you as well, but glad you made the right choice.Edit: Almost forgot to declare a bit of natural decluttering over this week:Digital:
