Phone call for legsl advice and reminded I can make some charge of my time ad a litigant in person but been ploughing through work and some other frogs. Dd2's burst of activity came to an abrupt stop, but very anxious for next week,'s results so biting my tongue
In the office next 2 days but leaving early tomorrow to see the summer exhibition at the roayl academy with friends, and help dd1 who is stretched with assignment and placement.
Take care all x18 -
1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks to include MMiM - do this before I go to bed
2. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ I have an acronym - I.R.I.S. being Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off
3. Implement a new sleep/wake up regime - start going to bed earlier (target before 2:00 a.m.) get up earlier (target by 9:00 a.m.)
4. Deal with ‘Urgent’ daily mail immediately & the rest at the weekend
5. Don’t put it down, put it away
6. If I spot a mini task deal with it immediately e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
7. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
So I walked to the local pharmacy to hand in 3 lo unopened boxes of blood thinning injections & 2 unopened boxes of DSis’s no longer required medication - both of which still had a long shelf life - only to be advised that everything was going to be binned 🤨 - government policy in England 😖 What a waste - so depressing & also makes me very angry 😡 The pharmacy also wouldn’t accept the sharps box - either need to call the council & get it collected but only if referred by a doctor or possibly drop it off at the hospital 😔 I have spent 10 minutes investigating & am at a loss to understand why it has been made so difficult to get rid of sharps boxes 🤨 Also checking the NHS website it is the patients responsibility so you would think it would be made as easy as possible 🤷♀️ DH has emailed the surgery & asked for advice/referral. Frog 1 only partially completed 😔 The only bonus is that I got some exercise 😊 As it has been a lovely sunny day, DH & I spent an hour & a half in the front garden. DH trimmed both our hedge & next doors + chopped down a small section of our hedge to give our cherry blossom tree a bit more access to light. I followed round, raking up the clippings. DH then shredded everything + also shredded other ndn’s clippings. Whilst he was doing the shredding I used my garden tool to weed the front path ……..yet again 😉 It looks a lot tidier now but DH needs to rest his leg, so mowing the front lawn (using the term loosely) will wait until tomorrow.
15:49 (16:49 in France) DSis & son have found each other so are now picking up the car 🤞DH has his leg up & I have just vacuumed downstairs around the furniture. DSis & son finally got to his place 18:20 (19:20) Unfortunately DSis was “upgraded” to a bigger car which she is not enjoying driving 😔
I decided to tackle a corner of my living room. Hard plastic document case with suspension files & a clear plastic really useful storage box have been emptied & contents condensed into one sturdy box full of personal documents, tickets, handmade cards, birthday cards, photographs & 2 x Fully completed 5 Year Diaries etc to be gone through at a later date. Binned a bag of detritus, various sized cardboard boxes (5) recycled, a Bible & a prayer book relocated, dismantled an old part used address book & now have a 2” pile of A6 sized scrap paper + half an hardback A5 Notebook + I found 58 unwritten postcards depicting places in the U.K., Iceland, France, Canada, U.S.A. & New Zealand. Brought back many happy memories 😊 Now of course I have to decide what to do with them 🧐 My head says to donate to CS but now that they have been found I am not yet ready to let them go 😔 They are now with my boxes of photos - another frog that needs tackling 😉 The corner is a lot tidier & I will clean the document case & donate to CS + clean the storage box & decide whether to donate or keep but only if I have a use for it. For dinner I sliced up the remaining pork, warmed it through with the lo gravy and adding the baby spinach to wilt down, accompanied by mash & half a bag of kale. Very yummy it was too 😋 A couple of hours later we had apple & rhubarb crumble with Birds custard 🤤 Wudupa
1769 - 1775 Kitchen recycling, drinks cans, 5 cardboard boxes - recycled
1776 - 1778 Kitchen & lr detritus, polystyrene packaging - binned
Floss, shame about the reason for having a lazy weekend 😉 I rather like that you have a Harry Potter store rather than an under-stairs cupboard 😊 Great decluttering 👏 & good luck with the tadpoles 🍀
Excellent decluttering GrannyKate 👏 Good luck with the competition entries 🍀 Hope the day stayed dry enough to do the mowing 🤞
Lovely story about the zippo vulpix 😊 & very fortunate that you had neighbours who could retrieve it for you 👏 Fomo is gorgeous & I love the poking tongue 😊 Looked up ‘blep’ - what a lovely word & so cute ☺️
Brie, yippee to the last of the furniture being bought, paid for & off to its new home 🥳 Hopefully when the gardeners have finished, OH will be able to take everything else to the Tip 🤞Don’t forget to take a pic of the empty carport 😊
Yippee to finishing the kitchen oceanspirit 🥳 & great news that “the boiler passed with flying colours” Hopefully you will get a good quote for the electrical jobs & a swift resolution 🤞Well done on completing your first frog of the week 👏 You obviously make better choices than I do 🤣
Crazycatlady2, fingers crossed that the buyer for the hutch & run turns up on time 🤞 Everything crossed that your carrots have survived & that you will get a good crop 🤞I have tried several times to grow carrots but with no success even though they are supposed to be one of the easier vegetables to grow 😔 Good luck with disposing of excess bedroom furniture so that you can get a bigger bed 🍀
Florenceem, those beaded pens are beautiful 🤩 I checked out the rest on the crafting thread 😊 Is there no end to your talent 🥹
Crazycatlady2, fingers crossed for you 🤞
weenancy a very busy Monday 👏 Hope both the visit to Social Security & the dog sitting went well 🤞Everything crossed that roommate gets the Halloween job 🤞
Excellent decluttering Deni_debt-free_dreamer 👏 & very generous 😇
Fingers crossed that your laptop can be rebuilt QueenJess 🤞 I love that your tidying still means you manage to declutter loads 👏
Muddy_Walker, love the description of your dog when sleeping 😊 sounds so cute ☺️
EnergyShifter sorry to hear that the last day of your break wasn’t restful 😔 But what great news about DS 🥹👏
Excellent work GrannyKate 👏 Sounds like your plumber needs some accounting lessons 😉😉
TC77, great work munching on frogs 👏 Keeping everything crossed that DD2 gets the results she needs for the next stage of her education 🤞Hope you enjoy the summer exhibition tomorrow 😊
Night, night everyone - sleep well 😴

@Mrs_Salad_Dodger I’m with you with the ridiculousness of how difficult it is to get rid of sharps. I couldn’t understand why chemists can’t accept them either when they are in a self contained sharps box which was given out by the chemist in the first place!I got DH to deal with it, but can’t remember what he did with it as I needed the same thing past C-section and frankly can’t remember much with so little sleep back then.2025 decluttering: 1,260🌟🥉🌟💐🏅🏅🌟🏅🌟🏅

she’s trying to hire a bigger van but I’ve also had 2 more people interested since and warned of how big it is 🤷♀️ hopefully gone soon
think this is year 3/4 if carrots and usually the dog and rabbits eat them but no more rabbits so prob won’t bother again and the raised bed will be used for something else16 -
Well I don’t know what’s occurring but it’s nice weather here! I looked at one of the places we are going on our holidays ,35 today. Crumbs. It’s hot for me at 25. There is time for it to cool down before we go.We are tied to the house today, waiting for the kitchen delivery. Joiner is here putting door frames in. Builder coming this afternoon to start putting the insulated plaster board up. Electrician rescheduled. I understand it will be 2 weeks before the kitchen fitter can start. The novelty of washing dishes in the bath has already worn off.The quandary of sharps boxes. We managed to get the district nurse to take MiL’s. My step son who is a paramedic tells me that addicts fill them with water for 24hrs then drink the water. Not their own sharps boxes either. 😢
I have eaten a frog. Pulled up the Himalayan Balsam on the euphemistically called top garden before it sets seed. The stream is a massive frog. It needs digging out before winter to avoid flooding. It rapidly fills with silt from the woods. We have managed to give away the remaining 4 giant paving slabs to thrifters. When I have head space I need to sell the stable blocks and rope top edging that is up there. Someone has asked about a pile of pallets but they are on holiday atm. I think taming up there will have to be next year’s job.My new number is 850. Including a bike, 2 sofas, garden furniture etc. big stuff that makes a difference.Vx:17 -

Sat in the car as the sitting room is full of boxes of kitchen.Wishing you a very happy birthday wee Nancy. Xx
Energy shifter, what a long way your son has come. you have had a rollercoaster ride for the last couple of years. Great news. Xx
I have been to see my Mum. She has sorted the boxes of stuff I took her weeks ago. I will now sort it and take suitable stuff to the chazzer. She will never know what goes in the bin. She is a war child and has kept absolutely everything for Justin. Actually I am going to claim some wool blankets and some coaster things that you put under sofa legs. No idea what they are called. There is a lovely glass dish I might keep, we shall see.Vx:20 -

Up late today 12:30 😔 No chance of mowing the front lawn as it has rained & more rain is forecast 😔 So I will find tasks to do indoors & amend my frog list. First new frog - washing the sofa cover & cushion cover from the sofa that DSis uses 🙂 I have even used some of her washing liquid 😉 14:18 DH is just returning the garden shredder to the shed & as the washing has finished & it is raining I will td the sofa & cushion covers. Td now on. DH is now in the garage zizzing food for the worms & I am warming through lo sausage linguine for lunch. As the weather is so dire I have decided to start knitting scarves etc. I have 2 scarves on the go & they will either be donated to CS or a shelter. If I am knitting I won’t feel so guilty watching TV 😂
QueenJess, hopefully we will find out on Wednesday 🤞 I am hoping there is an option to drop off the sharps box at the hospital as then I could complete another frog at the same time 😉
Crazycatlady2, everything crossed that the rabbit hutch & run will soon be sold & collected 🤞 Sounds like you will have oodles of space 😊 Exciting, rotating crops 😉 I think the one year we got 3 carrots, added together the amount was the size of half my little finger 🤣 but they were really tasty 😉
vulpix, nice to know someone is getting some good weather 😊 I will keep my fingers crossed that it cools down at your holiday destination 🤞Up to 30C is manageable but anything over is too hot even for a sun lover like me 😉 The kitchen renovation seems to be progressing well 😊 Hopefully all the building work will be completed by the time the kitchen fitter turns up 🤞 If you get some rain perhaps you can change it up & leave the dishes out in the rain 🙃 I really am joking 🙂 The story about sharps boxes is really quite frightening 😳 Excellent work dealing with a frog 👏 I definitely have my silly head on 😉 because I think it is very kind of you to let your “pile of pallets” go on holiday 🤣 Sorry to hear that you have to sit in the car to get any respite from the building work 😔 Well done to your Mum 👏 I am awarding her a medal 🏅 What a thoughtful idea to not let your mum see what is being binned 👏Definitely a great idea to keep the wool blankets especially if we have a hard winter 👏
I have dealt with today’s mail as per mantra 4 😊 Hope everyone is having as good a day as possible 🤞

Dilemma. Gardeners have come and gone and done their usual magic. Lovely lads too so it makes it very pleasant.
But.
They did a lot of weeding around the drive and into the carport and then used the blower to shift all the accumulated dead foliage. And knocked over the large (A1 size? anyways huge) photo montage of FiL that the OH had put together for his dad's memorial. We have one for his mom too and that's safely upstairs in the loft. But FiL's for whatever reason ended up being left in the carport when we moved in 5+ years back. So the back is a bit manky to say nothing of the overall grime/dirt on it all.
Opinions please....do I try to tidy it up to go upstairs as well or secretly dismantle it and bin it? No point in saving it at all given that it'll be binned at some point anyways as no other direct relations but it does seem a bit something. Nasty?
