Hello. We are back home after what now seems like a stay in a very luxurious air b n b. In reality it was very modest but had a lovely view and was cheap. Sadly it’s booked up now. Our house is at the point of building it back up again. Electrician tomorrow, first fix then plaster board, etc, etc. I have had the sitting room door moved to give more wall space for a kitchen. The pantry is partially removed, leaving somewhere for Christmas decorations and craft stuff boxes and hoover.Mr V is working a lot, covering for someone on a 6 week holiday. He can’t help himself. We supposedly retired years ago, before we ended up working in a cave for 3 years.
We did a quiz night a few weeks ago for a fundraiser for our new community centre. With other stuff we have done we have raised about 1K £ towards the cause. The charity shop we donated mil’s collectibles to have donated £500 to the Mariposa trust on our behalf. They have been a huge support for DS and DIL. They also donated the same amount to the Alzheimer’s research on our behalf.
I have been reading along. My sentimental stuff I have asked the kids if they want it. If no I have sent it to the chazzer whilst it was still in good enough condition for someone to want and love it. Eg a tiny Victorian doll of my Grandmother’s. I believe the chazzer sold it on their eBay shop. I don’t ask my son if he wants many things because he would say yes to it all! I have given him the Sunday school prize book that I had restored. The girls are much more practical and refuse most of what I offer. I just see it as the more I donate to the chazzer the more a charity benefits.Whilst away I have been thinking about the spare room. Every time more than one person stays and the trundle bed has to come out the massive ,heavy oak bookcase has to be moved. It only has ornaments on it. I will sell the bookcase and give the ornaments a review. This is where all the gifts given with love but I don’t like live. I have procured a lovely free mid century chest of drawers, on wheels! I will renovate it and it will look a treat in there. I am not going to unpack all the boxes stored in the shed until we come back from holiday in September. I will be ruthless. Already a lot has left, never to return. I don’t have my notebook with me atm. Some stuff has come in but all needs not wants.I hope you are all doing good. Love to all. Vx:17 -

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks to include MMiM - do this before I go to bed
2. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ I have an acronym - I.R.I.S. being Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off
3. Implement a new sleep/wake up regime - start going to bed earlier (target before 2:00 a.m.) get up earlier (target by 9:00 a.m.)
4. Deal with ‘Urgent’ daily mail immediately & the rest at the weekend
5. Don’t put it down, put it away
6. If I spot a mini task deal with it immediately e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
7. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Saturday was a dark, dreary day & very chilly 😔 I resorted to wearing a fleece as it was so cold. I wrote a shopping list for DH & then the moment of truth as he set off on his motorbike 🤞First time riding the bike since 17th July - no difficulties with his leg at all 😮💨 When he got back - safe & sound 😊 - we packed everything away & he filled the bird feeders & fed the worms whilst I made him a coffee. I cooked some apples, mixed them with the cooked rhubarb & added pre-made crumble mix (from the freezer) I now have a crumble which I will cook when making Sunday’s roast dinner. Spent the rest of Saturday watching mindless TV & debating whether or not to turn on the heating 😂
DH & I made sausage linguine with spinach for dinner 😊. Wudupa. Noticed that our neighbours had arrived back from Scotland, so will return their keys on Sunday.
1754 - 1758 Kitchen recycling, 2 plastic bottles, cardboard packaging, drinks cans - recycled
1759 Kitchen detritus binned
Sunday was a much brighter day when I got up at 11:00 - blue skies & even some sunshine 🙂 Although an hour later it has become more overcast 😔 DH is up & watching the MotoGP races - the first weekend after the summer break. I will go straight into cheerleading so timer is on & away I go 😉
Good luck with the kitchen sort out oceanspirit 🍀 Hopefully the boiler service will go off without a hitch & you can declutter whilst restocking the kitchen 🤞
QueenJess, nice to see you 👋 & well done on using your holiday to rest & relax rather than declutter 👏 Sounds like your holiday has been an inspiration and a revelation 😊 You are on the last leg of your Decluttering Journey & will soon be in Maintenance Decluttering territory 🥳 I love your new question which I think will work for me when I get back to ‘proper’ decluttering 👏 “Do I use it now?”. If not, why not and can I start using it? If not then it should go” Excellent decluttering since you have been back 👏 As you say, now that you are are almost at the Maintenance Decluttering stage, I agree that you should put a time limit on each day’s decluttering 😊 Your positivity is an inspiration to us all 🥹
Florenceem, hope the thunderstorm stayed away yesterday 🤞 Good luck finishing your latest craft project 🍀
Wednesday2000, sorry to hear about your diagnosis of osteoarthritis 😔 Fingers crossed that the weather perks up enough that you can put the washing outside for a quick airing before putting it away 🤞
Brie, at least the carport is almost empty now 😊 & you have a little bit of money in your kitty 👏Fingers crossed that the table sells 🤞
Good luck with your Freegling, Florenceem 🍀
Muddy_Walker, your dog is being very helpful & such an eclectic mix of decluttering 😉
Excellent decluttering TC77 👏 You definitely have your ‘Mojo’ back 🥳 Everything crossed that the admin frog can be put completely to rest in the next couple of months 🤞I imagine it will be a great relief to have it all finally done & dusted 😮💨 It sounds like DD2 is finally on board with the decluttering & tidying 🥳 & is taking it very seriously 👏 Hopefully another one or two sessions & she will have completed her room & will be ready to help you with the next room or area 🤞Rant away about PIP Assessments - definitely no need to apologise 🙂 The whole system seems designed to cause as much worry & stress as possible & make applicants give up 😡 Good job DD1 has you fighting her corner 😊 Hope you have more success with your frogs 😉 Of my 4 for the week - I have sorted two, one has been started but still awaiting a response from DB & the 4th has fallen by the wayside 😔 That should mean I have 6 frogs for next week but I will stick to 4 & see if I can improve my success rate 😊More great decluttering TC77 & well done on using up food 👏 Nothing wrong with meeting up with people to enable you to declutter 😉 It will keep your ‘Mojo’ going seeing happy faces & reminiscing with potentially new friends 😊
Excellent decluttering QueenJess 👏 Perhaps once the sunglasses have a new home you could leave the drawer empty 😉 or maybe use it as a staging area if you run out of time or get called away from a decluttering task 🤔 What a lovely little treasure to find & well done on finding a more useful home for the little mirror 😊
oceanspirit, great work in the kitchen 👏 Hopefully with OH’s help you can get the saucepan cupboard sorted which will let you appreciate how much work you have already done 😊
GrannyKate, sounds like you had a lovely time at DDs 😊 Well done on getting all your washing done already 👏 & dealing with a frog before breakfast 🤩
So lovely to see you vulpix ☺️ Sounds like you had a lovely holiday & what a great view 👏 Did you get to see any cricket played? or was it too wet (as I did notice the puddles on the balcony 😔 Wishing you not only good luck with the renovations but also excellent & efficient tradespeople 🍀😊 So impressed with all your charity work so am awarding you & MrV a Gold Star ⭐️ ⭐️ each 🙂 Sounds like an excellent plan for the spare room 👏 I, for one, am hoping to see before & after pics of your new renovation project 🙏 Good luck with sorting out the ornaments 🍀
All caught up, so will post & start the preparations for tonight’s dinner. DH still watching MotoGP & DSis has gone out to pick up a few last minute bits to take to France 🙂

Just keeping decluttering to small bits and pieces at the moment. I am still considering organisation in various places in the house though. I will buy a different container for my bathroom drawer as the current ones mean I can't really see anything in them. I can repurpose these ones to the other bathroom, so it won't be wasted.Just sorted out a few things that were lying around to be got rid of, but as I've already made a batch of flapjacks, two batches of ice cream (one vanilla and one raspberry and white chocolate) and done a big load of washing, I feel like that's enough for one day. I will put a pile of clothes away later.31,683-31,692 - nappies (Buy Nothing)

Having a TLC day today and although I can feel energy levels going up will remain TLC-ing…..
Nice to see the sun through the bedroom window 😊
Dog2 has also decluttered money in the form of his boosters. Hubby said he was a Good Boy at the vets (dog not hubby 🤣) chuntered away at the vet, paws on desk and even scrolled the monitor when his claw caught the down key . Vet very impressed!I will be starting my PIP claim later in the month after a couple of medical appointments…..can’t say I’m looking forward to it……⭐️⭐️⭐️🥇🥇🥇 2024 decluttering

Today I have emptied 2 boxes out of my bedroom. Found the red top I need to wear to the baseball game on Tuesday. And sorted out the tops for mending - most of my t-shirts are getting little holes in them. Only lasted about 30 plus years. Trying to keep them going for a few more. Sometimes I can't tell when a picture was taken because I have been wearing the same clothes for so long. Just getting whiter hair and more wrinkles - so date them that way. Stopped working on the bedroom to come in to the computer and catch up here. Then today church online, library for sorting, and take roommate to grocery shop as his money came in today. Sorting books at the library can be really exciting at times - Friday I found my favorite book in the pile of boxes we sorted out (so only 25 cents and I now have a copy - a mystery by Donna Andrews, very funny). I also found the perfect present for my sister's birthday. At this rate, I may have most of my birthday and holiday shopping done for under $10. My present box is getting full. Not all of it is books as we get puzzles, games, toys, jewelry, all sorts of things donated. Sorted 20 boxes on Friday and have at least that many to do this week. The local hospital has asked for a couple of boxes of books for the patients and visitors as well so will get those ready today.
Glad to hear Mr. S_D had a successful ride today! Thinking about you. Hope everyone has a good week.15 -

Hello everyone, hope you are all moving forward with your decluttering. This weekend I have decluttered 2 lots of hamsters back to the DGC, 2 sweet dwarf ones in one cage and 1 very large black and white bruiser in the other. It's surprising how much room they took up in my dining room. They will all be back in a fortnight though along with the DGC for a few nights while DD and SIL go to Amsterdam to celebrate a birthday. I'd better fill up my cupboards, fridge and freezer cos the DGC will eat me out of house and home !
Today I have recycled 4 cardboard boxes from a delivery , 2 were small usb personal fans for use in our caravan and will save us taking the much bigger cumbersome one on hols ( if we ever get some hot weather that is 🤨) The other 2 parcels contained some thing or other for DH's camera.
My Dad has been here today for lunch and tea so he's now gone home with a carrier bag full of food, including several lunches, gammon and sandwiches, that lot should do him for a week.
Take care all
