Hi everyone
@Dfw38 so sorry about your tiara
@Crazycatlady2 condolences on the loss of your rabbit.
@MrsS_D - the outdoor theatre was brilliant and we were cosy and dry - the cast got a bit wet a couple of times but it was a great evening! Tomorrow I have another trip to a different outdoor theatre but there is no undercover seating so I will see what the weather is doing.
I've not achieved much decluttering this week but have found someone on Fake book that is looking for bingo prizes for their animal rescue charity fundraising so I have contacted them and will gather some stuff to drop off. I've done some shredding which I've put in empty cat food boxes and into the recycling

@Crazycatlady2 - Sorry to hear about your rabbit. We have lost one of our outdoor cats recently also. We are down to one cat outside now, 2 inside cats, and big dog. Our fish tank is on its way to become a home for a lizard instead at my nephew's house. At one point I was the crazy cat lady as neighbor had left us 23 feral cats when she moved to Iowa. Took a long time to get them all fixed, as some managed to have more kittens in the meantime. One of our neighbors was trying to claim our feral cat is the father of some more kittens recently, but he was fixed 8 years ago. He has been hanging around the kittens and the mother cat, but it is probably because he was taking care of his sister cat for the last 8 years and she is the one we have recently lost.
I am down to 6 unread e-mails. I have also read my way through 200 newsletters and deleted them from one of my files. I cleared over half of the items in my download file today. Feels good.
I have started adding the sources to FamilySearch for my relatives' file for the village in Switzerland I have been indexing - have added over 4000 entries so far this year. A lot more to go as there are over 10000 names in the file now (all tied together in one giant family tree). Keeps me out of mischief and keeps me from doing my roommates in.
Maybe the fourth or fifth time sweeping the same rooms will work for roommate Di. Hasn't yet.
Monday I did my two loads of laundry - and then the cat had problems on the bed and had to redo the bedding. But at least the cat is feeling better.
Still working three days a week at the library on getting ready for the book sale and stocking our little book store. But I decided that we would take two weeks vacation from the Family Search Center this month. Our director hasn't been around so I made the decision and printed up the signs and did it. We are half way through it. We usually do each year so it hasn't been too drastic on my part, but lately I have been setting all of the vacation times since she hasn't been around. I think she is in Illinois right now.
Still decluttering the kitchen and living room, but it doesn't look like we have made too much progress. I cleaned the stove top yesterday and scrubbed the burners. It is getting there little by little. Just not yet ready for any visitors (maybe next year?).
Glad to hear JackieO is doing better. Congratulations to @Florenceem on 26 years of marriage! Hope everyone else is doing okay. We are expecting temperatures to be from 30C to 35C this next week. But it isn't that bad in the house, even without air conditioning.

Executed a surprise, ejection of the Ziffit box this morning! Scanned the contents, taped it up and got it in the collection locker before 10am! Also racked up a half mile walk to do that. The InPost lockers are at the far end of my road and my road is surprisingly long!DSis came along too to investigate the locker location and help in case I needed to launch the box into one of the high lockers. Needless to say we ended up on tiptoes to get it in the locker!Had more of a sort out which resulted in more recycling. Fortunately the bin men were running later than usual. We did make the grand total of 40p doing the recycling though! Ocard0 are trialling 20p back on their own label milk bottles if you recycle them. You need to download an app, scan the milk bottle and register your home recycling bin as a recycling location but 20p is 20p! I’ll add the earnings to the loft conversion fund. It might pay for a nail or two! 😉✒️ Declutter 2025👗 Fashion on the Ration 2025 61/66 coupons (5 coupons silver boots)✒️Declutter 2024 🏅🏅🏅(DSis 🏅🏅)

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks to include MMiM - do this before I go to bed
2. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ I have an acronym - I.R.I.S. being Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off
3. Implement a new sleep/wake up regime - start going to bed earlier (target before 2:00 a.m.) get up earlier (target by 9:00 a.m.)
4. Deal with ‘Urgent’ daily mail immediately & the rest at the weekend
5. Don’t put it down, put it away
6. If I spot a mini task deal with it immediately e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
7. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
I have done precisely nothing apart from deal with todays mail - so much for chivvying myself into action 😔 DSis has done one load of washing which is now tumble drying - neither of us liked the look of the weather 😔 Although typically it hasn’t rained as yet 🙄 DH got home 17:15 - he has been discharged 🥳 no more injections & no more scans 🙂 However, any unusual sensations in his leg & he should go straight to A&E. I will now try & catch up on the cheerleading 😉
Muddy_Walker, now that your hubby is back from Boston you will have to stop all the parties 😂 Sorry to hear that you have been having problems with your health 😔 Very kind of you to teach the help desk chap some new swear words 🤣 Shame about the sweet peas - they are so pretty 😔
Florenceem, sounds like MrF definitely needs to find something to occupy him other than sorting recycling 🤔 Perhaps gardening or growing vegetables 🤨 Sorry to hear that you are not enjoying your sewing 😔
Floss, straight to the heart of the matter 😊
Dfw38, you have shown so much restraint 😊 More hugs coming your way 🤗 🤗
TC77, a lovely supportive post 😊 Good luck with your decluttering this weekend 🍀
EnergyShifter, pleased to hear that you are enjoying your break - lots of rest 😊Some lovely highlights 👏 especially the fact that DS is enjoying his new responsibility of mowing the lawn 🥳 Sorry to hear that there have been lowlights but how fortunate that your CBT has given you the tools to cope 😊Great decluttering & task completion 👏 Thanks for the 😇 I have already added it to my signature
~FlowerPot~ what a busy Friday you had - excellent work on tidying & completing numerous tasks 👏Like you, I am not very impressed with your dentist 😖 especially as you waited so long for the pain to go away of its own accord 😔
Wednesday2000, well done on starting your winter preparations 👏 seems anachronistic but with the weather we are currently having it also seems justified 😔 Perhaps umbrellas should be attached to your husband in some way 😂
-taff, excellent & eclectic decluttering 👏 Wishing you good luck tackling the sewing area 🍀
Florenceem, what a shame that MrF isn’t a hobbies man 😔 He is missing out on so much 😞 Hope you had a lovely anniversary 😊 Good luck with the wardrobe declutter 🍀
Brie, perhaps MrBunBun could be clothed as well to hide the worst of the damage 😉 Excellent work in the room of doom 👏 Sounds like you found a couple of treasures 😊 I am really hoping that once OH has decided which hat should have the honour of having the “marvellous hat feather” that you will post a photo 🙏 Your descriptive turn of phrase about “an Austrian gentleman’s walking hat” conjured up visions of old films 😊
EnergyShifter, sounds like a lovely morning 😊 What wonderful news about your friend 😊
Brie, how lovely of OH 🥹 Though as you say it does explain the need to declutter 😉
Deni_debt-free_dreamer, fingers crossed that the weather stays fine for Saturday’s theatre visit 🤞Good luck finding bingo prizes 🍀
weenancy, what a cheeky neighbour 😉 I hope you gave him short shrift. The last feral cat must be feeling quite lonely now that his sister is gone so no wonder he has taken mummy cat & kittens under his wing or should that be paw 🙂 Excellent electronic decluttering 👏 no wonder you feel good 😊Great news that the large fish tank is going to a good home 👏 that should create a lot of space 🥳 I love the idea that you are keeping from doing mischief to your roommates by keeping busy with updating the Swiss family tree 🤣 Fingers crossed that roommate Di’s sweeping training will work on her 4th go around 🤞I was wondering if you are now accepting book donations again? as I seem to remember you were running out of space to store them 😉 Weenancy, with only you really working on decluttering, cleaning & tidying I think you are dong a marvellous job 👏 I am keeping everything crossed that the maximum temperature next week is 30C 🤞& that your house stays cool 😎
Excellent decluttering short_bird 👏
Excellent work florianatwobob 👏 Great work with the recycling & 40p is 40p 😊 hopefully it will become a permanent feature 🤞

I’m back! I’ve been following along, but have done zero decluttering all holiday; it was nice to take a break from it.
Now I’m back I can suddenly see more things we just don’t need considering we just lived without them for a week quite happily. On the plus side I did come back and think our house looks quite spacious and so I must be close to my decluttering targets for the house. I’ve also realised how little food we actually need to feed all of us and so I will be redoubling my efforts to not overbuy and use up everything that we have in stock.
I’ve decided to ask myself a new question on my stuff of “Do I use it now?”. If not, why not and can I start using it? If not then it should go. I should also try and tackle the areas where the drawers/cupboards etc still don’t really work. It’s probably a combination of decluttering and finding a better organisation system. I take ages to work through this stuff though and I’m still working out how to organise the big upstairs cupboard that has all the sheets/spare duvets/pillows as well as spare toiletries, first aid stuff, blankets, batteries, light bulbs etc. if I could save a whole drawer from the wardrobe that might help, but I would rather get it into the cupboard and have like things together. But then I also hate the wardrobe drawers as they are hard to open so they are better off with not often used things…
Basically I’ve no idea, but more decluttering and organisation until the slightly annoying areas are no longer annoying would be good! I already immediately got rid of some bathroom stuff for the kids when we got back as they were happy with one bath toy each when we were away. I’ve purged the ones left that they don’t use anyway. Lots more to come I’m sure as I’ve already got a small pile of things for Buy Nothing to list!
I will capitalise on my feelings from holiday (usually lasts a week) to get rid of things and then will try my hardest to have more of a balance and limit my decluttering everyday. I like to get things done and will keep going until it’s done, but at the expense of everything else. I need to learn to slow down a bit and build it into a usual routine as I am closer to the end of the journey than the start. Perhaps I should go for a time limit of decluttering everyday?Digital:
