Thursday is a brighter day than yesterday - blue skies & sunshine 🙂 I was up & dressed by 09:30. DH is also up & partially dressed. He did come downstairs but because he is is using a stick he couldn’t carry anything back up 😔 So I took up a pot of porridge & a small cup of coffee. DH will set off to the hospital about 10:30 to collect his meds. So back to cheerleading whilst I try to wake up fully & make decisions about what to do today 😉
Brie, well done to both you & OH - as you say ‘spectacular decluttering’ & a tidy sum of money for the kitty 👏 Also great work giving away your cheaper art supplies - sounds like you made someone very happy 😊
Nice to see you Pennypincin 👋 Firstly let me congratulate you on your slimming success 🥳 One medal 🏅 coming your way. Decluttering lbs which has led to great decluttering of clothing 👏 Good luck with your hunt for new to you clothes in the CS 🍀
Florenceem, that new fabric is gorgeous 😻 I hope you approve of the carefully selected emoji 😉
More excellent digital decluttering QueenJess 👏
Lovely post Pennypincin 😊 Perhaps seeing all Florenceem’s different makes will inspire you to find a craft that will allow you to describe yourself as a ‘crafty’ person 😊 I am not particularly ‘crafty’ but I can knit so taking my own advice ‘I am a crafter’ 😉
Liverpool_Anne, fingers crossed that your referral will occur soon & that your mind can be put to rest 🤞Excellent decluttering 👏 Your expression “can I thump” is not one I have heard before but it does convey a feeling of frustration at not being able to find something 😉
Great decluttering oceanspirit 👏 Hope the hall table is suitably clear now 🤞
Florenceem, hope you enjoyed yesterday’s SA friendship/lunch club yesterday 😊 I read ‘wombling’ as ‘wobbling’ 😂 what am I like 🙄 Just wondering if MrF has any crafting skills that can keep him out of mischief 😉 I second Floss’s comment 😊
GrannyKate, your lovely description of Scottish scenery is spot on 😊 Congratulations on passing the halfway mark to your decluttering target 🥳 One Gold Star ⭐️ is on its way 👏
Dfw38, Ziggy is so, so cute ☺️ I bet you will have family & friends queuing up to look after him when you are on holiday 😊
~FlowerPot~ so few words conveying so much meaning & emotion 😊
Floss, sounds like both your digital & paperwork decluttering are going well 👏 I think someone has already suggested the soaking paper in water in lieu of buying a shredder 🙂 The pulp can then be put in a compost bin or maybe even dug in around the base of your flowers 🙂
Florenceem, pleased to hear that MrF is now fit enough to resume his recycling role at the SA 😊 but even more pleased that the recycling can be dealt with on-site 🥳 Having read your mention of the prayer vigil, I will join you in my sincere wish & hope that this appalling new Anti-Immigration Bill is consigned to the rubbish bin. Our government should be ashamed of themselves 😡 I am lost for words at the inhumanity & downright cruelty 😭
Brie, shame about the cat carrier 😔 but it has given sterling service 😊
~FlowerPot~ excellent decluttering of emails 👏 I wish you continued success in reducing your emails to a manageable level 😊 As you say, QueenJess is an inspiration 😊
And breathe TC77 😉 You are juggling so many balls at the moment, that I think you need to pop into the TLC Carriage & have a cuppa 😊 Good luck with the email decluttering 🍀 Thanks for the photo 🙂 & absolutely no need to be mortified, as from memory, the conservatory is at least ten times better than when I saw it 👏 😉 For a start I can see lots of floor & the furniture is no longer stacked high with clutter 🥳 You have done far more work than you give yourself credit for so I am awarding you a medal 🏅 to remind you of your success 👏
DH phoned about midday, had all his needles & meds + an appointment card for a scan of his leg for Friday 28th. I had taken the phone outside so I could take advantage of the sunshine & ended up having a lovely chat with neighbour G (who had offered to drive me to the hospital and/or pick up DH 😊) We chatted about DH, about G’s building work - he has had a separate building put up in the garden - a sort of ‘man cave’. We also had a very funny conversation about an husband’s role in the maternity unit 🤣 He had me in stitches 🤣
Now back to cheerleading as I am determined to catch up even if it is only for a few minutes 😉 As a quick aside, a few weeks ago I trawled back through the years & found each year’s Decluttering thread 😉 Discovered that the busiest year for posts was 2012 with 588 pages 😅 The class of 2023 has now gone sailing past that & it is only the 20th of July 🥳🤩 Flowers to all of us 💐
Florenceem, please try not to get stressed about the fabrics that are coming in 🙏 You are making so many items for sale & seem to be using the fabrics quicker than you can order them 🥳 + you are also using various bits & pieces from your stash 😊 At the rate you are crafting all the tables at your next table top sale will be selling items you have made 🤩
TC77, fingers crossed that the black unit swiftly departs & then you will see even more floor 🥳 Hope that you enjoyed last night’s Pilates session & also had a good night’s sleep 🤞
Floss, your colour schemes sound wonderful 😊 very cheery 😃
It is a conspiracy 🤣 DH has just phoned (12:50) apologising for not being home yet- he was so busy chatting to a lady who also had a walking stick that he got on the wrong train & ended up at Stratford 🙄 He is now on the bus & barring him falling asleep should be home by 13:00 🤞Arrived home 12:56 & has gone upstairs to give himself an injection 😥
Concentration is now well & truly broken, so will post this & return later 🙂

Decided I would have one last attempt to catch up with the cheerleading, so here goes 🤞
Excellent decluttering of physical items & tasks Liverpool_Anne 👏 Good luck in your quest to find circular needles 🍀 Sadly, I have never been able to knit in the round 😔 I really need to ‘stir my stumps’ & hunt out a course 😉 as sewing up knitted garments is not one of my favourite things to do 😂
wort, great idea to turn paper into pulp 👏 Shredders can be so very temperamental 😉
stellata, so sorry to hear that your wound got infected 😔 Hopefully the remedial action will preclude the need for antibiotics 🤞Quite agree - an annoying ex should be completely ignored 👏 they only way to stay sane 😉 Excellent decluttering & thanks for jogging my memory that I need a new chopping board 👏 Excellent work in the cupboard 👏 & sounds like a really good idea to keep it empty 😊
Thanks for the hugs Gers 😊
Florenceem, MrSD is definitely improved since his marathon hospital visit 😊 Hope the hospital visit with MrF goes well & that the bus journey is not too tiring for either of you 🤞 Crafter extraordinaire - crochet as well 🤩👏 I am torn between which I like best - cat stockings or dog stockings 🤔
Excellent decluttering GrannyKate 👏 Not convinced I would class 6 items as plodding 😉
Excellent photo decluttering QueenJess 👏 At the rate you are going you will have got through all the photos etc in about 2.5 weeks 😊
Thanks for the hugs daisy_1571 👏 Having had an actual hug, I can confirm to the rest of the declutterati that your hugs are well worth accepting 😊
Thanks Wednesday2000 😊 DH is definitely feeling better especially as he is moving around a lot more today 😉 Although he seems to be determined to make my hair turn white 🤣
Floss, you obviously have a ‘good eye’ for taking photographs 😊
Excellent work Rootle especially with regards to the digital decluttering 👏

Floss said:wort said:@Floss rather than buy a shredder, you could soak letters/papers in a bowl of water then scrunch them up they go to a pulp , think of paper left in a pocket and washed . They can be left whole or ripped before putting in water. I had a shredder and it wasn’t used much, it was bulky and soon stopped working. So had to go to the tip , I do this or burn outside in a metal bucket/fire pit now. The water method is easier.
Now the problem is - what do you do with your hand made paper!!!
(as an alternative.....collect a lot of seeds from the garden - granny bonnets, foxglove, poppy etc - and sprinkly on top of spread out pulp, add another layer, spread and then pop on the top cloth and roll it out. Dry. Now you have seedy paper that can be used next year by guerilla gardeners or to pop a bit of floral loveliness into random corners of your garden)I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. Between 14:10 & 15:00 I did several small jobs 😉 First I finished off last night’s wudupa; cleared, washed & dried the kitchen window sill & returned most items except the air freshener & spare hose fittings which were returned to their assigned places & a pair of rubber gloves which I binned 😉; deadheaded the dahlia; rescued a rather chubby mouse from the bird feed bin (having chased him/her around for 30 seconds); filled the bird feeders; moved the fat-balls & bag of birdseed (from neighbour I) out of the house to the storage box in the garden; binned DH’s rotting garden gloves; picked, washed & ate the solitary blackberry - a tad sour 😂 & took some chicken out of the freezer for tonight’s dinner. Now sitting down with a cuppa & about to watch Friday’s Countdown. Not a peep out of DH - he is lying on the bed with his leg elevated.

Brie, what great & imaginative uses for hm paper pulp 🥳👏
Hope everyone is having a good day & that the weather is being kind 😊

Thanks for the 🐈 ❤️. Ziggy definitely deserves it 😆.
Today I tackled the cupboard under the stairs....again 🙄. All organised and clean, we have 4 shelves for our pantry as our kitchen is too hot to store food (will be too cold in 2 months time 🤨) and ziggy has his own shelves.... 3 of them 🤣 if dh sees this he will think I have favourites 😍
I have decided to implement 'a job a day for the school holiday' things like reorganising the linen cupboard etc to try and get ahead while there is no school run to hopefully make life smoother for September and by making it just one job a day it won't take-over too much of the summer holiday.
So today's head start was the cupboard under the stairs - deliberately chosen so the dc don't see the snacks and goodies as they are in school until tomorrow afternoon.
Tomorrow I am going to tackle the c-word stash and make a list of what I have already and find a new place to hide it. I have got hold of another large box so will resume my decluttering by box volume again. I think i have about 90 boxes to go until I hit target 😖
