2. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ I have an acronym - I.R.I.S. being Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off
3. Implement a new sleep/wake up regime - start going to bed earlier (target before 2:00 a.m.) get up earlier (target by 9:00 a.m.)
4. Deal with ‘Urgent’ daily mail immediately & the rest at the weekend
5. Don’t put it down, put it away
6. If I spot a mini task deal with it immediately e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
7. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
DH phoned about 20:15 - finally seen but was waiting for the results of a blood test. Neighbour G had offered to pick up DH from the Urgent Treatment Centre but DH has decided that he would enjoy the walk to the bus stop as he has been sitting around all day 🙂 DSis & I have had our dinner - pork steaks, mash & peas. I will warm up mash & peas for DH but will cook his pork steak from scratch.
1655 - 1656 Kitchen recycling, glass jar - recycled
1657 Kitchen detritus binned
bit_by_bit, I’m not a fan of the new look either 😔 Great decluttering & very kind of you to still be doing DS3’s laundry 👏
Florenceem, more beautiful sewing 👏 You have been busy 🙂
22:25 DH just phoned. Blood test is back but he now has to wait for someone to tell him the results 😔You couldn’t make it up 🙄
TC77, unfortunately not enough cheerleading as I am still trying to catch up 😉 Excellent decluttering both from your home & your Dad’s house 👏 Keeping my fingers crossed that you aren’t keeping too much of your Dad’s stuff 🤞 🙂
florianatwobob, sorry to hear that the wind was so strong that you are having to spend money sooner than expected 😔 Sounds like you had a lovely day on Saturday even with the rain 😊
Liverpool_Anne, batch cooking & making sure that no food goes to waste is definitely decluttering 😉Sounds like a lovely way to spend Sunday afternoon - with friends & eating good food 😊 All I am hoping now is that DH hasn’t caused his knee/leg any extra damage 🤞
EnergyShifter, no chance of falling off the EDT, it is still moving way too fast 😉
Sounds like you had a lovely weekend 😊 A great result avoiding exH but a shame for your DS 😔 Your ex sounds like an extremely selfish & thoroughly unpleasant man 😠
Florenceem, sounds like life is finally returning to normalcy 😊 The stockings are beautiful 😻
Fizz2015, pleased to hear that you are recovering well from the muscle tear in your leg 😊 but please don’t overdo it 🙏 Well done to OH for getting all the ironing done on Sunday - even if it did take all day 👏 That deserves a medal 🏅 Perhaps if the wardrobes are too full, that could be your starting point to get back into the swing of decluttering 😉 Congratulations on losing 3lbs 🥳
23:30 just had another quick call from DH - rather worryingly he has been passed on to yet another dept - Ambulatory Emergency Care. Annoyingly the staff haven’t told him what is going on 😖 I asked if he wanted me to come to the hospital but he said no although I am now gathering bits & pieces together & will probably call a cab & just turn up as he now been out of the house for 10.5 hrs.

Hi all, thank goodness we had a break from the rain today. 4 x LDFPA and I have another load in the machine which will hopefully go on the line tomorrow. Between sorting them I sorted a seat change for the footy next season for my nephew. I am sure it should be easy but I always struggle with it. I have to pretend to be my nephew on line and use his log in and password etc. I have enough trouble remembering mine
.
I finally got around to sorting out the car insurance as well. I did a quick search on line and came up with a quote £40 cheaper with my current company so I phoned them to ask why there was a difference. The lady I spoke to said she didn't know so I asked to speak to somebody who did know! I was put through to another lady who went through both quotes and I managed to save more money£80 which pleased me no end
. It just goes to show it really is worth spending a little time on
While I had the lap top on I deleted 100 emails but I needed a break from the tech for a while by then so I had a rummage through a draw and various things were put in the bin or recycling. The draw is still too full but it's a bit better. I will revisit it at some point in the future.
After tea I went back on line as I need some longer circular needles for the baby jacket I am going to attempt. I do have some straight ones in the right size and some short circulars but the pattern is knitted in the round and calls for long circularsbut at least they will easily fit in my knitting bag
Then I emptied the kitchen recycling bin
@Mrs SD I hope Mr SD is ok. It sounds like he has had a very trying and exhausting day hugs.
@Dfw38 I have kitten envy
@Brie, I had one of those wicker cat carriers which has only recently gone and my cat died about 18 years ago. I still miss her but unfortunately OH is allergic to them otherwise I would have another in a heart beat
Ok off to bed now, hugs to anybody who would like one
1026 - 1029 4 x LDFPA
1030 footy seat sorted
1031 car insurance sorted
1032 100 emails permanently deleted
1033 kitchen recycling emptied
Take care everyone

Phoned the hospital at 00:25 & got put through to correct dept quite quickly only to be informed that DH had been discharged at 22:45. I really didn’t think so & I informed the nurse that DH had phoned me at 23:30 so must still be there somewhere 🙄 She looked around & spotted him. DH was allowed to talk to me for a couple of minutes. He was hoping to be home soon - apparently some sort of mix up 🤔 He finally got home 02:10 by cab, having been out of the house for just over 12.5 hours. The mix up was due to the fact that DH was in one dept & his blood test results were somewhere else 😔 DH was given an anticoagulant (injected into his stomach) & has to go back to the hospital tomorrow morning to collect a supply to inject himself twice a day for 3 months 😱 The problem with that is that he has a scan booked for 19:00 tomorrow for something else - although the silver lining is that it is in the same hospital 😮💨 I made DH a coffee, he ate his dinner & then went to bed. Everything was running late - veg box only turned up at 01:50. Paid milkman at 03:10 & of course I am now wide awake - typical 😔 Our relief was palpable & again all praise to the NHS 👏 DSis went to bed about 03:15.
Dfw38, excellent decluttering on both Sunday & Monday 👏 Shame about your DDs playing up & having to dismantle the bunk beds 😔 What an odd thing for DD2 to do 🤨
stellata, ouch that is a lot of emails 😣 no wonder you were upset 😢 Hope you have a swift resolution to your current medical issues 🤞Excellent decluttering & selling 👏
QueenJess, hope the culling of photos is emotionally more up than down 🤞 That is a gorgeous photo 😻
Wednesday2000, well done on tidying your last kitchen cupboard 👏
QueenJess, not sure I’ve been to Poole Harbour 🤔
Brie, lovely view to see on your way to & from work 😊 lucky you 🍀

~FlowerPot~ best wishes for pupster’s continuing recovery & fingers crossed he will not require any further treatment 🤞Hope that DS doesn’t need a coat anytime soon 😉
Florenceem, lovely sock & I checked everything out on the crafting thread 😊
Floss, you have some beautiful photos on your walls 😊 Are you the photographer?
QueenJess, a gallery wall of your favourite photos sounds perfect 🤩 Excellent decluttering & I see I was correct & you passed the 30,000 mark on Monday 👏
Excellent decluttering short_bird 👏
Excellent decluttering Liverpool_Anne 👏 One Gold Star ⭐️ on its way for being over halfway to your target 😊 Great suggestion for stellata re decluttering emails 👏
Thanks weenancy 👏 At least DSis does the cooking the day we get back so I get an extra day off 😉
2Scratters, photos converted to jigsaws 🤔- sounds like a good business 😉😊
QueenJess, sorry to hear that you were feeling overwhelmed on Tuesday 😔 Perhaps you need to train DH & DS to do the last 10% of each of your big projects 😉 Although training them up would be a project in itself 😂 Excellent decluttering as usual 👏 Even when you are feeling overwhelmed you still manage to do more in a day than I do in 2 weeks 🤩
oceanspirit, just wondering if most of the people helping you were your fellow declutterati 😉 Well done on nudging a frog 👏
Florenceem, you obviously both needed a lie-in on Tuesday 😊 Great painting work by DGS J 👏The large dog bone stocking looks almost good enough to eat especially if you are a dog 😅
I have caught up a little more but am finally sleepy so am off to bed

@Floss rather than buy a shredder, you could soak letters/papers in a bowl of water then scrunch them up they go to a pulp , think of paper left in a pocket and washed . They can be left whole or ripped before putting in water. I had a shredder and it wasn’t used much, it was bulky and soon stopped working. So had to go to the tip , I do this or burn outside in a metal bucket/fire pit now. The water method is easier.Focus on contribution instead of the impressiveness of consumption to see the true beauty in people.16

I can't find who suggested sorting emails alphabetically and deleting whole pages of spam but thank you, it's a lot quicker that way! Still a lot to go tho
my wound from procedure 3 weeks ago got infected so back to the surgery to have it cleaned and dressed, hope it settles now or I'll have to go back for antibiotic.Ex has resurfaced and is being annoying, I'm trying hard to ignore as I spent years helping him out and got nothing but unkindness and rudeness. He'll be needing something no doubt, some help or some money, and I haven't got either to give right now so best to ignore I think.
decluttering wise I went to the tip with a box of batteries some dead bulbs, a batch of cardboard and a worn out chopping board. All recycled so brownie points for me.
I braved my top landing cupboard which hasn't been emptied since I moved in and is still full of random stuff left by previous occupants. it's a bit inaccessible without a ladder. Mostly bits of plumbing/diy junk but also a box of perfectly usable toiletries, soap, bath foam and some hair stuff. I'll at least try using it, I'm sure it'll work fine despite being some years old! If not, I can repurpose it to clean the toilet. The bits of plastic pipe work will have to be binned though. In theory I can use the space for other stuff but it isn't really useful space and the whole point of being on here is to declutter not to fill cupboards up, so I'll try to leave it empty, which will make it easier to get to the various pipes in there should anyone need to.Magnolia Stellata19 -

Hope Mr SD is okay after his marathon hospital visit.
Today is our bus journeys day to hospital appointments - audio - micro suction on ears.
Finished some dog Christmas stockings - they measure approx 14 inches from cuff to toe - I can just with a bit of wiggling - get 6 out of a metre of fabric.
I must get back into crochet - make fingerless gloves - they sold well.
