Floss - no not had the jab - N didn't come in - we talked outside and I didn't cuddle her.
DGs J finished the painting early so I went to help at SA lunch club - had a lovely meal - no cooking for me today.
Then I completed the list I had planned - took stuff to 2 charity shops, returned the unwanted sandals, exchanged broken bags in Mr T and shopped in Aldi. Tired now - think it is time for ice cream.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

@Moorviews thanks
As it turned out, I had spent so long planning the drawers and even mapped out what bits will go in what drawers that it turned out to be pretty easy as I just followed my own guide! I can't believe how good the drawers are that I got today and I just don't know why I didn't get them before! I have some pieces still lying around as I want to double check which drawer DS wants me to put those in and there are some lying around where it isn't clear whether he is still building with them or they need taking apart. The manuals are still pending as I didn't find a container that I thought would work. I was hoping I might find one around the house somewhere in the form of a cardboard box or something.
Less good is the bookshelves and other random "stuff". There is a lot of general "stuff" which has to go somewhere and it is proving very tricky. Some I can't deal with because DS hasn't been through it yet so I don't know whether he wants it or not. The rest is just tricky. As we are moving everything round it is a case of asking where it should go in the new system and I can't currently see quite how it will all fit. Maybe I should make piles of stuff so I can separate the things DS needs to go through and then I know everything else should go away. The library is so bad that I'm glad I am physically going into work tomorrow. I will force myself to deal with at least 3 things in there today (and probably every day) so that I can slowly empty it back out.If I can get DS's room done it'll be a huge weight off my mind. Seeing as I started upstairs, I may as well continue up here, so DD's bedroom and more library decluttering are probably next. Dread to think about DH's office.... definitely one for when I have more time since DH still has drawers to go through in the bedroom.. Oh and I think DH has ordered his garage cupboard so my services will be required for that as well (I am completely dreading that one and may enlist the help of DS!).2025 decluttering: 3,958🌟🥉🌟💐🏅🏅🌟🥈🏅🌟🏅💐💎🌟🏅🏆🌟🏅

@Mrs SD no danger of me doing too much here 😂
I am exhausted just from reading about everyone else’s achievements ( well done all 👏)
so I’ve hoovered the house, a couple of lots of washing done, dried outside and put away. I’ve been to the rescheduled sports day for LO. Unpacked the shopping, and dropped bag off at charity shop with some of LO outgrown shoes and clothes. Also found some new DVDs ( no DVDPlayer here) so they went too, and several pairs of goggles. I’ve kept 2.I’ve cooked dinner. This makes a change as we’ve been eating a lot of salads and sandwiches as it’s been so hot. The freezer is very full, I had to cram the ice cream in. Plan is to use some stuff up from the freezer and not spend too much on groceries. No doubt the ice cream will be 1st to be eaten !!
I have a lot to do, but small steps ….16 -
a non declutter today.....food bank where I work has been given crates and crates of gluten free cereal in various flavours as the company that makes it is changing it's branding and needs to get rid of stock. Well that's all fine. But! About 50 boxes of it is BBD tomorrow which was just spotted (by me) yesterday. The manager had been holding it in reserve for the summer/school's out hunger programme but we won't be allowed to give it out then. So I've acquired a box for the OH as he likes a bowl of silly cereal occasionally and these are chocolate hoops - but supposedly healthy low sugar ones. If he likes it he may get a couple of extra boxes.
This is one of the problems with donations we get sometimes. Things are either short dated or are vile. A few months back a local company had done a sample give away of breakfast bars and had overestimated how many they would need. The stock couldn't be returned to the warehouse for sale so ended up with us. They were well within their BBD but I don't know anyone who tried them that would willingly eat a second one. This is one of the reasons I alway buy stuff (or encourage others) that I actually like. That way I feel sure someone who gets the donation might enjoy it too.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. Small step - Monday I cleaned the top of the stove. I don't cook on top of the stove, but it was a disaster. Roommates never clean it up after they cook. But it looks a lot better. Clean sink and clean stove top make the kitchen look a bit better.
Declutter Tuesday with Dog again. How she finds the things she does I have no idea. But she did find the missing box of tea, which I got away from her before she chewed it open. She did spend part of the time lying down quietly. In the afternoon, went to a meeting of Friends of the Library leaders from 8 libraries. Our treasurer drove and it was one of the most hair-raising drives ever. Not her driving - everyone else on the road. Two people crossed lanes in front of us to make turns from the wrong lanes, two people ran red lights and one almost hit the car next to us, and people were jamming on the brakes at strange times. I was amazed we made it in one piece to the meeting which was in the library where I worked back in the 1970s. Interesting to see the changes and be able to talk about ideas for new activities and fund-raisers for the Friends. Then went to the Family History Center and helped a young lady with her ancestors from the Azores. Found some wonderful records including a passport application for one of the ancestors giving his birthdate and place so she is well on her way. The last name had been spelled really badly (the name started with a Q, but it it was indexed under his middle name instead which was also misspelled). It is always exciting when we make a big break-through on someone's family.
Today is gas for the car, bank day, and grocery shopping, then picking up medications. So keeping busy. In between, I have proof-read the first 54 pages of a book I am rewriting. About 1/5 of the way through. Hope to have it ready to go on Amazon within the next month.
First day of summer - and we finally have sunshine. Happy Summer Solstice to everyone. Enjoy the longest day of the year.16 -
Florenceem if you are over 70 you can have a shingles jab
Please think seriously about having one
Shingles is no fun and the after nerve pains can be agony and continue for a very long time
( Ask me how I know !)16 -
Suffolksue - I don't think I have been offered the shingles jab.
I may have to see the Doctor about my recent blood test so will ask about it.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Did a tip run yesterday so there are no more things hanging round the garden, a bucket, four buckets of sawdust and lumps from the tree being cut down, some wood, a burned carpet, a plastic bucket, various broken china items fromt he kitchen and a frost broken terracotta pot, a pallet [ I know, but it was Justins], a bag of garden detritus, a bag of shredded paper [ wrong type for the compost bin] and plastic plant pot trays.Next week I start the re-declutter. We're having new radiators in some rooms so I need to whittle the extreme boxes down.Liverpool Anne, my condolences..Florence, omg, that's an amazing amount of work, no wonder you've lost weight. eat more ice cream...Brie, is there a commuity fridge or larder near you? They are not bothered about short date/expired things as long as they're still edible.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi13

vulpix said:When we moved to this tiny dolls house a couple of years ago, I kept asking DH to stop leaving his boots wherever he took them off. He gave it lip service and I stopped moving them. He came down stairs , fell over them, head butted the fridge leaving a dent and spent 6 weeks in a leg cast and on crutches. Extreme I know, but needs must. 🤣
Yet again I am in the car on the way back from Nottingham. I just answered the phone at MIL’s to someone talking about a medilink bracelet. I said are you a real person? She said, yes, I am new and reading a script. I am sorry if I sound monogamous. Who knew?13 -
@vulpix - thanks for your thoughts DGS1 has his last exam on Friday - Dr has given him antibiotics for the ear today. They are in the Midlands and it has been hot there but they've also had the thunderstorms. DD had horrid trip home from London yesterday as long delays and it took 7 or 8 hours in the end. Her car was at garage for new tyres today and she got phone call to say it was complete wreck as a lorry had tipped its load of concrete panels on top of it. marvellous.
Not sure I have any numbers to report in except clearing emails as usual. I got a lot of surveys from the academic site that pays well this morning so did those. I went to garden centre to get more sticks and some mesh for my cucumbers in greenhouse and popped in Mr T but nothing exciting.
