Weather forecast changed to rain at 10am so J just did the gardening today. Bless him - he arrived at just after 7am - I had already been to the SA with a bag of fabric recycling. Front and back gardens are now tidy. He will be here tomorrow to do the painting.
The fabric for DGd's skirt is awful to work with so not enjoying making the skirt.
We have heavy rain and thunder here now - hosepipe ban starts next week.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Bought dress yesterday as planned. Did some personal care things over the weekend and have a face mask to try today.
Rain due to continue all day so have read magazine this morning and put it ready for recycling, will clear out some emails that have built back up again and will make a curry with the last of the fresh veg.
Put 2 portions of veg stew in the freezer compartment yesterday so that's main meals sorted for the rest of the week. Will do interesting things with tins, packets and jars for lunches as don't want to take anything home - we don't have room for anything else there!
House sale completed yesterday and OH says he will unlock the garden gate so I can climb in through bedroom window when I get home as he has filled every single space with his things! I'm sure it's not that bad.

Oh wow thank you for all the awards @Mrs_Salad_Dodger - will update the signature with pride and let you know my mum's reaction to her's when I tell her later 😆
@Florenceem I am in awe of your pictures and the progress you're making.
Today's tasks are to pick up a parcel, put some laundry away and do a food shop - all with a slightly gammy foot thanks to an insect bite.Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 201715 -
My parcel arrived today - tried on the new sandals and like one pair.
Popped in town - took 2 bags of stuff to the charity shop and got 10% off ice lollies in Icelan.
My machine did not like the skirt fabric so I ended up sewing the turn over for elastic by hand. Left the hem as is - not a fraying fabric and it is only for one dance performance.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks to include MMiM - do this before I go to bed
2. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ I have an acronym - I.R.I.S. being Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off
3. Implement a new sleep/wake up regime - start going to bed earlier (target before 2:00 a.m.) get up earlier (target by 9:00 a.m.)
4. Deal with ‘Urgent’ daily mail immediately & the rest at the weekend
5. Don’t put it down, put it away
6. If I spot a mini task deal with it immediately e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
7. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Tuesday is a rather overcast day but still quite warm 23C. Apparently I slept through the thunderstorm last night 😉 but at least the garden got watered for free 👏 DSis has done a wash load which is out on the whirligig & she has gone out now so I will need to keep an eye out for rain 😔 DH went to sm with a small shopping list & is now back with everything put away. Once I have caught up with the cheerleading I will be tackling the fridge as I think I should at least try to get something, anything done today 😉
Excellent decluttering Liverpool_Anne 👏 Shame that OH took a couple of bits out before you managed to get out of the house 😔 Very impressed that you managed to release a few sentimental items 👏 & Well done on your successful prising away of the manky cushion 😂 Fingers crossed that the rain did stay away 🤞
nannywindow, sounds like you had an entertaining Sunday with your Dad 😉 Maybe DGD persuaded the other DGC not to turn up so she plenty of choice for Tuesday 😂 Excellent decluttering & hopefully DH will not take 2 years to put up the new garden fence 🤞 At least the scrappy man will be pleased 😉 Lovely chatty post & no you weren’t waffling 😊
Florenceem, if anyone deserves treats it is you 😊 Sounds like the OT was very thorough in her inspection 🙂 I must say I might have been tempted to show her the before photos but then I can be quite wicked 😈 I have skipped ahead to see your before & after photos of the RoD & am astonished at how much you have got done 🤩 So much clear floor perfect for MrF to practice his walking 🥳 A Gold Star ⭐️ is coming your way & will hopefully arrive with the sandals 😉🤞
weenancy, vulpix’s room might look better than your kitchen BUT I don’t think vulpix has ‘lazy roommates’ to contend with or a ‘helpful husky’ 😉
Lovely to see you back D123456789 👋 but so sorry to hear that Covid made you so poorly 🤒 & with DH having Covid as well it is no wonder that your home became a bit of a mess 😔 Please do Not try to do everything at once 🙏 you still need time to recover & build your strength up 🙂 Does the cancellation of Tuesday’s sports day mean that LO will be at home? Hope the Ocado delivery is a success 🤞
florianatwobob your night out was even better than I thought especially as you & your friends were able to sort out a few problems as well as have some fun 😊
Lovely supportive post bit_by_bit 😊 Excellent decluttering, cleaning & finding time to work on the allotment 👏 Definitely a very productive day 😊& well done on selling a huge teddy - more space & money in your coffers - win win 🥳 I also notice that you are well over halfway to your £2023 target 👏
Excellent decluttering in DS’s room QueenJess 👏 Hopefully you will get the books sorted in your next session in DS’s room 🤞
Great work EnergyShifter 👏
Liverpool_Anne, Excellent work in both your garden & In’s garden 👏 Hope the appointment goes well 🤞 - like you I never miss. Lovely post & I hope you manage to find a way out of the research wormhole 😉 What a great idea for Florenceem - perhaps some of that crime scene tape across the door to warn MrF not to enter 😉
Oh Florenceem, what are you like 😊 The costume sounds great & DGD is such a lucky girl to have such a wonderful grandmother 🤩 Although I do agree with Liverpool_Anne that a bit more notice would have been useful 😔 Don’t forget to treat yourself to some ice cream - before, during & after you have finished your sewing 😉
Liverpool_Anne, I agree 😊 More notice would have meant that Florenceem could have factored it into her day without too much stress 😔
GrannyKate, Sounds like you had a lovely if busy weekend 😊 The swimming/paddling pool sounds like an excellent investment as it has brought so much pleasure 👏 Where does the time go 😉 Fingers crossed that DGS1’s ear infection can be alleviated before his last A-Level exam 🤞Great decluttering👏 & you have reminded me that I really need to sort my fridge out 😉
Nice to see you TC77 👋 I had thought work might ease up at least a little with a new member of staff employed 😔 Great decluttering - sounfpds like you are keeping on top of the daily stuff & also dealing with major frogs 👏
stellata, sorry to hear that you have so much going on with regards to your health 😔 Hopefully the referrals will be the start of your recovery & return to wellness 🤞 Shame that there no convenient chaps to wheel in 😔 We might have to set up an interview process & find one for you 😅
Florenceem, what a lovely DGS 😊 I am sending J a medal 🏅 to add to his gold star 🙂 Sorry to hear that the fabric for DGD’s costume is causing problems 😔 Typical that the hosepipe ban starts after lots of rain 😔
oceanspirit, sounds like you are having a relaxing time 😊 with lots of self care 👏 Pleased to hear that OH’s house sale has completed 🥳 Really, really hope that OH is exaggerating about how full your home is 😉 🤞Although it might be fun pretending to be a cat burglar 🤣 only 🙃
You are most welcome ruby_eskimo 😊 Hopefully your mum will be pleased - it means she will also appear on my end of year roundup 😉 Sorry to hear about the bite on your foot 😔 - my DSis has only just recovered from hers 😔
Florenceem, pleased to hear that you managed to get the skirt made 👏 even if you did have to resort to hand sewing 😔 Yippee to sandals arriving & only having to return one pair 🥳 Good luck with the hooves & tail 🍀
All caught up so will have some lunch & a coffee then tackle the fridge 😉

Good afternoon. Sending hugs to all who need them.
We had a weekend of birthdays as dd1 birthday on Friday and DS2 was 18 on Sunday so Saturday afternoon was a big bbq for them both.
Yesterday I went to clean the bathroom while DH carried on digging the garden and DD2 came to help. She's getting good at this decluttering! (AS long as it's not her things) She started on a shelf while I was doing the cleaning and 9 items that weren't being used but had been opened have left the house and the shelf cleaned snd everythingput back tidy.
Bins went out today so I managed to cram in the bag I'd made from our bedroom last week and DH put the clothes in he had dug up from the garden. I did ask him how many items he'd put in but he replied with 'I'm not *unrepeatable word* counting it' I was tempted to go rummage to add to my numbers 🤣
Spent all today on the sofa. Really need to move and get something done.
1165-73 9 bathroom items binned
1174-1225 52 items from box in bedroom
1226 Clothes dug up from garden

DDil and M and N have just been here - poor little N has come home from school with chicken pox.
M tried on the costume - mum will finish off the elastic and tail - wasn't sure which way to sew the tail - up looked a mite rude. Found out the costume is for a school drama performance - M had choice of squirrel or fawn - they are woodland creatures in Red Riding Hood.
Haven't heard when OT work is happening.
Don't have the energy for decluttering now.
I am going to cut up some curtains that I found in the ROD - will keep the lining for raggedy rag dolls hair - haven't made those sort of dolls for years. When I did make them - they all sold.
DGc loved Nannie's new garage door and they chose what ice lollies they wanted + went away with sweets.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

The tale of the school costume reminded me of many years ago when DD went in to school happily with her home made angel costume. teacher sidled over to me when I picked her up - er Mrs ** the angel costume is really lovely - the other angels wanted one like it - any chance you could make another 3 for us this week. I did of course.
905 Handbag to CS bag - not used in at least 10 years but a job leaving gift 25 years ago and I had kept it for Justin
906 Random numerous emails deleted
907 Card posted for Dsil's 70th
908 Electric floor mop in CS bag - not selling so it can go
909 Dentist's appointment decluttered - two fillings done
910 Hospital rang and appointment booked for repeat colonoscopy in August
There was a short break in the torrential rain after dentists so I had a walk along the sea front and got two new floaty rings for pool and some beach shoes for summer as I expect there will be lake time when we go to DDs for a break. Got absolutely soaked through again when I collected children. Popped into Mr I for packup things for school trip Thursday and more drinks. (10% day) I need to get a move on if I am going to reach the half way point (1012) by end of June.

I remember making 32 pixie hats for DGc's school and 14 aprons and mob caps for DD's class.
I still have an angel outfit - will offer it on Freegle.
Had 1 item collected by a Freegler today.
In the photo - hooves look large but they are right size for M's hands.

The person finally collected the dolls house after messing around. So frustrating especially when it's free.
Also got rid of 18 glass jars & lids for a school fete.
We adopted 2 guniea pigs at the weekend. Acquired the hutch for free too. Back later to catch up on others news.17
