Hi all, well the only thing decluttered today was the screening appt. It was lashing down so for the first time in ages I went out with shoes and socks and a jacket on which was just as well as it was a bit of a trek from the car park to the screening portacabin. It is in the car park of a hospital but most of the parking is for staff and I was soaked by the time I got there. On the way home I went to the sm for a small shop and when I came out the sun was cracking the flags but it was so humid I was in a proper lather by the time I got home
. All the shopping put away and I sorted some lunch. By then it was raining again so no gardening. I sorted through a couple of draws and have put aside some old bras to go for fabric recycling but they will not be counted until they are out of the house. I wandered around the house putting things into various bins but none are yet full
, OH arrived home with more shopping as we are visiting niece and new baby on Sunday so food is to be cooked and frozen for them. There is an unpacked bag on the floor in the kitchen which will drive me nuts by Sunday
. I have a pile of washing but I am not doing it yet as we have more rain forecast for tonight and tomorrow but it should be clear by Thursday and I really don't want wet clothes hanging around the house while it is so humid.
I just watched some tv and did some crochet after tea.
Not caught up yet so hugs to anybody who would like one
Take care everyone
STILL 867/2023 I really need to crack on with it14 -
Up and had a shower/washed & dried my hair + washing is on. No ironing to do today.
Today was down as Mr F's discharge day - wonder when I will hear about OT aids being fitted.
Finally got a plumber booked to do a boiler service next week - that will be another job off the list.
I don't know if I will get to SA today - will depend how long DGs J takes to do the painting.
I would like to take 2 bags of stuff to the charity shop today plus return the unwanted sandals + do some shopping.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Had a rough night with our poor Elmo! He decided to chase a pigeon in the garden (nothing new there!) i opened the door and he flew out (nothing new there) and jumped off our patio area onto the grass. (Nothing new there) but, somehow landed badly and has almost definetely broken his foot.😢🐶
He flies out into the garden all the time, but he does tend to launch too early and I think he clipped very top of his leg and then went over to land on the side of his foot. So it was a trip to the out of hours vets £286 just to be seen! And another £160 for drugs and a line put into his other leg ready for more meds. He was sedated and calm until about 4am,but neither got any sleep and he's been in alot of pain since 4.we have app with it vets at 10. It's looking like surgery will be needed although they haven't xrayed it yet. It's pretty obvious 😭😭😭
So hootenanny seeing him in pain. I just hope our pet insurance max will be enough 😳 im dreading it.
So no decluttering here for the forseeable except lots of money 🙄 im just having to sit with him. 🧡♥️ ♥️ ♥️🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸Decluttering 2025 So far 403 / 2025

FlowerPot - your poor dear dog! And you of course, as it is so hard seeing them upset. I hope his foot heals soon. It’s going to be quite frustrating for him if he is such an active dog. I too know that feeling of decluttering money at the vets.11

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks to include MMiM - do this before I go to bed
2. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ I have an acronym - I.R.I.S. being Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off
3. Implement a new sleep/wake up regime - start going to bed earlier (target before 2:00 a.m.) get up earlier (target by 9:00 a.m.)
4. Deal with ‘Urgent’ daily mail immediately & the rest at the weekend
5. Don’t put it down, put it away
6. If I spot a mini task deal with it immediately e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
7. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Ashamed to say I didn’t clean & sort the fridge yesterday 😔 although I did bin half a pot of ood potato salad & composted DSis’s lettuce 🤷♀️ Dinner was chicken fried in butter, boiled new potatoes, corn on the cob & peas. Wudupa.
1500 - 1503 Kitchen recycling, drinks cans, cardboard packaging, cardboard box - recycled

Wednesday is bright & sunny. DH got up early, had a bath & headed off to the dentist - emergency appointment as 2 days after our previous appointment *a tooth fell out* 😔
charlies_tribe, what a lovely weekend 😊 & nice weather for a barbecue 👏 Belated birthday wishes to both DD1 & DS2 🎉 🎂 I am with DD2 - always easier to declutter other people’s bits & pieces 😂although hopefully she will pick up a few tips that will help her in the future 🤞Excellent decluttering of bathroom shelf & well done on getting the items from the bedroom & garden completely out of the house 👏 Your DH could have hazarded a guess at least 😂
Florenceem, sorry to hear that N has chicken pox 😔 (never having had it I would sadly not have let N in 😥) Pleased to hear that M loved her fawn costume & no wonder - both the skirt & hooves are works of art 😊👏 Fingers crossed that the OT work will start soon 🤞 I see you are already making plans for crafting projects once the decluttering is done 😊
GrannyKate, “The tale of the school costume reminded me of many years ago when DD went in to school happily with her home made angel costume. teacher sidled over to me when I picked her up - er Mrs ** the angel costume is really lovely - the other angels wanted one like it - any chance you could make another 3 for us this week. I did of course” I hope you made an angel costume for yourself 😇Excellent decluttering 👏 although sorry to hear that you have to have another colonoscopy 😔 Also sorry to hear that you didn’t manage to avoid the rain 😔
Florenceem, “I remember making 32 pixie hats for DGc's school and 14 aprons and mob caps for DD's class.I still have an angel outfit - will offer it on Freegle” you truly are a crafter 👏😊
Excellent decluttering Fizz2015 👏 How annoying that the person collecting the FREE dolls house messed around 😖 Enjoy your new family members 😉
Will you be the one responsible for looking after the Guinea pigs or is it a family affair (& yes I now have the song in my head although I had to look up the group - Sly & the Family Stone if anyone is interested 😂)
Liverpool_Anne, sorry to hear that getting to the screening appointment resulted in you having an unwanted shower 😔 Good work decluttering & collecting items for the bin even if nothing has quite left the house yet 👏 Hope the unpacked bag in the kitchen won’t annoy you too much until it is gone 🤞
Florenceem, wow you get more done in a couple of hours 👏than I get done in a couple of days 😔Fingers crossed that DGS J gets the painting finished in time for you to at least get some lunch at the SA even if you don’t manage to help out 🤞 Hopefully the OT will pull their finger out & get all the work done in time for MrF’s new discharge date once it is decided when that will be 🤞
~FlowerPot~, your poor wee doggy 🐶 😢 Keeping everything crossed that he will recover quickly & that the insurance covers all the costs associated with his treatment 🤞 Please remember to look after yourself as well as Elmo 🙏
Lovely sentiments Moorviews 😊
DH has just phoned - apparently it was just a filling that fell out ** 😉 so new filling in & DH is now on his way home. I am now off to tackle the fridge 😉 wish me luck 🍀

Well it's turning into a jam packed and pretty tough week. Feeling stressed and overwhelmed with just real life stuff when I have to spend such a silly amount of time dealing with house stuff. I want to be done already and not be spending time on this when I have more important life stuff to do. This is only room 2 in the declutter (although DH should be doing more in the bedroom, but I've done my bedroom stuff) so there is still absolutely tons to get through.I have the day off today and so got DS's bookcase, a teeny tiny bedside table (compromise with DH who vetoed the non-bedside table idea) and some Lego storage to go under the new desk (which I have to order as it's too big for my car). They are all now made and now I have the tackle the explosion in DS's room that looks like a bomb has gone off. More stuff definitely needs to go, although I have temporarily made it worse by moving everything round... Off to organise Lego now.. wish me luck... I may never escape! Not much decluttering to declare - it really needs to get way past 17,000 ASAP with all the junk lying around at the moment.16,889 - paper (reused, then recycled)
16,890-16,918 - DS’s random stuff (binned, recycled)Oh - also, DS did go through all the books and I let him "get rid of" any ones he wanted, including ones in presentation type sets. I need to go through them to determine which I keep for DD in the attic and which to let go of. I'll count them once they're dealt with. The library pile of stuff "to deal with" for me is getting out of control again2025 decluttering: 3,958🌟🥉🌟💐🏅🏅🌟🥈🏅🌟🏅💐💎🌟🏅🏆🌟🏅

Oh no, poor little Elmo!
I haven't been doing much today. I feel very sluggish in this humid weather.
I did text someone to come and clean the house from top to bottom as I meant to hire a cleaner when I first moved here and haven't got around to it yet. I've been over a year since I moved here! She is hopefully coming over next week.2025 GOALS

Poor Elmo. It’s so hard when a beloved pet is in pain. They really do become members of the family.Yay to Guinea pigs. I had one as a child and all my kids had one. They make a lovely pet.Granny Kate, poor gs having to take exams with an ear infection and a heatwave. Mind I think you may have had more bearable weather on the NE coast.Hope your Grandaughter is soon over the chickenpox Florenceem.Weenancy I expect that I am much more frightening than you with people leaving stuff lying around. When we moved to this tiny dolls house a couple of years ago, I kept asking DH to stop leaving his boots wherever he took them off. He gave it lip service and I stopped moving them. He came down stairs , fell over them, head butted the fridge leaving a dent and spent 6 weeks in a leg cast and on crutches. Extreme I know, but needs must. 🤣
Yet again I am in the car on the way back from Nottingham. I just answered the phone at MIL’s to someone talking about a medilink bracelet. I said are you a real person? She said, yes, I am new and reading a script. I am sorry if I sound monogamous. Who knew?
