Floss - OTs think the step into the shower is an issue for Mr F.
fritzie-65 - I have a safety mat in the shower as I find the tray to be slippery without one.
We may have to think about changing to a wet room.
Mr F has sent me a message - slept last night with his feet elevated above his heart - said it was not a comfortable position.
My SA officer isn't able to visit his family/take me to the hospital today but mentioned - possibly tomorrow. However I need to sort out bric a brac for the table top sale and the sale is on Saturday so can't see a visit happening this week.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Husband left for 7 weeks in Africa yesterday. He took 2x23kg + 10kg hand luggage. It hardly makes a dent.....Anyway, every single trip through my home I have my hands full with items that have to be returned to their proper place, or the paper or plastic recycling (all the packaging from the gifts he took for his relatives). We have bought a 2x3m pool, and dds are using it daily. It's a bit more hassle for me, checking they have cleaned it and testing if the water is still safe (and adding stuff (last night: vinegar) if needed), but generally dds are helping properly. It has already paid for itself! Total cost was around €150, the nearest (boring) swimming pool is 20 minutes' drive and costs €7pp (the nice one is 1-hour drive and costs €14pp). Dds and a few friends have played in it every day since we bought it, and I don't have to drive anywhere, and the whining has stopped! This morning I reported a company to the police for dumping old doors and windows on a small vacant lot 5 houses down. The police actually came and started the hunt for the company (I had pictures and a license plate number). On 31 December we found a note on our car window that we could look forward to a fine for not paying for our parking. We were at my parents' for a week, and you have to register your license plate through an app. I genuinely forgot until 45 minutes later, and then we did register. We finally received the fine notice last week and I filed an objection, because we had spent the week there, registering regularly, and asked the tax office to either destroy the fine, or be kind because it was an honest mistake. And they did!! We don't have to pay €69!Are you wombling, too, in '22? € 58,96 = £ 52.09Wombling in Restrictive Times (2021) € 2.138,82 = £ 1,813.15Wombabeluba 2020! € 453,22 = £ 403.842019's wi-wa-wombles € 2.244,20 = £ 1,909.46Wombling to wealth 2018 € 972,97 = £ 879.54Still a womble 2017 #25 € 7.116,68 = £ 6,309.50Wombling Free 2016 #2 € 3.484,31 = £ 3,104.5919

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks to include MMiM - do this before I go to bed
2. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ I have an acronym - I.R.I.S. being Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off
3. Implement a new sleep/wake up regime - start going to bed earlier (target before 2:00 a.m.) get up earlier (target by 9:00 a.m.)
4. Deal with ‘Urgent’ daily mail immediately & the rest at the weekend
5. Don’t put it down, put it away
6. If I spot a mini task deal with it immediately e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
7. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Thursday is another lovely sunny day already 26C at 12:30 ☀️ Recycling wheelie bin has been emptied - that is the 2nd consecutive week that it has been emptied on the correct day 🥳 I had a teeny tiny bit of activity - watered the garden, put the kitchen peelings into the compost bin & have emptied office bin. I see I have fallen way behind on the cheerleading again 😉
1515 Office detritus binned
Floss, a thought provoking post 🤔 Although Florenceem might be like me & not have had chickenpox 😥
QueenJess, sorry to hear that you are feeling so stressed with both RL & the great declutter 😔 Please take at least a few minutes to appreciate just how much decluttering you have already done this year 🙏 You are a working mum with 3 children, not a mistype as I have included your DH 🤣 Sounds like DS’s room is finally coming together 👏 even if it currently looks like a bomb-site 😉 Good luck with the ongoing Lego sort out 🍀
Wednesday2000, sorry to hear that the humid weather is making you feel sluggish 😔 but well done on booking a cleaner for next week 👏
Lovely supportive post vulpix & great cheerleading 😊 “When we moved to this tiny dolls house a couple of years ago, I kept asking DH to stop leaving his boots wherever he took them off. He gave it lip service and I stopped moving them. He came down stairs , fell over them, head butted the fridge leaving a dent and spent 6 weeks in a leg cast and on crutches. Extreme I know, but needs must. 🤣
Yet again I am in the car on the way back from Nottingham. I just answered the phone at MIL’s to someone talking about a medilink bracelet. I said are you a real person? She said, yes, I am new and reading a script. I am sorry if I sound monogamous. Who knew?” A tough lesson for DH but 🤣 & just 3 letters can make your day so much brighter 😊
Florenceem, a bit sad that you couldn’t cuddle N but better safe than sorry 😔 Well done DGS J, one more 🏅 on its way to him 🙂 & so nice that you had the time to help out at SA lunch & get fed 😊 as well as completing your list of tasks 👏 Hope you enjoyed your ice cream 😊
QueenJess, so gratifying to hear that all your planning meant that the Lego sort out & storage was not as difficult to deal with as you feared & is now almost complete 🥳 Re the manuals, I am sure that a solution will present itself 😊 Hopefully seeing your thoughts written down will help you to come up with a plan for the rest of DS’s toys & books 🤞 Sounds like a good plan re the library 👏 Remember to stand firm with DH when he starts asking for help in the garage 😉 A polite but firm NO, to be repeated each & every time he asks for your help 😊
Excellent decluttering D123456789 👏 Good luck with the freezer use up 🍀 You might have to have a few more cooked dinners as you need to have enough room to add more ice cream 😅
Well I have made a start 🙂 & will be back later 👋

MrsSD - I have had chicken pox.
When I went in the office - saw that OT had phoned that number! So I phoned the hospital and spoke to the OT - the work hasn't gone to the technicians yet as I have to give permission. I thought that was done on Monday when the other OT visited. The reason they are saying that Mr F can't use the shower is because I refused a grab bar in there - I explained that Mr F and I were concerned about leaks. OT said that wouldn't happen but I could speak to technician when he came and decide. So it will be about another week as they are so busy.
I am working at decluttering and cleaning in my craft room. I have sorted out some fabric for the charity shop! However not much is leaving my room but it will be tidy. I have carried stuff upstairs to the intended new lounge while I sort the craft room. My plan is to finish the craft room and then work on the last ROD - my craft storage room.
I do need to make a couple of Birthday cards this month.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Hi everyone
Just skim read to catch up.
@Liverpool_Anne - sorry to hear about your friend.
@Floss - I too live in Cheshire and go over that bridge to visit DD1
I had a lovely trip to Eyam, a pretty village, lovely tea shops and so interesting. We walked to the boundary stone where people from other villages left food and collected money - left in vinegar to sterilise it. If anyone wants to read a really good book about a plague village I recommend Year of Wonders - I'm going to buy it for the friend I went with.
I have finally managed to donate my dining table - 3rd time lucky! They wouldn't take the chairs as no fire label but I can take them to the tip myselfDD1 is ploughing through sales on v!nted for me; I've found another book for z1ffit so hope to sort that this weekend. I've been shredding paper and putting it in the recycling. I put my old table in the garage pending collection and had to move a large suitcase to make room. I've just hoovered and wiped away the cobwebs and I'm going to fill it with stuff and take it to the CS to donate including the suitcase.
Love Deni x

Starting to write this post 14:20, timer is on & I will try not to get distracted 😂 Have not been idle whilst away - written 3-day menu plan & shopping list, (DH left for sm at 14:00), added potatoes to soup as a thickening agent (soup now simmering even though outside temperature is now 27C 😥), packed away veg box contents (due to yesterdays fridge tidy I had enough room to put everything away 👏) + dismantled 2 cardboard boxes which are in recycling wheelie bin 🥳
1516 - 1518 Two cardboard boxes, paper packaging - recycled
Brie, seems a shame that you are not allowed to hand out packaged food that has reached its BBD 😔 I can see the sense in not being allowed to hand out ood “Use By” food but BBD 🧐 I agree with your comment that you if you are donating food it really should be something that will get eaten & enjoyed 😊
weenancy, it might be time to crack the whip with your roommates 😉 If they cook & don’t clean up then you should ban them from cooking 😈 After all it only takes a few seconds to wipe up spills & a few seconds more to wipe up splatters 😔 One medal 🏅 coming your way 👏 I did have to smile at your comment about husky dog 😁 but at least she did some useful decluttering by finding the box of teabags 😉 one less item for the shopping list 🥳 I well remember how hair raising it is to drive/ride in L.A. 😰 It was such a relief to get out safely 😮💨 What a great result re the family history find - the young lady must have been so pleased 😃 Going off at a slight tangent ….. we have a TV programme called ‘The Repair Shop’ - people take in family treasures to be repaired by experts. Last night’s episode was called Windrush Special & the stories were so interesting 😊 Especially poignant after the Windrush Scandal when our s….y government tried to send people back including 2nd & 3rd generation family members who had been born in the U.K. - Disgusting is not a strong enough word for our politicians behaviour 😤 😡 Good luck with the rewrite 🍀 I imagine it’s far more pleasurable now that your eyes have been dealt with 😊
SuffolkSue, sorry to hear that you had shingles 😔 My DH was quite lucky when he had his bout of shingles - a year ago now BUT he still gets the odd itching & pain but only in one finger 🤔
Florenceem, hopefully the doctor will give you the shingles jab immediately when you see him re your blood test results 🤞
-taff, excellent work decluttering the garden & getting everything to the Tip 👏 One medal 🏅 on its way 🙂 How exciting … new radiators - a good incentive for a 2nd round of decluttering 😊 Hope the fitters don’t make too much mess & also don’t take too long 🤞Florenceem should definitely eat more ice cream 😊
Wednesday2000, me too 🤣
A natural place to stop as end of a page & DH has arrived home. Everything unpacked & put away including some ice lollies 🥳 About to have a bowl of soup now that the temperature has hit 28C 🥲 Two 23 minute sessions 😉

Well done @QueenJess . You must be very satisfied with that despite your tiredness.
Fingerscrossed for Elmow @~FlowerPot~
Not long now @Florenceem Its stressful in a different way having people home after a long term in hospital.
Well done on the cancellation of the fine @s@Siebrie I get a fine at least once a year from some various car parks or cameras for some minor misdemeanor. So annoying.
Just popping to report a reduction in a couple of frogs. Had lunch with a friend and enjoying the sunshine on the cafge patio looking over the countryside.

The soup was delicious even though the outside temperature hit 28C 🤤 Started doing the puzzles in my magazine but as I have had almost an hour off from cheerleading thought I should come back 😉
GrannyKate, hopefully the antibiotics will kick in by Friday so that DGS1 can concentrate on his last exam 🤞 Expensive set of tyres 😱 That should be ALL DD’s bad luck out of the way for at least 10 years🤞 I sort of feel sorry for the chap/chapess who had to phone your DD 😔 Your decluttering numbers are still going the correct way 👏
bit_by_bit, a very MSE Wednesday 😊 as well as a good decluttering day 👏 I bet you enjoyed the soft play area more than GS3 😂
~FlowerPot~ , so sorry to hear that Elmo has to have surgery 😔 He doesn’t do things by halves then - all 4 metacarpals broken 😥 😓 I echo Brie’s comment “Poor Elmo!!! Poor you!!! Well poorer you once the ops over too!!”
EnergyShifter, hope DS has a good time with his dad in Copenhagen 🤞Excellent decluttering 👏
QueenJess, no wonder you are exhausted 😩 I was expecting you to still be ploughing through Lego & books until at least the weekend 😉 I should have known better 😊 - once you get the bit between your teeth there is no stopping you 👏🥳 So very pleased that having the bookshelves nearer DS’s bed has already reaped dividends 😊 Reading in bed, whatever next 👏 😉 Hope that every item you have put on Buy Nothing is picked up & gone by the weekend 🤞
GrannyKate, well done on decluttering even more items at the Tip 👏
1.5 x 23 minute sessions of cheerleading done, so will have a short break 🙂 DH is pottering in the garage, DSis popped down for an ice cream & is now back in her room & I just remembered that I am three quarters of the way to my decluttering target so am awarding myself a Gold Star ⭐️ 🥳

No time today as I've been out all day and am out this evening as well. I did manage to declutter some stuff early this morning and before I went to bed last night though for things I thought of whilst doing other stuff. I've also selected people for Buy Nothing, so let's hope most pick up tomorrow!Back to the grindstone tomorrow. Tons to do, DH is going awol with a friend (so not helping), whilst I have full time work, the desk arriving for DS, usual washing/changing beds and continuation of sorting out the house. Hoping to finish DS's room by the end of the week and also do a lot of tidying/clearing from the library so I can start the next room next week.Digital:
