My husband took the donation bag to the charity shop today. My trainers and two tops. Rubbish and recycling out today too.16

Slow start today. I did get in loft (the end I rarely go in) and very little there. I need to tackle some pictures, box with my wedding dress etc, some empty boxes etc. Some small metal racks up there contain organised and neatly labelled small boxes of papers I decided to keep a bit longer. Late DH's stuff, MIL etc. I know exactly what is in there. Feel I should first revisit the 'too hard to decide' boxes I already have in wardrobe. I need to do something with stamp collections as well which take up whole shelf in top of wardrobe. Jobs for another day. I did catch up on surveys and competitions this morning. £14 downloaded. Every little helps. Letter from a certain bank beginning N to say they are giving me £100 in June.

Tested positive.
Found a drawer that I didn't realise - in the centre of a desk - there are 2 large desks in the office.
Had a chat with DGD - she will be home on Sunday from uni.
Two of my DDs are off school not well - end of term worn outitis - is that a word as it describes what ails them - one teaches and one is a head teacher.
Went to put stuff in my blue recycling bin - one of yesterday's Freeglers who collected - put the empty box in my bin - we are not allowed cardboard in that bin. As the garage is tidy - I could put my hand on the picker upper from Mil's flat to rescue said box from the bottom of the bin. That Freegler gets a black mark from me.

@Florenceem wow... I love before and after photos like that. If there was a thread of just those I would subscribeI've been absent a bit, but mainly for good reasons. I continue in my general aim to improve my quality of life (part of which is decluttering) and have been concentrating slightly more on looking after myself (which feels odd). The tidying needs to start again - actually the house isn't too awful, but I need to get it to the next level of tidy rather than its current state of being a bit messy. Whilst I did a long day at work yesterday (and met a friend for dinner), DS went through all the cars we had (including a load I picked up through Buy Nothing) and made a huge pile of ones he definitely doesn't want. Those are now on Buy Nothing.I also realised that I dislike putting on nail varnish as the fumes make me feel ill. When I looked it up, apparently there are lots of very bad things in nail varnish, so it wasn't a surprise. I found a place that sells eco friendly nail varnish without the key horrible chemicals and I have bought myself a single colour to try. If I like it I will restrict myself to 2 colours or 3 at a push until they are used up. I put all my old colours etc on Buy Nothing, so currently I am the proud owner of 1 single colour!Otherwise, I need to continue the tidying which needs to extend into the million and one things I need to get done in the garden. I also need to use up food in the kitchen from overbuying. I am slowly stopping the overbuying, but have lots of cupboard and freezer stuff to get through. I should also get back to my to do/frog list and see what is left at some point, but there has definitely been some progress this year. Things are all moving in the right direction at least.Digital:

I have serious garden envy, @vulpix. It is beautiful, full credit to you. I replan my garden most weekends, but very little comes of it, as I find the hard landscaping bit impossible to overcome. Like your’s, my DH has no interest whatsoever. Mind you, with 1.5 allotments as well, I don’t have a lot of spare time to rejig the garden too! I can still dram, though…@florenceem, that garage decluttering is awesome. Definitely a pat or 10 to yourself on the back, maybe when you are feeling better.
Decluttering has mainly been of the weed variety, from the allotment. I have the luxury of a day off work today, so I have been there since 8.30am, a record for me. It is finally looking more like an allotment and less like a nettle / dock / dandelion jungle.I did haul my summer clothes, such as they are, down from the loft at the weekend. Realistically, I am not going to fit in 2 pairs of trousers, so they are straight into the cs bag. I have lost count of many times I have put them back in the cupboard for Justin. DH is passing through town on friday, so I have a cunning plan to get the cs bag gone once and for all.18 -
I have been running through some stuff in the house and filled my car boot of stuff for the cs. Going to keep on working.on the house tonight when dcs are in bed and aim to fill the car boot again tomorrow. Got a tip trip booked for Friday.2024 decluttering Campaign

Yes - Mr F definitely has a thing about envelopes. I found a drawer that only contained envelopes - counted them as I threw in recycling bag - I had to check they were empty - + 630!
Seven drawers in the office - I am on no 5.
Mr F has been outside to get some fresh air today.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Lovely hugely garden proud neighbours (OCD!!) were hanging over the 7 foot fence trying to prune a large shrub and catch the pruned bits so as to not drop in our mess of a garden. Had a nice chat about the foxes which we agree are messy but cute. And asked if they wouldn't mind trimming the ivy that appears (to me at least) to be rooted on their side. They agree it's a thug and so will do their best. They are about the only people I know who bbq as much as I like to so we get on well.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. Decluttered dd1 for a few nights but none of her stuff
she will be back for a few days and then on holiday and in a month back to take her stuff to new flat. Carpet going down on Friday after Feb disaster but not sure where few things will go while they do it as dd1 taken over. But once done will have that room back and can move office back although home PC broken.
Posted 1 item sold and ££££ getting car serviced only to find all brake discs and pads need replacing. It's a fiat and couldn't believe cost quoted so rang a main dealer and found they charge more for parts than total quoted- apparently Italian car parts are expensive . The comment was that is like having a ferrari 🤣 not sure any of us see it that way.
Working long hours to catch up and doing interview for more staff next week so hoping autumn will be easier but do want to get out in the sun!!17 -
Also ordered new screen for my phone. Hoping run of breaking things/ repairs needed coming to end. Agents wanted to keep £200 of dd1 deposit for small paint spill in one kitchen cupboard and got them down to £50. If I'd known was there would have sorted before she left.i remain optimistic that my decluttering time Will come later this year 😀
