I’ve only just caught up with the week’s posts. I’ve not achieved any decluttering this week. What a good job you tested @Florenceem. You are so right, that is a blow on top of everything else you are coping with. Please take care of yourself now as an absolute priority. My condolences to you @Siebrie.@Mrs_Salad_Dodger - stunning transformation of your patio, well done!16

@Florenceem please let MrF's ward know you've tested positive (tbh if you'd said you had been poorly that way I would have said "don't visit" - NHS guidance is 48 hours clear of d/v illness before visiting)2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks to include MMiM - do this before I go to bed
2. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ I have an acronym - I.R.I.S. being Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off
3. Implement a new sleep/wake up regime - start going to bed earlier (target before 2:00 a.m.) get up earlier (target by 9:00 a.m.)
4. Deal with ‘Urgent’ daily mail immediately & the rest at the weekend
5. Don’t put it down, put it away
6. If I spot a mini task deal with it immediately e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
7. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
I was going to come back straightaway but DH decided that we should continue with “Project Patio” 😉especially as the sun came out (& has stayed out 🥳) We swept the area again, then used the specialist concrete powder (like sand) - brushed it into all the holes/cracks in the prepared area. Sweeping the excess away from the slabs - left for a couple of hours to settle & then DH watered it in. We will have another look tomorrow & may add more if needed. Then did a bit of gardening - trimmed one large bush, transplanted my rosemary plant to a deep plant pot & did some weeding. We also came up with a plan of action for tomorrow 🙂
Excellent work decluttering clothing Dfw38 👏 & good luck with the sales 🍀 Please don’t injure yourself doing too much to get get things done before your visitors arrive 🙏 Remember they are coming to see you & enjoy your company NOT as building inspectors 😉
Florenceem, please, please take care whilst decluttering MrF’s office 🙏 No more random gravity tests please 🙏
GrannyKate, great suggestion for Florenceem to take a couple of days off from constant decluttering 😊 You forgot to leave a small patch as a contrast 😂 By the way I like your 2 planters 🙂 Fingers crossed that the dishwasher was repaired today 🤞 Excellent decluttering 👏 Please take care moving the large terracotta pot 🙏
Welcome aboard the EDT allie23 👋 Lovely to see a new face joining us on the “Great Decluttering Adventure” My suggestion would be to start in your bedroom - creating a haven that you can escape to at the end of each day 🤔 However, the main thing is that both you & OH make a start however small 😉 If you can remember, each time you tackle an area/drawer/cupboard please take before & after photos - you will then have a record of all your successes 😊 Good luck 🍀
Well I have made a start on catching up but as time is getting on I will post, make dinner & come back later 😉

Well, that’s another week decluttered! Not much else done though, it’s been a busy week meeting with friends and doing laundry to take advantage of the fine weather.Condolences to @Siebrie and family.Do rest properly while you get over COVID, @Florenceem it can leave one very tired.Lovely patio, @Mrs_Salad_Dodger well done you and Mr SD cleaning it.This week’s pitiful declutteration:
- old, patched, and broken handled Tesco bag-for-life binned (no idea where nearest branch is)
- lint from corners of 4 pillowcases picked out when ironing
- Birthday card and books dispatched to friend (postage ☹️), decluttering/reusing two pieces of packaging at the same time
- another Jiffy bag reused/recycled
- 200 emails deleted
My very old but useful car may need to be decluttered sooner than planned as the foam padding of the driver’s seat is breaking down and the smell is horrendous!“Tomorrow is another day for decluttering.”Decluttering 2023 🏅🏅🏅🏅⭐️⭐️

I forgot to mention that I went to the P.O. as I thought I needed a large letter stamp to post DB’s birthday card to Germany. Guess what the card wasn’t as large as I thought 😅 Oh well, at least it got me out of the house 😉 Dinner was sausages, mash, baked beans & chopped tomatoes. Wudupa.

Florenceem, what a lovely SA officer taking white goods to the Tip 😊 Wow, that is a lot of shredding 🤩 Excellent work Florenceem 👏
Nice to see you Pennypincin 👋 Sorry to hear that you are struggling with your decluttering 😔 but very well done on talking to your friend & helping her to start her decluttering journey 👏
Florenceem, so sorry to hear that you were struggling with a bad back on Thursday 😔 Good luck sorting out MrF’s post, hopefully it is not as bad as you fear 🤞Sending lots of positive vibes that your chat with the ward sister is successful & that MrF can stay in hospital until he is physically capable of coming home & being safe 🙂
Excellent work sorting out the cupboard under the stairs Dfw38 👏 What a lovely planter and even more so now that is painted in forget-me-not blue 😅 Excellent decluttering 👏
charlies_tribe, sorry to hear that old dog had another stroke 😔 Hopefully the new medication will prevent further strokes 🤞 I think you are being way too hard on yourself ‘wagging finger emoji’ - you have done a lot of work cleaning i.e. decluttering dust & dirt 👏
Brie, lovely photo - my vote is the Artful Dodger 😅
Floss, I definitely think Artful Dodger 😉
Excellent work with your neutral items, Happy_Kitties 👏 + good decluttering 👏
GrannyKate, great suggestions for the start of allie23’s decluttering journey 😊 Excellent decluttering 👏 Chester Cat was obviously a pioneer, paving the way for Fagin’s Foxes 😂
-taff, that is lovely advice for Florenceem 😊
TC77, a busy few days ahead moving DD1’s stuff into your home 😥 Can you get paper bank statements to check re the flat insurance?
Florenceem, fingers crossed that the bags of shredding remained intact & what you saw was just a stray bit that escaped from the top of the bag 🤞
Happy_Kitties, surely not tat more like treasures 😉
I have just paid the milkman & seen the time so am off to bed 😉

Been spending the last few days getting ready for our monthly book sale. Finally through the book sale today. Made $403 even though we gave away the children's books! Next month due to a mix-up on the part of the head librarian who scheduled a day for the library to be closed our regular day for a special event for the staff, we will be having our June sale on Saturday. Haven't been able to do a Saturday sale since before the pandemic started (Dec 2019) except for one two-day sale inside because of rain.
Also managed to work on some frogs - had blood test, scheduled by skin doctor appointment, and saw the eye doctor (cataract surgery in less than two weeks, one eye than the next week the other eye). In between I am giving a speech so finishing up the PowerPoint for that.
Did get a bag of DVDs decluttered to take to the book sale. Added some mysteries as well.
Had to wash my bedding thanks to the cat throwing up on it. At least the duvet is now clean. Cats and the dog are now shedding all over. Manage to fit in sweeping the living room and kitchen floors just to clean up the fur. I have started making a large chart showing what 3 of us need to do each day so we can keep on top of everything. The other 2 operate on their own schedules.
Roommate G decided he was going to get married in 5 days to the person he has been calling and texting, but never met, but he called it off. He was expecting her to come and stay here for the 5 days. I don't where we would have put her. No room for anyone else here.
Have been clearing out food we won't eat or have too much of - have one bag ready to go. We have some friends who may need it so I will check with them first. Then will take the rest to the Salvation Army locally that has a food bank. That should help keep me busy in between 4 classes, 12 hours a week at the Family History Centers, working on the Parish records I have been indexing, getting my talk ready for the first Saturday in June, and getting more stuff ready for the next book sale. If I get any other decluttering done I will be surprised though I have killed off most of the weeds in the front and backyard by pouring vinegar on them. Just need to stuff them in the yard waste trash bin now. And if I don't forget, water my geraniums and herbs plus three trees and an ancient jade plant which are the only things currently in the yards. Oh, and remember to play with the dog and put water in the pool, do the agenda for the Friends meeting and run the meeting next Monday, and whatever else comes up. Which is why I really need the large chart to keep me going in the right direction at least most of the time.
Hoping the best for everyone to accomplish what they need to also.

Floss - I just thought that I had an upset tummy - may be stress or something I had eaten.
I phoned Mr F who is now convinced that he gave me Covid!
The chap in the next bed to Mr F is constantly coughing so may be from him.
Mr F was in bed have his obs done when I arrived yesterday - he had been unresponsive and pale in the morning so in bed all day being monitored.
I spoke to the Sister - ward manager who said that she thinks it was Mr F's mental health that was the mornings cause. She confirmed that he is on the pathway for a rehab bed - not to come home as he is.
I only tested as I felt so poorly. I rang my SA officer to ask for a test - went round and stayed outside - he threw tests out to me - saying unclean - so funny! I hope that I haven't infected my DD who brought me home in the car - she is coming up to a half term holiday and wants to be well to enjoy it.
Had to phone DDil to say that I can't babysit today. I was looking forward to spending time with the DGC.
Went to bed at 6.30 - no dinner and got up after 12 hours - been in the office and cleared a shelf this morning - I can't do nothing - that is not me.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Florenceem, I have to agree with Floss. You have been doing so much, on top of worrying about Mr F, please try to slow down a little and let yourself rest15
