DD is better enough to be back at nursery today although isn't 100% herself. My brain is tired and full of real life stuff happening, so am trying to chill out a bit and just declutter/tidy as I can. I have noticed though that a tidier house makes me feel much less stressed, so I will continue to prioritise the tidying and try to build it into my day so hopefully I don't even realise I'm doing it. Still a way to go, but it is much better.A bit of decluttering to report, then I need to do 30 mins of work and then will be giving my brain a rest and will watch something suitably easy on TV before going early to bed.Digital:
13,668-13,749 - emails permanently deleted
13,750-13,759 - text conversations deleted
Physical:
13,760 - bathroom supplies used up
13,761 - packaging (reused)
13,762-13,763 - gift bag/wrapping (used)
13,764 - kids toys (Buy Nothing)Edit: One thing I started was setting up a couple of filters in my email account. I've already unsubscribed to everything I don't want., but I still seem to get too much stuff that makes me overwhelmed. I get some unexciting confirmations of payments (e.g. monthly bills) which I don't need to see every time. To save myself time and stress, I set up some filters which send them straight to the trash bin. They are still there if I need them, but I don't have to deal with them. I'm also pondering an auto delete on the trash folder after X amount of time as well. I am always in the camp of why do something manually if I can automate it (or not do it at all!).2025 decluttering: 3,958🌟🥉🌟💐🏅🏅🌟🥈🏅🌟🏅💐💎🌟🏅🏆🌟🏅

Loving the Fagin fox🦊
kitchen finally spring cleaned. It looks no different but it feels different to me. Only a virtually empty silver spray from Christmas crafts past binned. And an old earthenware jam pot for the chazzer. Another two large handbags to go. That’s five in recent weeks. A massive breakthrough for me. Whatever next?We had a txt from the builder to say he would see us soon. That could mean anything in builder speak. The pantry of doom is next on the agenda. The pantry will be removed so a home needs to be found for everything in there. Christmas decorations, tins of paint, hoover, goodness knows what else. Tetris in the insulated shed I think. Now the house is clean I need to have a cleaning routine. Presently I would rather go out.Lots going on here on the thread which is great. It is a marathon not a sprint. I must have been discarding stuff for about 10 years. I am just about happy with the amount of belongings we have.New total 438

Morning, last night I started clearing out some of the boxes of clothes that have accumulated (old clothes, just not put back where they should be....) one box run through and 4 items on vint*d and a bag to go to the cs today.
Been on 2 school trips this week so am trying to make up for 'time off' but it feels impossible at the moment. I have some relatives visiting on the 1st so need to make a major improvement by then. Going to crack on with the decluttering and get rid of what I can over the next 12 days and then spend a couple of days cleaning... ..2024 decluttering Campaign

I have 2 Freeglers coming to collect items today.
DGS J will come round later to help me get the bin and recycling out in the drive.
I have emptied shelf no 3 of the wardrobe in the office - think I had better get stuff off the floor and on the shelf while sorting - already fallen over in there today.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Look after yourself @Florenceem - take a few days off - marvellous progress with office. Mine needs attention. T'internet down last night so helped DS2 with patio - great minds think alike Mrs SD. I forgot a before picture but have an after one and a picture from yesterday's woodland walk. One more day until they, hopefully, fix dishwasher. It smells a bit so I threw a kettle of hot water round it yesterday. I am going to start with DGD4's bedroom before I get distracted. I mght have breakfast and get dressed first.
667 Haircut
668 T shirt I had on yesterday binned. Only about a year old but when I pulled front down at waist my fingers went straight through it
669 Assisted (watched) DS2 clean patio - did fetching carrying and moving
670 Pulled weeds from patio - still a few stubborn ones in gaps which I will tackle this morning
671 Collected up and/or emptied random pots of bulbs - left to die back behind cabin.
672 Returned calls from someone who had been ringing about history group whilst phone not working
673 Rounded up paper from everywhere for today's collection
674 DS2 took electric waste and cables to scrap - only £13 but every little helps
675 Managed to move badly broken large terracotta pot round back (frost got it) emptied contents and will break pot remains up to use in bottom of other pots. There is another larger one which needs moving as well. Will see if I can lift it into wheelbarrow.

Hi folks
Can I please join you? Having just painted several rooms in the house and haivng to empty them out beforehand I realise just how much stuff needs decluttered. OH has promised to do some as well so I have high hopes as he has never done any before. I hardly know where to start tbh.15 -
My SA officer came this morning and took the fridge and freezer to the tip.
DGS J has just been here with his Granddad - who is taking my garden waste to the tip.
J put my recycling out for me - lots of huge cardboard boxes + blue bin + 4 x red bags full of card/paper and 23 bags of shredding. I have some space in the garage now.
