Morning, you don't have to answer florenceem but I was curious if mr f is interested in all the work you have been doing at home. I'm not sure if you've said if you are discussing it with him or not. I'm curious in the way we've discussed before about the tv programmes that get people involved with the cleaning/clearing process and those that the owners go away, others do the work then the person returns to a tidy cleared house.
In a lot of ways seeing stuff puts up barriers to it leaving whereas if its gone I know I would be hard pressed to know what was in drawers or boxes. Interesting, but as I say, no obligations to respond to personal questions
Its a pondering sorta morning at our cottage this morninghave great day everyone

daisy_1571 - Mr F knows that I have been sorting in the garage - he asked if I had got rid of all the bags - I do think he has a thing - like his Mother of collecting bags and boxes. I haven't told him about all that has gone - I think he won't remember what there was - I have got rid of stuff in the past and he didn't notice.
Re the office - I am not telling him about sorting it - think it would stress him too much. I have just been going through a pile of paperwork on his desk - kept all the stuff that is important - there were unopened letters - which show that he wasn't coping before his mental breakdown.
I am hoping that he is happier today - he didn't ring me as I asked him to at 8 pm last night - whole reason I organised a phone for him yesterday was that we could speak to each other.
I did ask him yesterday if he was using the hospital as an escape from real life. He mumbled about having no business now - it has been his life since he decided on that career at 18 - he is 71 now.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Thanks florenceem, I'm absolutely sure that it will be a relief when he comes home that things are in order and he doesn't 'have' to do things. I suppose what you both will be thinking about is what you both 'want' to do now. Working such a long employment has possibly been wonderful and fulfilling however it seems as though he will miss the structure and at the momentcant envisagehis new life. Thats a poignant question you asked him and you maybe got a true reflection of his feeling at that moment. I hope in time he will begin to see that there is so much more to life and this is his stage to turn his attention to them. Even if its just sitting watching TV or reading a book - its not wrong to do something simply for the pleasure of it. Combining that with the good works of the sa i hope he will find new enjoyments in life once he's out hospital and beginning to build up his strength.
Perhaps some things will be joint pursuits, investigating your local area perhaps, enjoying a peaceful cuppa in the garden on a sunny afternoon, going to a matinee at the theatre or pictures? Things he maybe didn't have time to do before, but I hope you both do a few things separately to ensure plenty to talk about when you are together again. Hopefully lots to look forward to ?
Hugs for you both xxxxxx22: 3🏅 4⭐ 23: 5🏅 6 ⭐ 24 1🏅 2⭐ 25 🏅 🥈⭐ Never save something for a special occasion. Every day is a special occasion. Florenceem, I wonder if MrF is avoiding retirement as he feels he would be put on the scrap heap or worthless without his profession? I'm sure there are SA colleagues who have retired from their career but still have worthy work that they do, maybe one or two of them could visit to talk to him?2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

I popped to SA this morning and had a cuppa and a chat about Mr F. The officer has lots of things that he wants Mr F to become involved in now he will not be working - mentioned - War Cry selling, going round shops and asking about having a collection box there - then the collecting of boxes etc + Street Pastor - all things that he would be great at doing. I am hoping when the anti depressants get in his system that his mood will lift.
Working at sorting out the office is like wading through treacle - I feel like I have done this before - I helped to declutter his Mother's flat to make it suitable for wheelchair living. Mil was a great hoarder of everything and Mr F is definitely - his Mother's Son.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks to include MMiM - do this before I go to bed
2. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ I have an acronym - I.R.I.S. being Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off -
3. Implement a new sleep/wake up regime - start going to bed earlier (target before 2:00 a.m.) get up earlier (target by 9:00 a.m.)
4. Deal with ‘Urgent’ daily mail immediately & the rest at the weekend
5. Don’t put it down, put it away
6. If I spot a mini task deal with it immediately e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
7. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Tuesday is another bright sunny day 🙂 I went out & admired the front path whilst my cup of tea was brewing 😉 Now I will attempt to catch up a little on the cheerleading but have set a timer for 23 minutes & will try to concentrate properly 🤞
That was a very productive weekend Deni_debt-free_dreamer 👏 Well done on saving money by doing Tip runs in the car rather than hiring a skip 🥳 & what a lovely friend 😊 Good luck clearing your work by Friday 🍀 & I hope you have a wonderful holiday 😊
Floss, hope you find bras that are both comfortable & not too expensive 🤞
Excellent work decluttering frogs foxandflowers 👏 & well done on catching up with your laundry 🥳Reminds me I really do need to do my ironing 😉
Great decluttering roundtuit 👏 Hope you had a lovely meet up with L 😊
Lovely to see you Fayolle 👋 The EDT is still speeding along, we are now 2/3rds of the way October when comparing to last year 🤩 Very pleased to hear that you have been visiting the TLC Carriage 😊& pleased to note that the ‘Magic Door’ system is working & people are spending as much time as they need rather than just popping in 😉 Well done to your DD for bringing her decluttering home for you to count in your numbers 😉 just the encouragement you needed 😊 Good luck with your May decluttering 🍀 Hopefully the weather is starting to be more conducive to allotment sessions 🤞 Lists are our friends & I must remember to mark the front path clearance as DONE ✅ 😉
2Scratters, perhaps GD could be prevailed upon to mow the lawn - or maybe that is a step too far 🤣Excellent work moving the various bits & pieces out of your house & to their final destinations 👏
Excellent decluttering GrannyKate & well done on getting so many jobs done Before they turned into frogs 👏
Well done on being so organised with your decluttering Wednesday2000 👏 Hopefully the downstairs sweep was as successful as upstairs 🤞
I have reached a perfect place to stop - my post on p439 & the timer has just gone off for 2x23 minute sessions 😉 DH’s final bolts have arrived so he is tidying up the work done on the motorbike top-box 🙂
I am going to deal with todays post then come back to cheerleading 🙂

Greetings declutterati. The funeral yesterday was amazing. A truly inspiring man. He created a marching band in the 1970’s which included 150 teenagers from a council estate in Nottingham, eventually playing down The Mall as part of the queen’s silver jubilee celebrations. So many band members were at the funeral. What a testament to the impact he had on so many people.Off to the chazzer imminently are

@Siebrie my condolences. I hope events continue to unfold smoothly for you.
Meanwhile, back at the ranch, I'm restoring some sort of order in some areas at what feels like a glacial pace. Numbers may seem high but that's over several days.
Currently hyping myself up to go clothes shopping. I think I've bought 3 band t-shirts, a pair of work trousers, a 5 pack of socks and a 5 pack of knickers since 2020 which is frugal but I think I've forgotten how to dress up.
1950-1971: 19GB data and 150 emails deleted.
1972-2003: items to recycling
2004-2071: items to bin (including herbs and stock cubes, shows how little batch cooking I've done lately)
2072-2076: 3 binbags and a bag each of paper and mixed materials to recycling.
Deferred decisions:
286: trainers to bin
287: photo album with a bad attack of damp to bin (no photos in it)
288-291: 4 more books to charity shop bag.

All the things that MrF could do for the SA will keep him very busy which I suspect is what he needs. Been to see Mr F - a little brighter mood today but was complaining about the physios.
The hospital Chaplain turned up while I was there - she is coming back in the morning to see him.
Mr F said that he phoned me last night but I was engaged - I knew he hadn't - when I looked at his phone - he had rung his own number!
Mr F was weighed while I was there - he has been telling me the wrong numbers - they use KGs which I convert - he is 14 stone 3 - nurse said Drs only worry when patients lose weight.
Friend who drives me there - popped in to see him - he had a breakdown in the past so can sympathise with Mr F.
I am in pain with my back - must have pulled a muscle while working in the office - all I need.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45
