2023 DECLUTTERING CAMPAIGN Mrs SD

@daisy_1571 - I also read the missing cutlery and MRI scan and put them together. Had visions of @TC77 explaining herself to the radiographer. More seriously hope results are good. I need to get my blood tests repeated although initially GP said 3 months but then 6 months next time I saw her. Think I will wait and see if they send for me. Remembered I haven't been to 'Meadowhell' to collect my glass figure - forgot all about it. DS2 disappeared all day and I had long chat with DD before setting off on a list of errands. A couple of items came in including one of those hanging racks for shirts, ironing etc - in my case it was to stand in greenhouse and hang pots of tomatoes on. Less expensive than some posh greenhouse solutions.
645 Very holey tea towel binned - no idea why I kept washing it when I have loads
646 Garden tidied a bit more
647 Small plants potted on, seeds planted etc
648 Potted a few peppers, tomato and cucumber I got from shop today
649 Marigolds planted out in empty planter
650-651 Two bags to CS shop
652-653 Two broken plastic troughs to tip
654 Random dustbin lid to tip
655 Small garden table badly rusted and broken to tip
656 Small bedroom bed stripped and washed ready for DGD4 on Thursday.
657 Too large joggers to CS bag
658 Got card for great niece in US who got her MD yesterday in West Virginia
I also bought some printer paper and envelopes (run out of larger ones after about 20 years of using up supplies). Got a small packet of A4 and A5. There are ants everywhere - I just try to keep them out of the house. I have meetings Tuesday and Thursday this week and a woodland walk and haircut on Wednesday so tomorrow probably needs to be a housework day. Dishwasher repair Friday - fingers crossed. I just cooked myself some broccoli, new potatoes and gammon which was very nice.

Evening All, another busy weekend. Attended a local fete yesterday, bought some famous five books for Dd and we read them with her. Followed by attending a friends b'day party at a trampline place.
Practise Hike happened today and did 11,000 steps with OH. Might see if we can get to do Pen y fan one evening this week.
More family health issues, sister had 3 blood transfusions on Friday and awaiting a bone marrow biopsy. Stepdad fell after the pub and has fractured a vertebrae in his neck. Neck brace for 6 weeks with no driving or bending and must follow advice. Risks are too great for life changing injuries if he doesn't.
With all that only house chores decluttered and the laundry. I am keeping lists of what I am achieving each day to refocus my mind into a positive frame rather than what I haven't done.

More tidying done and things found to leave the house whilst tidying up/doing everyday activities. I’m trying to always think of something should go every time I open a cupboard/drawer etc so hopefully it becomes second nature. Currently I just feel obsessed when I keep asking people if they still want stuff, but it’s necessary with kids!

Thank you @vulpix, @florenceem, @retiredinfrance and @Mrs_Salad_Dodger. I completely forgot all about the medal until it arrived 🤣. I think a maximum of an hour a day wearing it though as it is heavier than I thought!
Will try to remain upbeat about the progress so far @Mrs_Salad_Dodger. Feels like I am shovelling snow against a blizzard at the moment though 😔. Dh and I made progress in our room of doom yesterday, we can actually see floor 😲. Did another tip run today (they'll be getting a restraining order against me soon at this rate 🤣)
I have decided that when the time comes and my dad's estate is sorted, I will put that money towards buying a bigger house. Have to be realistic that our house will not accommodate 5 of us when the dcs are in the teenage and adult years (they could still be living with us as adults if the property market is still nuts and the renting situation doesn't improve.) Our fixed rate finishes in 2 years and that would work out a brilliant time to consider moving as eldest dd will be thinking of secondary schools. We are planning to stay in the area, so hopefully there would be no need to change schools. So, I am going to declutter with this is mind: Do I really want to move this stuff? Is it going to be used in the next 2 years? Would I use it in my my next house? Hopefully this will help with decision making.

@Florenceem, can't wait to see the garden all finished! Love Mr SDs creations @Mrs_Salad_Dodger, very talented!
I went for my first run this morning. A 2 mile one and felt a lot better for it. I have also told dh I have entered the ballot for next year's marathon. The running is a great stress reliever and I predict a year of chaos from siblings 😔. I have spent the evening crafting. Made 2nd dd a fabric wrapped wreath (princesses naturally 😁) for the bedroom. Am in the process of making eldest dd one too (ET, she loves all things space). Was nice to have something different to do. Unfortunately it looks like we are going to have to separate the bunk beds as eldest dd is being silly at bed time and we have had near misses of accidents most nights this week. Tonight she was running and hanging off the long side. A job for tomorrow. Unfortunately it will leave only a small amount of room for playing. Have also completed 3rd 🐸- linen cupboard woodwork painted and completed 3 MMiM - decluttering and organising the 3 shelves within.

Mrs SD, there is definitely an answer for the magazine hoarding and that's don't bother passing them on, just put them in the recycling staightaway. If she wants to read one, she can get one out...I'm glad you managed EV finallyAnd catching up has reminded me that stuff shifting doesnt do any good, it's actually getting things out of the house that makes it look less crowded so I offered some blankets and towels to someone asking for some for her rabbits, and they have now gone...Unfortunately I recluttered my pots by visiting a plant sale and buying more plants. In my defence I have bare earth which is a real no no so quite a few British natives were purchased. Next time though, I'm just going to dig some up from a verge somewhere...Floss, hope you're not in too much pain, you can have the VAT taken off the purchase price if it's mastectomy bras you're getting...To be honest though, it's what suits really. I found that some sturdy sports bras were better than a real bra because of what surgery I had and where the scar is. And there was one recommended by one of the breast cancer sites which has adjustable everything, straps, width etc, but they were about thirty quid.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi16

Hi, everyone with ant problems - I pour boiling water down the holes, can add used coffee grounds to it also, to get rid of the ants. Inside I use cinnamon because it is powder and also smells better than some options. Cinnamon also helps get rid of silverfish that like to invade bookshelves. I sprinkle it where the have come in before.
Managed to clear 557 items from my email this morning. Did some of my school work and spent several hours on the family history project. I have now added 8800 names to the disk, all people who are either the people from the village or related to those who lived there. Almost to the end of adding records - just need to be sure I have connected the earlier generations as some of them are brothers and sisters who were born before the parish records start. I do have access to the earlier parish they were from, so working on that too. I have actually been to visit both parishes back in 2005 - took my parents and a friend. My mother's great-grandfather was born there. We met many relatives there.

Morning all - sorry to hear of numerous family health issues.
Washing machine is on.
I forgot to take my stomach lining tablet when the alarm went off so now have to wait another 20 minutes before breakfast and a needed cup of tea.
I need to pop to SA this morning to get some more clear bags for all the shredding in the office.
When I can use my bus pass - 9.30 here - will pop to Mr T - taking batteries for their bin. Also taking the old bags for life that I found in the garage - I will give the new ones to either the food bank or the community shop - whoever needs them.
While at Mr T - I plan to get my old phone fixed up as payg for Mr F. He doesn't like or do well with mobiles but at least we will be in contact on days when I don't visit.
I will pop in the Rang. to get another mat for the garage - put the one I bought down and pleased with it but need another one.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Morning everyone
Nice to hear from @Floss, hope you are recovering well and taking as much rest as you need.
I think we'd all like to borrow @Florenceem 's J!
I've had a really productive weekend! Not sure what happened but I was a whirlwind of activity! I got up to date with my self employment and PT jobs, booked travel insurance, ordered some (hopefully) comfy walking boots, cleaned the grouting in the bathroom, put a roasted root veg & lentil curried casserole in the slow cooker, washed and line dried all the bedding, printed out all the tickets for my holiday, cancelled the milk & ............... did loads of decluttering!!
I decided not to get a skip for the dismantled shed but to take it to the tip. On Saturday I filled up my car and did a trip. On Sunday my lovely friend offered to come round and help by also taking a car load - so after 3 car loads it has almost gone. Will need one more trip but waiting for another friend to cut up the 2 roof panels as they are too big for my car. While going to the tip I also took all the rubbish from inside the shed that I don't want/can't recycle as well as an old CD player that no longer works. I also sorted another carrier bag of paperwork from my bedroom - most was recycled or shredded and a few things kept as they relate to my PT job.
This week I have loads of paid work to do before i finish for my holiday on Friday. I've been stressing about getting through it but now I feel much calmer and organised.
Today is my only meeting free day so I'm going into the office soon (will put more paper in the recycling while I'm there). I've made lunch to take with me as I want to declutter the fridge contents this week.
Hugs to anyone who wants one
