Hello all
Can I please rejoin?
So far I have already
Decluttered the bathroom
Decluttered the back porch
Cleaned and decluttered the living room
Cleaned and decluttered the kitchen and got rid of old fridge freezer to replace it with a new smaller fridge
Decluttered the medicine cabinet
Decluttered bedroom and gave it a good clean. Need to sort clothes and declutter or minimise them.
Cleared out my sons room today and threw out a black bag of wrappers and another of bottles!
Have been working on the garden (front and back) for the last few weeks and finally getting there it seems with both to make them useable for the nicer weather.
Just daughters room to do and I will have given every room a declutter - except dining room end of the kitchen which is currently husbands bike and tool storage!
Also need to go through my craft desk and declutter and despite getting rid of lots of black bags of junk I still feel like I could be more ruthless and get rid of more stuff
Time to find me again17 -
Remembering to take a book with me while I wait for other people to shop or see the doctor has paid off - actually read two books this week, 1 a mystery book and the other is a new book by the author of the Swedish Death Cleansing book. I enjoyed it a lot as she has a lot of tips in it: The Swedish Art of Aging Exuberantly by Margareta Magnusson. It was a lot of fun to read. So taking everyone shopping separately this week had a good result (as did three doctor's appointments and other times I drove and waited in the car). Finished the class work for two of the classes - only two to go. Then we are off until August, unless I can find a class in web design or selling on eBay that I like (they are taught at some of the schools around here - just have to get the timing right).16

Up a bit later today but already had a shower and washed/dried my hair - just having breakfast.
Hugs to all who need one.
Hope SIL can get a lot of my garden waste in the car today for the tip.
Still keeping to my rule of - it has to have been in the house before Jan 1 2023 to count as decluttered - the office is really pushing up my numbers.
It was chilly here yesterday - NNE wind off the sea.

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks to include MMiM - do this before I go to bed
2. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ I have an acronym - I.R.I.S. being Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off -
3. Implement a new sleep/wake up regime - start going to bed earlier (target before 2:00 a.m.) get up earlier (target by 9:00 a.m.)
4. Deal with ‘Urgent’ daily mail immediately & the rest at the weekend
5. Don’t put it down, put it away
6. If I spot a mini task deal with it immediately e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
7. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
I was the only one of the 3 of us who enjoyed our Chinese meals 😔
Currently watching The Dark Knight Rises which is excessively long + DSis keeps nodding off & snoring 👿 This is annoying beyond belief because she was the one who wanted to watch it & is now complaining that the film is rubbish - I can feel my blood pressure rising 😬 Once it is finally finished I intend to watch the Eurovision Song Contest which I have recorded.

Florenceem, that is a huge pile of ‘stuff’ for the Tip 🤩👏
Blue_Doggy no need to hide in the TLC Carriage 😉 Enjoy your stay - don’t forget to use the massage chairs & this year there is an area devoted to pet cuddling 😉 Plenty of rest & relaxation will hopefully re-energise you 😊
Nice to see you back sammy_kaye18 👋 You have been very busy 👏 You have practically decluttered your entire house 🥳 Good luck with the clothing & craft supplies decluttering 🍀
It is very late, I fell asleep watching Eurovision so have had to rewind & am just watching the public vote. Very tense & I am rather disappointed at the result ☹️

Morning Declutterati Peeps,
I came back yesterday with "just a boot full" of stuff from parents house. This is an improvement of late. One time was half a van full - albeit it most was pallets and they are for building our compost bit and definitely not destined for inside the house. There are 4 boxes already ear marked for their destinations. DS is to receive one as his daughter keeps loosing spoons and forks after taking food outside to eat - teenagers
the other 3 are for the Border Collie rescue and contain envelopes and packaging all new items. Filled up one of the boxes which had some spare room with note pads of various sorts - some very old but at least money saving for them too. The cost will be zero to me as I was gifted many stamps that need using up.
I have sorted some of the old clothes that were permitted to stay for a while they were mainly white cotton type i.e terry nappies, underskirt/petty coat, 2 long nighties, 2 sets of BN pillow cases, baby long nightie. All these items had age marks on them of various sorts and certainly not looking very attractive at all. Knowing I had some shopping from under the sink to use up (from parents house again) the pink bottle of oxy stuff was used. The have all come out absolutely brilliantly and no damage either
to say I was impressed was an under statement. I have never had the need to purchase it so was a little hesitant as not wanting to damage them. I will now need to cotton iron and get some of them listed and some for me to use (not keep, IYSWIM)
@Mrs_Salad_Dodger re clearing table comment I made, your assumption is spot on, it was to do the washing up that followed
DH said his eldest brother would always vanish to the loo and not come back
For those struggling you are and will get there, take care.
2 Scratters xx

Finally managed to catch up on reading the thread through having been diverted by family stresses. They are ongoing unfortunately and part of being of the sandwich generation. Hugs to all who are going through difficulties and applause for everyone keeping going in whatever ways you can.I haven’t been as focused on decluttering as I would like but some things do spring to mind. I dealt with a very awkward to access cupboard in the kitchen by pulling everything out, vacuuming and washing it out. Some items put by in the charity shop bag. Mr MV has cleaned and tidied the rear porch. I have cleared out more craft stuff but there is still more to go out. Yesterday I tackled a wardrobe drawer which was overstuffed. With some going to rags and some to the clothing bank, which I dropped off when I went shopping yesterday. I also put a never worn dress in there. Ironically, I bought it over 5 years ago because I thought it would be versatile! Several scarves went too as they don’t suit me now that my hair is grey.I have realised that I am hanging onto the unsuitable shoes because they give me a sense that I have something to wear with some of my dresses. This is an illusion though because my feet are very sensitive, they also swell easily and I would end up in agony, even if I started off looking nice and being okay when I went out. I am going to shop for something very comfortable (and probably less stylish) to replace them and that way these barely ever worn shoes and sandals can find new homes. My days of tottering about for the sake of looking good are well and truly over 😂16

I didn't get post yesterday so I think when it does arrive - my letter box will be amazed at the quantity pushed through it!
SIL has been but there is still loads of stuff left on the drive for the tip - he only has a car so is limited in the amount that he can take in one trip.
More garden photos - middle part of garden -

Thank you for the words of encouragement and reminder of how far we’ve come in a short timescale Mrs SD. I think a run around & tidy up will help with the ‘warehouse effect’. Everything feels like it’s in the wrong room which isn’t helping in the slightest.Hope you enjoyed Eurovision, Finland was bonkers although I did admire France & Italy’s sequins!✒️ Declutter 2025 🏅👗 Fashion on the Ration 2025 61/66 coupons (5 coupons silver boots)✒️Declutter 2024 🏅🏅🏅(DSis 🏅🏅)

@Florenceem - your grandson is an absolute wonder! Well done to him for all his hard work 👏 And to you for getting so much done and sorted out in the house whilst Mr F is in hospital. I hope that you can soon get back to some crafting, with your craft room just as you would like it.15

Moorviews - yes - everyone could do with a J - he worked so hard.
I have 2 Freeglers wanting items - one is collecting this afternoon.
Just offered on Freegle a lovely vintage Singer sewing machine that was gifted to me - I have tried to sell it - to raise money for SA on local sites/market place but no takers.
I will have to start getting organised for the next table top sale at SA - end of month.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45
