Morning
Thank you Mrs S_D for my medal etc !
I've decluttered 2 long days of my life working on the elections and the election count!
I'm enjoying the positive comments about being self employed; I am hoping to give up my FT job next year to mainly be self-employed; I would have the fall back of being able to take my pension (early) if necessary otherwise I would be happy to do some temporary work or get a PT job if necessary.
Agree with you @QueenJess you do get blind to all the stuff you have.
I've emptied one bag for life from my bedroom - it had loads of paperwork from an old job I left in Jan 2020 and the qualification I passed in 2021! Lots put in the recycling and some papers have been shredded. I've been in my current job since January and I have kept my desk clear of clutter and paper free - I have a small notebook for anything I need to write down but that's all
I've got another bag of papers to sort through by tomorrow.
DD1 has put some of my clothes on V!nted and if they haven't sold by tonight I'm going to put it all in the charity bag.
love Deni x

5 bags off to the charity shop this week!!
Parcel of razor blades off in the post for recycling (fear not the posties fingers are safe from surprises)
Bar of chocolate in the post to thank the nice man who called me to tell me he’d found my luggage label and would post it to me.We had a big screen in town to watch the coronation but it was very soggy. Quite a few people in town though to watch.✒️ Declutter 2025👗 Fashion on the Ration 2025 61/66 coupons (5 coupons silver boots)✒️Declutter 2024 🏅🏅🏅(DSis 🏅🏅)

Disappointed that having convinced OH that he no longer will need a 55 litre rucksack (let alone the 2 he has) the person I offered it to on Freegle didn't want it as it was too small!! Chap was after a 75 L instead. Blinking heavy is my line!!! Fill that right up and you are easily talking about 165 pounds on your back!!! I used to struggle with my 35 L one. I might go ahead and advertise it anyways or see if one of the homeless chaps we see at work needs something. And there's all the associated kit - Sigg bottles, clip on mugs, multi tools, sleep sacks etc etc etc
Off in a bit to see if I can clear a bit more of the carport - the idea now is to clear that a bit, set up the old picnic table and use that to help us clear the "$£%^$£% from the garage. Meanwhile need to sneak FiL's photo montage upstairs and into the loft with MiL's. OH is being blind to them both so I'll get those sorted.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. Well, the week has unfortunately been a bit of a wash. We went down to London to visit Mr Puppy's mum, but she unfortunately was not very well so spent a lot of it in bed chatting. Still, it's nice to get down as we are near Manchester so can't make the journey too often.
I then had high hopes after we came back on the Thursday. It started with a bike ride on Friday - that led to a bike crash so I've been laid up for most of the rest of my holiday 😭
Did manage to persuade Mr Puppy to sort the pan cupboard and have set aside various bits that we simply do not use (and some had never been used! 🫣)
However my other grand plans will need to wait for the next bank holiday.
I don't have anything to add to the conversation re discharge but the surrounding conversations have definitely given food for thought, so thank you15 -
1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks to include MMiM - do this before I go to bed
2. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ I have an acronym - I.R.I.S. being Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off -
3. Implement a new sleep/wake up regime - start going to bed earlier (target before 2:00 a.m.) get up earlier (target by 9:00 a.m.)
4. Deal with ‘Urgent’ daily mail immediately & the rest at the weekend
5. Don’t put it down, put it away
6. If I spot a mini task deal with it immediately e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
7. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Sunday is overcast & a bit dark although not raining 🤞I was up & dressed by 11:00 & now having my first cuppa. Straight into cheerleading as I have fallen behind………….again 😔
EnergyShifter, Pleased to hear that you were in a better frame of mind on Friday up until trying to book your week away 😉 Hopefully it is all sorted now 🤞 Shame about the CS not picking up your items - perhaps they are struggling to get volunteers or maybe they need a full load to pick up 😔 Fingers crossed that you can find another CS 🤞Great decluttering 👏
Excellent decluttering short_bird 👏
Sorry to hear that you are feeling so overwhelmed TC77 ☹️ Not sure what to suggest about the bank cards 🤔 Maybe you have a clear dressing table in your bedroom 🤞so you could arrive home, go straight upstairs and put the wallet & ID card on the table, then return downstairs 🤔 Keeping everything crossed that DD1 gets a new flat before the need to move her stuff into your house 🤞
Sorry to hear that work is so full on at the moment QueenJess 😔 Hopefully next week will the last of it 🤞 I was rather nonplussed at the idea that DS’s school would send him home with a bag to fill with clothing 🫤 Seems rather thoughtless as I would imagine there are probably many parents who have enough problems/challenges/money worries etc without the added pressure of finding stuff for the school to sell 😔 Excellent work in DS’s room & how wonderful that your decluttering has made such a difference (re the plastic bags situation) 👏 Your little & often approach is working well 👏 You must be feeling really pleased that you have now reached the stage where you can quickly identify when something can go out rather than be put away 🥳
Florenceem, sounds like your DGS J is enjoying helping you 😊 What a lovely lad 😊 Very pleased to hear that MrF is still improving mentally & that you are both in agreement that coming home is not viable at the moment. Hopefully you can get straight through to the MH team on Tuesday & they can help you liaise with the hospital🤞The new garage door sounds great & hopefully when you do tell MrF it will be a lovely surprise 😊
weenancy, are you finding any time to sleep? You must be exhausted 😩 Please do take care during the appalling weather 🙏 - rain & tornados plus you also have earthquakes I believe 😱 How on earth there are still people around who deny climate change is a complete mystery to me 😔 I hope Saturday’s party at the library went well 🤞
GrannyKate, 😖 to no dishwasher repair. Rather annoying that companies making mistakes have taken to ‘blaming’ the customer 😠 😞 Fingers crossed that you win a few competitions 🤞
stellata, how depressing that the chap at the CS was so ‘insert appropriate word’ 😔 A smile & a thank you is really not too much to ask when making a donation.
Dfw38, DD2 sounds like an absolute star ⭐️ Now I can understand why you want to make her party perfect & are pulling out all the stops 😊👏 Very impressed that you woke up Friday feeling unmotivated & then did so much decluttering 🥳 I hope you enjoyed the Coronation & got to scoff lots of cake 😉
Handy tip for EnergyShifter 👏
Lovely post bit_by_bit 😊 What a delightful reminder of your dad 🥲 I do love a magic wallet 😉 Hope yesterdays combination celebrations went well & that everyone enjoyed themselves & helped you tidy up after all your hard work🤞😉 Sorry to hear that DD & SiL have been unwell & that DH has injured himself 😔 Please, please have a restful day today 🙏
Florenceem, lovely to hear that you are so enthused about organising your decluttered garage 😊 I am looking forward to seeing photos when it is all done 🙂 as well as seeing your new garage door 😉Hopefully you managed to see the Coronation whether it was at your old church or on you tube 🤞 & took some time to rest & relax 🙏 Great news that so many of your decluttered items are finding new homes 👏 I can see from the bags that you & DGS were very busy in the garden 😊👏
Excellent & eclectic decluttering Happy_Kitties 👏
GrannyKate, hopefully the weather stayed dry for your ‘little do’ 🤞 Excellent work dealing with a complex frog 👏 Here’s to success in finding a couple more things to cancel & saving a bit of money 🍀
Will take a bit of time away from cheerleading & find something to do as I am feeling a bit guilty at being so lazy 😉 especially as DH has already painted the side of the shed 👏😉 The sun has come out 🥳

Oh fuss and bottoms!!! The decluttering gods are against me!!!
I was making some good progress in the carport. Deicer bottle with a drop left in it binned. Box of cards, photos and cross stitch patterns gone through and lots thrown away with anything of value left to be charitied or sent to cousins or whatever. Camera stuff set aside in a box for OH to go through and decide what to do.
Next shelf down I was surprised/appalled by the collection of dead leaves so started with the obvious stuff I could see and binned or whatever. Then rather than stick my bear hand into a collection of leaves that might contain ??? I grabbed the dustpan that was nearby and was using it to scoop the leave out when a small bird flew out. Looked at the leaves in the dustpan and in the midst of it there was a tidy little nest with, I think, 3 fairly naked tiddly birds all with their mouths open ready to be fed. Gently returned it to where it was and left as quickly as possible in the hopes that mama bird isn't too fussed and will return soon. No way for me to know for sure though.....
So no more fussing near there for a while, maybe until I think the birds have fledged. Much like the back garden that needs some work but can't be done due to the 2 adult foxes and 6 kits currently living under the big shed. Any thing we try to do is likely to be dug up or stampeded over.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. Went out at 10 am and just got home - 2 Freeglers collected before I went to Church. Another Freegler is coming at 5 pm.
As fast as I list stuff on Freegle - it goes - saves me lumping it down to the charity shop. Found some LO Laura Ashley wall tiles this morning in the garage.
Won an Easter egg at the SA royalty quiz.
All the cheese puffs and muffins went. I have left my carry case there for them to use for leftovers which will be used on Tuesday.

@Mrs_Salad_Dodger I see what you are saying, but there really is no pressure at all and you can leave the bag in your child's school bag and they'll take it back again. I've actually only filled a bag once before, but as I do have a high turnover of clothes due to DD's age, I would rather they get the cash and support the local school. TBH I am much more irritated with school fetes etc where they encourage you to buy loads of plastic tat to give them money. I would rather just give them money without the tat.
