TC77 - chap in Mr F's bay has gone to the physiotherapy ward - that is what he needs.
We can't afford to have carers coming in.
Had a client/friend call here - he says our side gate is fine - just needs repainting so I will get DGS J to do that next week.
I have booked J to come here next week to help me in the garden.
Just been to SA with bags of rubbish as I have already filled mine and my neighbour's bins. Stayed for a cup of tea and saw a bit of the coronation.
Now back to sorting out the garage.

@Florenceem contact your local county council as they’re responsible for providing adult care services they may have social workers in the hospital who can help. There are also 4 national discharge pathways with varying levels of support packages associated with them. Some of which provide free care for X period of time and then it’s based on income if needed for longer. If Mr F is under 65 you may need to stamp your feet *a lot* as apparently, if you’re under 65, regardless of how much you have deconditioned in hospital you’re miraculously capable of looking after yourself without support (it’s a pet peeve of mine). Also don’t be afraid to say to them that you aren’t in a position to have him home as the house isn’t suitable/you’re not strong enough physically. The hospital is going to focus on him being ‘medically optimised’ but that doesn’t necessarily equate to ‘physically fit’. You both need support to get him back to his pre admission baseline.✒️ Declutter 2025👗 Fashion on the Ration 2025 61/66 coupons (5 coupons silver boots)✒️Declutter 2024 🏅🏅🏅(DSis 🏅🏅)

@Florenceem as @florianatwobob says when he is discharged there should be a period of care which is funded for maybe 4-6 weeks and then is assessed on income. Depending on Mr Fs age do apply for additional benefits, attendants allowance if over 65 and maybe pip personal independence allowance. They take time but get backdated to when you apply which should be the day he is discharged. Think they exclude hospital stays over a set time maybe 3 weeks. Others may know better.

Mr F is 71 years old. He knows that he can't come home until he is able to walk well and manage stairs.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

@Florenceem
I'm so glad that MrF is well enough to know he's not ready to come home. That makes things much easier especially if he makes that clear to those in the hospital.
re attendance allowance..... he wouldn't get it while he's in hospital but there's no reason you can't prepare a form and ask further about it. I do know that it can't be back dated so it's best to be prompt about submitting the application. He might just qualify for the lower level - which frankly isn't a lot about £68 a week - but that could go toward having someone 1 day a week to come and help with bathing etc. And if he got AA and you weren't yet eligible for state pension (aka too young) you could also claim carer's allowance. It does sound like you've a good network of friends that could come and be with him so you can get some me time at SA or wherever.

DH was moaning about the massive pile of stuff that needed to go into the attic and so I ventured up there. I spent ages rearranging and going through everything and now the attic is better arranged it is half empty. More stuff to be ejected as well. Wasn't on my list of things to do today, but it's another load off the mind. I also opened some more kitchen drawers earlier and challenged myself as to whether I actually wanted everything in there - managed to eject a few more things including an icing set I've never used (that was for fantasy me that has time to ice things in a fancy way!). I've counted that as 6 with all the attachments... I always count everything individually as I think every tiny thing that leaves the house is a win!Really need to get back to tidying again. I think I could do it so much quicker, but I just hate tidying so much! I much prefer decluttering...Anyone know what I can do with too many Covid tests? I want to donate them somewhere before they go out of date (not for at least 6 months) as I have too many.Digital:

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks to include MMiM - do this before I go to bed
2. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ I have an acronym - I.R.I.S. being Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off -
3. Implement a new sleep/wake up regime - start going to bed earlier (target before 2:00 a.m.) get up earlier (target by 9:00 a.m.)
4. Deal with ‘Urgent’ daily mail immediately & the rest at the weekend
5. Don’t put it down, put it away
6. If I spot a mini task deal with it immediately e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
7. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Quick post finishing off Friday:- The vacuum cleaner which I took out of the under stairs cupboard a few days ago & has been staring at me reproachfully ever since 😉 is now satisfied 😂 I have hoovered the downstairs & ashamed to say I had to empty it three times 😔 Now back in the cupboard 😉 The rain has stopped but there are still some dark clouds & the breeze has picked up ☹️ I now have my 2nd cuppa & am about to start arranging/transcribing my To Do lists - wish me luck & concentration 🍀🧐 Only did about 15 minutes of paperwork then succumbed to putting the TV on & watching many episodes of True Blood. DH went to visit G in hospital for a 2nd day in a row. She is still doing well but does get tired quite easily. Dinner was risotto cakes. Wudupa. Stayed up until 05:30 to pay milkman.
