I would expect that someone computer savvy such as yourself would have no problem doing the diy PoAs (get one for health and one for finances). And I'm sure there will be someone in your SA gang that can help with the witnessing etcetera. And I don't think you actually need a doctor to confirm his state of mind. Again I think someone from SA may be able to do this as they know him well. And MrF will need to be part of the signing process if it is to succeed. The downside though is that, according to the website, it can take up to 20 weeks to register a PoA. But if you go down that route do check if you qualify for a reduction in the £82 fee.The person requirements for confirming the POA are explained in the linked document. Yes, no need for a lawyer / doctor only.

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks to include MMiM - do this before I go to bed
2. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ I have an acronym - I.R.I.S. being Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off -
3. Implement a new sleep/wake up regime - start going to bed earlier (target before 2:00 a.m.) get up earlier (target by 9:00 a.m.)
4. Deal with ‘Urgent’ daily mail immediately & the rest at the weekend
5. Don’t put it down, put it away
6. If I spot a mini task deal with it immediately e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
7. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
My trip out was partially successful - banked cheques, got cash, posted letters, did a bit of shopping. Unfortunately I couldn’t find the Foreign Exchange Outlet as I wanted to pick up some Euros 😔 I was out for over 2 hours & came home to find a message from DH - he had forgotten to take his tablet before going out 🙄 He came home for an hour, took his pill with coffee before heading off to the hospital. DH had a good time catching up with A - they visited the Status Quo Exhibition at The Barbican then had a couple of pints & a sandwich in The Golden Fleece. A has not yet had a diagnosis about his dizzy spells but is hoping for a diagnosis when he sees a Consultant next month 🤞 DSis has done one load of washing & had a bath.
Gers, good steady decluttering 👏 Well done on reaching a decision re DM’s treasured items 👏 & good luck with actioning this in the summer 🍀
Great idea Siebrie 😊 As you say all this talk of PoA’s is a timely reminder - DH & I need to sort out our financial situation - paperwork, passwords etc
Floss, so sorry to hear your news ☹️ Wishing you a successful surgery & that the radiotherapy is not too traumatic.
Good luck with the LPOA, Florenceem 🍀
Another thank you to all those who have commented & provided information about PoAs etc 👏 (To mention a few:- -taff, GrannyKate, Brie, short_bird, Gers)
Lovely supportive post ~FlowerPot~ 😊
Congratulations on completing the Marathon Dfw38 🥳 With all the disruptions to your training, I am so pleased that you managed to not only complete it but have also joined the ballot for next year 😊 Do remember to pop into the TLC Carriage & tell us all about it 😊 Hopefully a few long relaxing baths will take care of the aches & pains 😉
Brie, I see OH is embracing the decluttering & his ‘enthusiasm’ has inspired you to tackle the Room of Doom 😉 Excellent work 👏
QueenJess, it sounds like you are being a bit hard on yourself ‘wagging finger emoji’ You are doing an excellent job of not only decluttering but also tidying 👏
Crossing everything that everyone turns up 🤞 Good news that DH has given you the go ahead to sell the unwanted Lego 😁 Hopefully you will get top price 🤞
Great work getting all the laundry done Fizz2015 👏 Hope you had a lovely time with MiL & that the sun continued to shine 😊 Re resuming your decluttering, I would start with the area that annoys you the most 😉 Remember to take before & after photos to encourage you to continue + as confirmation to yourself that you ARE a successful declutterer 😊
All caught up so I should probably tackle the last 2 low kitchen cupboards 😉

Hi all. I am so excited and have come straight on here to share with people who will understand. 2 years ago I put a load of weeds, twigs and grass cuttings into empty compost bags. Half full so that I could still lift them, tied them tightly to stop any air getting to them and hid them begind the shed. Today I plucked up the courage to peep inside and I have created the most dark, rich, lush looking compost I could ever wish for. It is very wet so have spread it over the garden before digging it in tomorrow! 6 half bags cleared so I am counting as 3 full ones. I couldnt be happier if I had found gold! Oh yes, for anyone who is interested DH has been down the garden with washing for the line and to check tomatoe plants were still alive after the cold temp last night and has not yet noticed the missing tree! Both the line pulley and tomatoes are right next to space where tree was! 🤷♀️. He may never notice!!! 😅craft stash 2023 =161, 2024 = 119 2025 = £25.96 spent, 128 made and 5 mended,

Oh stbo, well done on the compost, lovely 😍
Dfw well done on the times, hope you had your feet up today.
Meant to say earlier i loved that flower in the book arrangement, gorgeous.
Well done everyone. I'm mainly decluttering energy and my previously unsore legs. Too many days of gardening then yesterday trying a new class (kurling) has made my legs and hips sore and stiff so going to have a break from the garden tomorrow and do something different.
Might even get back to tidying inside the house!
Hugs to all

Visited Mr F this afternoon - was not home before 6pm as Dd was late picking me up. No more results yet. Mr F was saying that he thinks there is cancer in his bowel as he is soiling his nappy - I told him that he has been screened top to toe and no cancer!
A lay reader R we know came in the bay to visit chap in next bed so he visited Mr F as well - prayed with us. Mr F was more perky while R was there than just me. When I mention anything financial he gets anxious. I think they are going to find nothing physically wrong and transfer Mr F to Psychiatry.
I have no lift home tomorrow as my Dd is at a conference and my neighbour has arranged something with a work colleague. I am trying to decide about having a day off from visiting. I have visited every day for 16 days and need time at home to make phone calls.
I will ask my officer to download and print the LPOA form tomorrow. The officers are taking me on Thursday to visit Mr F so could witness him signing. I will also write out a document to authorise me to discuss accounts that are in Mr F's name as the LPOA takes a while. I will get the officer to print it out for me tomorrow.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

A sensible idea, Florenceem, to have a day off from visiting MrF. You will not be having a day off from all the admin that needs seeing to and you need to look after yourself.I was once in a similar-ish situation with my MiL and a support nurse told me to try to find some little thing to do each day that would bring me pleasure and I was to write it down ! I think the idea was to find something of meaning for me as a break from my relentless duty as the only DiL.Thinking of you both and hugs and MrRiF sways to send you his best wishes.18

Thanks @charlies_tribe, Mrs SD, @Fizz2015 and @daisy_1571. Had an easier day yesterday but back to normal today. Will found out at the end of June if I am successful for next year's marathon... if not might do the virtual one again. My medal and t shirt should be here in the next couple of weeks so am looking forward to receiving that. Not normally fussed about my 'achievements' (don't even have my graduation photo up, studied with the OU while holding down 2 jobs 1 pt and the other ft, only a handful of people know that i have a degree because I find it kind of embarrassing, like i am sort of bragging) but I am very pleased with myself for Sundays efforts.
Car is still not fixed. Think we are going to have to bite the bullet and think about replacing.
Sorry to hear that Mr F is still poorly @Florenceem. That is an enormous strain on you. Please don't feel guilty about taking a day. There is no point burning yourself out, especially if there is going to be a high level of stress or taking care of Mr F when he comes home. Take every opportunity you can to take care of yourself. One of the doctors I knew told me once that it is the carers whose health deteriorates quicker than the people they look after because it is such a huge undertaking and the carers often don't look after themselves because they are focused on helping the poorly person. Make sure you prioritise yourself too. 🤗2024 decluttering Campaign
