Evening. Had a lot I wanted to write but it's gone, too tired to retain it. Florenceem, I sure once MrF has recovered he wouldn't like to know you hadn't looked after yourself while he was poorly. Take the time to rest and look after yourself. He is in the best place for him at the minute and being well looked after x
It has made me think about looking at our accounts though. I do everything. DH has a card with so much on a month as he'd probably just spend every penny. If for any reason I couldn't sort it he wouldn't have a clue where to start.
Well done Dfw38. I've walked 10000 steps today and I'm already aching, you have every reason to be proud 🥇
Busy couple of days with lots leaving that had been bagged up from our room. Yesterday was a tidy of our room and sorted through my drawers and finally got rid of all the size 8/10 id been holding on to in the hope of wearing again, its never going to happen 😂 A long dog walk this morning, a bit of shopping and baking and maths with DD2 this afternoon. Thought we had done well at her meeting yesterday but she was having none of it this morning.

Hope all goes well @floss. @charlies_tribe 6 months ago I started with 10,000 steps and was also exhausted. I was sure I did more daily being home with ds but when I attached my pedometer it was about 3000! Sent some of mum's jewellery off to a gold buying place (on agreement with dbro and dsis, as none of us wanted those pieces) and was stunned by the amount of money we received! Just over £800. We are going to split it 3 ways, I think i am going to buy a piece of jewellery for myself (someone gave me this advice on another thread) and the rest I am going to put in an account for adventures and add to it whenever I can.
Thinking ahead to May for a challenge to get me back into the swing of things after 2 months I think I am going to attempt Mini Missions In May (MMiM) target 31 + 18 (for March that I couldn't do) areas to blitz and also aim for 10 🐸
Hope you all have a lovely day, onwards and upwards!2024 decluttering Campaign

Good number again today for the declutter challenge.
Last night I had someone come to collect stuff on the local freegle group and a chap is coming to collect a large item this evening.
I have pots of paint that have been sitting in the garage for years. I asked Dd if Sil was going to the tip soon. Dd replied that he had already booked a slot for this Saturday so it will be bye bye paint - they were used when we renovated 10 years ago!
I have just listed more stuff on freegle.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Still feeling tired and low but come lunchtime today I will be finished work for 6 days so hopefully that will help me "reset".
Sadly one of the pairs of trainer shoes I bought are going to have to go - I only wore them out for 15 mins and I got leg and back pain for over 24 hours. Old TV ariels haven't been taken as scrap - unusual as things get swooped up quickly round here. I'll leave them a couple of days more & if they don't go I'll ask neighbour if I can chuck them in their skip.
On the bright side I picked up 2 ad hoc pieces of work which pay reasonably well.
Tasks:
2 large bags to CS
Put the chapter tabs on my Bible (I've only had them 2 years)
IN (running total 84)
0
OUT (running total 377)
378. dead plant & pot from garden
Floss: Good Luck with your treatment
Dfw38: Well done on completing the Marathon
Thanks for support MrsSD

Still adamant that nothing apart from food is entering my house.
Tins of paint are now bagged ready for collection by sil.
I have just thrown a bottle of sherry in my black bin - hope that is okay. Found a bottle of champagne - that should be okay - shouldn't it - will offer to Dd.
I am having a day off visiting today - tried to phone the ward so they can tell Mr F that I am not coming but no answer - will keep trying.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

This is decluttering in a mega-scale. All so personal too. Took Mary 30 years to do this, perhaps we are not so bad after all!

Interesting Gers although I think a difference is she kept it happily and hasn't been trying to declutter for years but inspiring in terms of the personal relationship.
Even daily keeping stuff under control is out of the window and wouldn't want any guests
Did drop off CS bag and add some still in wrappers dvds . Morecambe and wise and open all.hours - they said should be able to sell.
Hoping to find a carpet and can then when out down the office can be used again. Dd1 made 2 offers for flats, waiting to hear from landlord in Australia and other she's second if first person can't agree on furniture to take. Less than a month til she moves out! Need to find space for her things !18 -
well done @Florenceem for taking the day to get on with things. If there's SA people visiting the ward then likely they will stop to chat with MrF, otherwise there's the nurses and other visitors. I, personally, would always say hello, chat a bit with others on MiL's ward as I knew some had no visitors whatsoever. And while I'm not British (so blatantly bold!!) there were lots of Brits who would chat with MiL and the rest. One couple even brought her a box of chocolates on her birthday when they came in to visit their own relative.
I'm trying to take a day off the declutter but might get a couple of rucksacks pegged out on the line. They are dusty dirty from being in a shed for a couple of years so at a minimum need an airing. They should have a good brush off or a soaking wash but I might depend on it raining to sort that out. Once done and then dry I can decide if they go back in the shed or to the charity shop. One is a picnic bag so there's all the cutlery and plates etc as well so potentially might go to the food bank for one of the homeless chaps they support (surprising how many people live in their cars or in the woods somewhere).

Not loads happening today as I've got lots of real world work to catch up on. Only one person didn't pick up yesterday, but they did pick up this morning, so my library is looking tons better already and I can see large bits of the floor again!I went through some of my kitchen cupboards and took out a few items I know I will struggle to use up. I've bagged them up and will delegate taking them to the food bank to DH as one of his tasks for this week. The 2 Lego sets that are opened I don't think are worth selling for a few £'s given the amount of time it would take me to organise this (and I am always desperately short on time), so I've posted those two on Buy Nothing. The other three I will slowly list online. Still a big pile of packaging bags next to me, so I've got my eyes peeled for anything else to be posted on Buy Nothing this week!Decluttering
