Short update. DD is mainly better, but is tired and very quiet. Not her usual cheery, happy cheeky self, which is mentally draining. She has no temperature and is eating and drinking, so crossing my fingers she will be back to normal very soon.I am totally exhausted and am fit for nothing. More digital decluttering to pass the time when checking on DD:Digital:

@Florenceem my dad had delirium from diabetic ketoacidosis. They sorted that out but then I think the break in his routine and the lack of sleep brought it on again in hospital.

Evening all, dad's funeral was lovely. The celebrant really managed to capture dad's character, the flowers were so beautiful, our extended family (which is on the small side) were so supportive and dsister behaved herself. It wasn't very sunny but at least it didn't rain and in the end just 4 of us were needed to carry dad in (he weighed 5stone at the end), me, dh, dsis and dbro so it really was the people who cared for him who helped him on his way. Dbro was unable to finish his poem so I stepped up to read it for him (he has been so busy getting the death certificate sorted, he hasn't had time to really process anything). Our reflection music was a song that dad had recorded, we used it for mum too. 'Bluebird' by wings, dad was a very talented musician. It was made all the more special to us as he had been non-verbal for the best part of 2 years so we hadn't heard his voice in such a long time.We took one of the flowers we had the florists make him (a guitar) and me, dh and dbro went on a 5 mile round trip to put it on our brother and sisters grave and have a little chat with them.
It was a hard day and I was wrecked with emotion until I saw dad arrive at the house with the cars and that is when my brother broke down. Had to pull up my big girl undies and be strong for him. Going to have a nice long bath and an early night.
Thanks for thinking of me today, it is truly appreciated. Thanks @Mrs SD for the wishes for Sunday, glad your dd is feeling better @queenjess try and catch up on some rest if you can. Sorry to hear that your dh is still poorly @Florenceem, I hope you are also Bme to take some time to rest.
Big hugs to everyone and hope you are all well2024 decluttering Campaign

- 3 three-year-old to-do lists torn up for scrap
- 6 magazines put on the to-read pile
Some “too-difficult-for-now” items put back in box, box returned to RoD
Second box brought down from RoD, various dates Christmas tidy-ups
- 2008! Car insurance document to shredding pile
- Handouts and notes from iPad course (2018) tidied and put in folder to go to study
- Board Games papers put with Board Games boxes

Apologies I haven't kept up a, hope Mrs D that your niece is recovering and @QueenJess your DD too.
@Florenceem so glad that they are doing all the investigations they can and that he recognised you today. Hugs and thinking of you and Mr F.
Mrs SD thank you for your fab cheerleading and enabling me to know how the declutter extended family are.
Work taking over and letting a few other important people/organisations know the change in email.
DB is at our dad's house and having been away for 2 months realised how much is still left. I've put a few things vintage suitcase and stool in need or upcycling which will be in a tip run at the weekend if no takers. he's taking a very nice circular card table (which folds to a semicircle) which I would have taken if he hadn't - but there are enough other things for me to take :smi:smile:
Can't remember if I said someone picked up the 70s teasmaid and DD2 made a comment about something actually going out of our house!
Printed digital vouchers for shops as I can never find them on my phone - I know I can download but I hate the staff at the till waiting for me and a physical reminder I have them. Now to spend them..
Went to my first flower arranging class. When I told DD2 going to a class she queried why in my jeans as usually pilates etc and laughed at me. Enjoyed more than I thought and was book day theme.....

Hi all, terrible nights sleep last night. OH not well and very disturbed all night. I felt like a wet dish rag all day. OH has decided it is a cold, negative covid test, but feels rotten.
OH complained about the soap in the bathroom, I expected that sooner, and as we needed shampoo and deodorant I dug out a b00ts voucher I had and took myself off to the shops. It is ages since I have used them for things like that and today I remembered why. The most amazing array of shampoos if you need something special that you don't mind breaking the bank for
. I hunted around and managed to find a couple of bottles half price, which were just about in line with what I would normally pay. Ideally I wanted to try some bars of shampoo but they were even more extortionate. As for soap they had 4 types, 3 of which OH won't use so I didn't have much choice but luckily they were also reduced. Similar story with the deodorants. OH also asked me to pick up something for a first size baby as a pupil has had to have an emergency c section today and wanted a small gift. Got a very cute baby grow made from organic cotton which OH will pay me for. Also picked up some half price body wash as part of a birthday present. So I have uu the voucher and reimbursed myself from the housekeeping money so saving myself a trip to the cash machine.
We had coffee over the fence with ln as the weather was pleasant. After tea OH dosed up with paracetamol and hot lemon and honey, not allowed to take anything else due to other meds, and went off to bed.
I spent some time thinking about why I am finding it so hard to make any real progress decluttering. I have come to the conclusion that I am still feeling a bit overwhelmed by it all and it's just easier to stick my head in the sand. This has really left me feeling annoyed with myself as I know I just have to get on with it. So I have sat down and made a sort of a plan. I started with my long term goals, proritised them and then worked through what I need to do to achieve the top priority goal.. Then I looked at those and prioritised those and then broke down the top priority into what I think are achievable tasks. I am hoping this will help me to have a clearer mind so I can actually get something done. It's a plan anyway
Then I did some crochet.
I have caught up with all the posts but my brain is on strike tonight so I will just say hugs to anybody who would like one.
Take care everyone

Thanks for my star Mrs SD and hugs to all in need. I am reading posts but still need to catch up. Did competitions and some surveys yesterday so almost up to date. Change of plans for the week as ex dil unwell and I had to go and collected DGCs last night. So school runs all week. I've promised them swimming after school today.
536 Small frog done. I went to move the note out of my way and thought just do it now so stuff found printed and posted off
537 Large bag from DS2 dropped off at CS and collected the item (old fashioned hifi unit) he wanted. Too heavy for me so they put it in car and I ended up driving round with it all day as I couldn't get it out of car again. In lovely condition for £10 but dark brown so not wanted. Think he will upcycle.
538 History meeting done and notes to recycling
539 Emails sent for plan changes this week

@Liverpool_Anne
try the "health food" stores for shampoo bars. they seem to be cheaper there and there's often a much bigger assortment. My current favourite is Cyril's Goat Milk bar. It seems to get cheaper each time I buy it - I expect due to increased competition and perhaps increased production. And it's fairly local to me to not many "food miles".I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards.
