In order to get an overview of your tasks and similarly to the Eisenhower Box technique, you can divide your to-do list in 4 categories:- Things you don’t want to do, but actually need to do.
- Things you want to do and actually need to do.
- Things you want to do, but actually don’t need to do.
- Things you don’t want to do, and actually don’t need to do. The frog is the Things you don’t want to do, but actually need to do.

Back from the hospital and Mr F is talking today. However everything he says is a load of rubbish. He told the Doctor that I was his hearing aid and that he was 34 years old. When I left him - I felt that I had been in another world where nothing made sense. He was going on about broken windows and a phone on top of a tree and a carrot coming out of his navel. He said that he had committed suicide by swallowing a book when he fell asleep with his glasses on.
Mr F refused breakfast and to have a wash.
I was told that he ate lunch.
The Consultant is seeing him tomorrow. The Registrar said they hope to do the mri tomorrow morning. I asked about the blood tests - those that went to London take 2 weeks.
He is now on medication to avoid blood clots, for high blood pressure and to prevent seizures.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

More hugs @Florenceem. I'm glad your comrades in SA are being so helpful. One would expect them to be I guess but it's nice that it's actually happening. Glad your daughter was able to take you home as well. Keep your strength up please!!!
OH was chatting at breakfast about whether we should go to a car boot sale to get rid of stuff. It's £5 entry and I'm not sure we would have enough to interest people to make our fee back. I suggested the DVDs but he wants to keep those. He's got a large box of a variety of nice, hardly worn shoes but I can't imagine anyone will pay more than £1 or £2 - or will they? Some clothing too but again it means the right person, the right size spotting something they want. I guess we need to take a proper look to see what we have in the declutter room and decide if the car boot is worth the effort or we should just take at to a charity shop.
Thought I was doing well by moving my paintings around, cutting a matt for one and framing work I did on Saturday. And then the OH said he didn't think I should clutter up the dining room with too many. And then maybe he thought that was a bit harsh and pointed to a spot on the wall where there's a collection of small glass objects and suggested a larger painting might be needed for that spot. Good thing then that next week's art class is planned as an A3 size mixed media still life. Non soluble ink drawing of a point of interest based in the kitchen, topped with large swathes of watercolour and finished with pastels. Well, whatever else, it's a plan!!! But if it works I'll them have to find someplace for the glass objects....

@-taff yes you are right rugby fans are not like football fans but in this case the problem was caused by locals storming the stadium and the french police totally over reacting and spraying tear gas at the fans of both teams who were patiently waiting for up to 4 hours to gain entry to the stadium. Everyone, except the french police but including the french government has said the fans were categorically NOT to blame for the situation and admitted that if it had not been for the exemplary way the fans behaved lives would have been lost. There were children in the crowd as well as seniors, people in wheelchairs and pregnant women. The way the fans were treated was an absolute disgrace and legal action is being taken by lots of fans against the authorities. I have been attending football matches for 40 years and I remember the days when fans were a problem but it is usually not the case in the uk now. Lots of work has been done with authorities and fans to eliminate problems especially since the Hillsborough disaster. When travelling abroad however there is a problem with opposition fans and the way police treat fans. In france, for example, away fans are not allowed to attend football matches so the police have no idea how to behave towards them, plus the standard response of the police in Paris to any crowd situation they don't like appears to be to send in riot police and spray everyone with tear gas. Sorry if I have offended anyone, it is not my intention but it is something I feel passionate about and the old stereotypes of football fans need to be put in the past where they belong.
Take care everyone14 -

@Florenceem more hugs, and hope the mri goes ok and hopefully they find out more what is going on for Mr F.
@MadRatters sorry to hear how tough 2023 is so far.
Been reading along, had to send urgent email only to find the warning for Feb that over storage level kicked in. I was 250% ish and got down to 197% but last night stayed up to 2am and got to 160% and today got to 101% and then 99% but every time an email came in I could send an email despite deleting dozens. About 5 hours spend today and now at 89% lots deleted but some now moved to be looked at in the autum - I think I will have 48 hour days when DD2 goes to uni (optimistic planning).
Have a yah* email which has more storage so let cat insurance, bank, brother and DDs know that is now to be used.
1 sold item posted. And the carpet laid 8 weeks ago and which smells was taken up. the fitter agreed odd smell and thought as remnant can have been around for months - wool carpet. Depending what to put down, looking forward to computer and files moving out of bedroom. Fitter suggested not getting a remmant not sure about wool mix or synthetic as the room is so cold.
Heyho, work is mounting but the sunshine does help.
Take care all x

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks to include MMiM - do this before I go to bed
2. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ I have an acronym - I.R.I.S. being Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off -
3. Implement a new sleep/wake up regime - start going to bed earlier (target before 2:00 a.m.) get up earlier (target by 9:00 a.m.)
4. Deal with ‘Urgent’ daily mail immediately & the rest at the weekend
5. Don’t put it down, put it away
6. If I spot a mini task deal with it immediately e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
7. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
The plastic pot with the old coins broke so I have repacked into a small sturdy box - now I just need to deliver to BHF 😉 Ended up doing precisely nothing today apart from watching TV & doing the wudupa 😔 DH had a good day & was safely in his hotel by 18:00. Forwarded a message from G’s daughter. G was taken off the sedatives at 13:00, woke up for a while but then fell asleep naturally. Blood test came back clear for everything 🙂

retiredinfrance, do let me know when DH starts on the journey disposing of Justins 🤞 If he does well enough he might even earn a gold star to go with his medal 😉 Shame there were no fivers in the handbag 😔 As you have not used the handbag in such a long time is it in the CS bag?
Welcome aboard the EDT Pixie_Cosmo 👋 Lovely to see a new face 😊 Excellent decluttering 👏 How on earth can your council justify only having a bin collection every 3 weeks 😖 It must make life very difficult especially as your Recycling Centre is so far away 😔 Keep up the good work & I look forward to celebrating your successes 😊
Sorry to hear about the damp in the bedroom, charlies_tribe 😔 Hope you haven’t lost anything precious & that DH discovers the cause of the damp 🤞Re the old £5 notes - I believe you can fill in a form & send to the Bank of England for replacement 🤔 Excellent decluttering 👏
🤩 vulpix you have been busy - great decluttering 👏 Excellent news re all the money being raised for charity from your MiL’s items 🙂 Very pleased to hear that the bathroom is nearly finished 👏Edinburgh & Paris to look forward to 😊
Florenceem, so sorry to hear that MrF had a bad Sunday 😔 Although pleased to hear that you spent some time with your SA family 🙂 Hugs to both you & MrF 🤗
QueenJess, sorry to hear that DD has been so ill 🤒 but very pleased to hear that the fever has finally broken & that she is on the mend. Hopefully now you can catch up on some sleep 🤞 Excellent digital decluttering 👏

Hugs all round where needed.
Quite a productive day yesterday - caught up on washing and managed to get it mostly dry outside. Car insurance has gone up even though no claims. Will leave for this year I think perhaps shop around next year. I am going to cancel Amazon P as I don't need or use it and this is more than the annual insurance increase. Not much point in paying c£90 pa to have a couple of next day deliveries a year. You can usually pay a few extra pounds for fast delivery or I can buy elsewhere and I never use the music or video options. Due 1 June so must look to see if cancellation notice needed.
510-520 Selection of clothes put in CS bag by DS2.

525 Shredding done
526 DS2 sorted lots of his stuff in garage and some binned or recycled
527-532 Random stuff to tip for recycling etc - tins, glass, paper, metal and cardboard - DS2 forgot to put bins out last week
533 Back lawn mowed - front not really grown
534 Various items put up for sale - will list when/if they go
535 Two carrier bags of cable set aside to go to scrap merchant
Did buy a desk for DGD4 which needs putting together. Very annoyed as I missed a new history meeting because I had wrong date in diary. Next month double checked and in diary for right day. I have afternoon meetings the next three days which I hope to go to. I have to go an get item from CS for DS2 - only £10 so hope its still there today. We dithered about getting it then left it too late to go back. Next job is to empty and wash down greenhouse. There is some tat in there which can be released to the tip. Study could do with a cull as well. Arranged a few days at DDs house when I have my next childfree break at end of month.

Went to bed at 8.30 - read a magazine for a while.
Sunny day here. I have stuff ready to take to charity shop when it opens.
SA are holding a prayer evening tonight for Mr F.
A neighbour is taking me to the hospital today.
I can only access my pension money as everything else is in Mr F's name. I think that I am going to have terrible problems when I phone utilities etc as they will quote data protection at me. The only bill that I have in my name is my phone of £13.99 a month.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45
