@Mrs_Salad_Dodger - Thank you for your kind words. I’m so sorry for the sudden illness with your niece. It must be such a shock and a frightening experience for you all. I hope that all goes well as she comes out of the induced coma.@QueenJess - I hope that you and your daughter are doing okay now. Your nursing of her must have been a great comfort to her during the fever.@roundtuit - I remember being very gripped when reading Duncton Wood when it first came out.@Florenceem - hopefully the tests and scans will start to unravel the puzzle of what is happening for your husband. I’m glad you are getting some support during this upsetting and confusing time.@MadRatters - it sounds like you have had a very traumatic few months. I hope things are a bit easier for you going forward and that you manage to find a new job that you can enjoy although I appreciate that the fibromyalgia makes everything more difficult. Don’t forget about the TLC carriage to give yourself permission for some self care.
With a bit of juggling and some encouragement of myself to be rational I whittled down the contents of two storage boxes into one. That freed up a box for my sewing bits and pieces so I was quite pleased with myself. I am trying to get a bit quicker at deciding things can go as realistically some things are little more than rubbish. It’s that “little more” that flummoxes me and leads me to agonising as to what I should do with it 😂 I have actually managed to do some sewing too and decluttered a metre of fabric into a top for myself. It’s nice to do something creative for a change!14 -
Liverpool_Anne said:Sorry if I have offended anyone, it is not my intention but it is something I feel passionate about and the old stereotypes of football fans need to be put in the past where they belong.
Take care everyoneNo, you are right too..a few bad apples do manage to contaminate the rest of the barrel, so my apologies for general denigrating of football fans without taking into account what happens in other countries re the police, where they have guns and are not afraid to use them..Going to declutter some long grass today and some garden detritus..Florence, hope you can sort your finances too. You're getting all the whammies at once.

My nephew came and took the tools he needs, so that’s half gone, rest will go with dd1 to charity. Also out is a set of pine drawers from the garage to family member.Sun is out so washing will shortly be on the line.
Hugs all round .Focus on contribution instead of the impressiveness of consumption to see the true beauty in people.16 -
Florenceem said:Back from the hospital and Mr F is talking today. However everything he says is a load of rubbish. He told the Doctor that I was his hearing aid and that he was 34 years old. When I left him - I felt that I had been in another world where nothing made sense. He was going on about broken windows and a phone on top of a tree and a carrot coming out of his navel. He said that he had committed suicide by swallowing a book when he fell asleep with his glasses on.2025 GOALS

Tuesday I am up & dressed by 10:15. I am having my 1st cuppa & the intention is to go out to CS - as long as it doesn’t rain 🤞The sun has disappeared today & it is overcast although slightly warmer than last week 😊
Dfw38, sorry to hear that you are feeling overwhelmed by the stuff at your dad’s house 😔 It sounds like you have made a good start - 3 Tip runs & 20 bags for council collection 👏 Hoping you have no rain for your dad’s funeral today 🤞Good luck for the marathon on Sunday 🍀
EnergyShifter, Pleased to hear that time spent sleeping in the TLC Carriage is working it’s magic & that you are feeling a bot better 😊
Great work Liverpool_Anne, both in your house & OH’s garden 👏 Keeping everything crossed that it is not too long before you get back to OH’s house now that you have permission to clear the back garden of all the rubbish/broken items etc 🤞I hope you enjoyed yesterday’s visit to Tate North & lunch with your friend 🙂 Thank you for your good wishes for G & MrSD & myself.
Lovely to see you weenancy 👋 I have been wondering where you were but realised that you were almost certainly very busy 🙂 (as proved by your post 😉) Pleased to hear that the upstairs/downstairs move has been successfully completed 🤞 Fingers crossed that the weather starts improving now 🤞With all that rain it must be difficult with the husky - or does she have an outside kennel? Having read your schedule for the week, I am just wondering when you find time to sleep 🤔 Please, please take care 🙏 Hoping that your shoulder is recovering & that you have a date for your cataract operation 🤞Good luck for Friday’s book sale & hope you are as successful with the VHS tapes giveaway as you were with the children’s books 🍀 Thanks for letting us know about grandmanerd 👏
GrannyKate, sounds like you had a lovely weekend with DGD2 😊 Good news about DS2’s legal matter being sorted without the need for court & fingers crossed that he gets his money very soon 🤞 Great work dealing with tasks & frogs 👏
I am going to post this now before making & drinking my 2nd cuppa & psyching myself up to go out 😉

Straight into cheerleading 🙂
roundtuit, pleased to hear that you have been making full use of the TLC Carriage 😊 Sorry to hear that RL is & has been so exhausting 😞 but hopefully work will ease off a lot so that you can start putting your theoretical decluttering ideas into practice 🤞Well done on starting your wimbling 👏 & good luck with future Wimbledon 🍀 Love the nonchalant whistle 😙 - the dictionaries are possibly obsolete after 45 years 😉😉
Great work on Sunday’s decluttering Florenceem 👏 Very pleased to hear that you had a complete day off from using public transport 😊
vulpix, definitely a shock about DH’s niece G as she is only in her early 50’s & has kept herself pretty fit & healthy 😔 We are more used to worrying about her older sister M who has had numerous medical issues from birth 😞 How kind of you to let the plumber have Sunday off 😉 only joking 🙃 It must be nice to have the house to yourself 😊 Hope you managed to get most of the debris to the Tip on Sunday 🤞
Liverpool_Anne, thanks for the link 👏 A very interesting site & I spent rather too long reading it yesterday although I did enjoy reading about Eisenhower’s Box 🙂 I am definitely guilty of spending too much time dealing with ‘non urgent, not important’ tasks 🙊
MadRatters, 2023 has definitely been, in the dear old Queen’s parlance, “an annus horribilis” I am sending you lots of gentle hugs 🤗 & lots of positive wishes that your job hunting secures you a job in the very near future 🍀 I am also sending you some virtual flowers 💐 & also a medal 🏅 for continuing to declutter amidst all the turmoil 😊
-taff, hope you managed a successful blitz on Sunday after OH went to work 🤞
I got so caught up in my cheerleading that I have only just made my 2nd cuppa 🙊 The sky is getting darker but I have decided that I will visit CS regardless of whether it is raining or not.
Thought I would treat everyone to a bit of Sand Art 😉

I took stuff to the charity shop then went to SA for the weekly prayer meeting. Had another offer of a lift to Canterbury - my Church family are so helpful.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Thankyou MrsSD The metal men just appear out of nowhere. I heard one the other day playing 'Any Old Iron' but usually its someone with a loud speaker shouting a prolonged 'iiirrrroooonn'.
I hope your neice is going to be ok.
@Dfw38: thank goodness the registration went ahead. I hope it is a smooth and calm day for you today. I am sending my biggest hugs.
Congrats on the new job @Muddy_Walker
Welcome back @MadRatters Sorry you are going through a rough patch. Luckily nothing stays the same forever. I hope things improve soon.
RE £5 notes @charlies_tribe You can exchange them over the counter at the post office or deposit them into your bank account. I did this a few years ago with decimal old money. No problem at the Post office. Let us know how you get on.
I hope the MRI goes smoothly @Florenceem Positive thoughts and hugs for the ongoing situation.
I have been away with some old friends in a caravan near Bakewell in the Peak Park. A smashing long weekend of rest and recuperation, shopping, eating and drinking.
I came back yeserday but did nothing as totally cream crackered from all the shopping, eating and drinking.LOL.
Today I am catching up with this thread, sorting a few frogs then heading off to the allotment to plant the spuds I failed to plant last week.
