Back again whilst I drink my coffee 😉
daisy_1571, like you I have spent a bit of time reading various bits of the site QueenJess recommended 😉 It is now bookmarked & I will revisit when I do my next round of digital decluttering 😉 Thanks for the hugs for MrSD’s niece 😊
More hugs Florenceem 🤗 Sorry to hear that MrF is still so unwell 😔 Hopefully the MRI will lead to a full diagnosis so that the medical staff can treat the cause as well as the symptoms 🤞 Please remember to take care of yourself 🙏
Brie, sounds like OH is on thin ice at the moment 🤔 😅 Perhaps he should offer more help & less commentary 🤣
Liverpool_Anne, how terrifying for anyone who attends a football match in France 😧 Nothing wrong with being passionate about an injustice & I am sure many people are in full agreement 🙂
EnergyShifter, yippee to staying awake all day yesterday 🥳 Great news that you were still paid even though no-one was booked in for your sessions 👏 with the added bonus that you were able to catch up on admin & hoovering 🙂
Good work roundtuit 👏
TC77, well done on clearing so much from your over-storage 👏 Good luck with your 48 hour days in the Autumn 🍀 😉 Re the bedroom, would a nice rug or two be a solution until you can decide on the type of carpet? Maybe some wall hangings might help as well 😊
Excellent decluttering on Monday GrannyKate 👏 a very productive day 🙂 I am awarding you a Gold Star ⭐️ for reaching 535/2023 🙂 Sorry to hear you missed your history meeting 😔 Good luck putting the desk together quickly & easily🍀
Nearly finished my coffee & as time is running away with me I will sign off now & come back later 👋

@Florenceem hugs again. Re the utilities it may not be ideal but if you can ring from there and you think Mr F can say yes or for the hospital to confirm he is there they may talk to him. With my dad who was profoundly deaf I phoned and on loudspeaker they heard me repeat to him ' they are asking if I can talk to them on your behalf ' and they heard him say yes and then talked to me. I realise this may be possible however these circumstances must arise for many others and the hospital should have a social worker or others who could help. Either setting him up as a vulnerable customer and allowing you to talk to them , ideally both.

@Florenceem you will also need to start the process of accessing money other than just your state pension - maybe the bank MrF uses can be a starting point to tell you what you need to do?2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

@Florenceem
MrF does seem to have some times when he's better than others. Go to the hospital prepared with a note (typed if possible) that states "I give authority for my wife <Florenceem> to deal with my accounts on my behalf at all times." The trick then is to get him to sign it. He might do that simply if asked or you might need to convince him or try a couple of times. Add to that the home address and the date and you should be good to go.
It's not as good as a Power of Attorney but will enable you to deal with the bills and redirect some things into an account you can access. We use a similar thing when helping people at the food bank deal with their bills, debt, banks etc. Feel free to PM me if you need more help on this at all. My dad had delirium too for about 8 or 9 days. Amongst other things he was convinced he'd swallowed his hearing aid and had everyone checking his throat. When he got to hospital he was adamant all the nurses were wearing wigs and false noses. He conned a nurse into bending close by pretending he couldn't hear her then went to grab her 'wig'. Luckily my brother was there and cottoned on and grabbed his hand with lightning reactions. We apologised and said how out of character it was for him. The nurses of course had seen it all before. For us it was very sad seeing a person so very different to their normal character. .
Florenceem it would probably be helpful to get your name added to as many of the main utilities as you can. Take your charger to the hospital as you may be on calls a while and make sure you've plenty credit on it.

So I did go into Lewisham - set off at 13:30 🥳 Dropped off the box of old coins & a bag of summer clothes (that DSis sorted last year 😬) into BHF. Posted a letter then DLR past my usual stop, in order to visit MrA where I picked up my monthly magazine, a sliced loaf & treated myself to a new colander & a small frying pan 😅 Back indoors by 15:25 having missed 2 calls from DH 😔 First message was just about audible - he was on his way to last landmark + no news about G + had picked up a couple of Bakewell Tarts 😊 Second message was practically inaudible but I think he is on his way home 😉🤞DSis made me coffee when I got in & I have updated my accounts notebook. I was very lucky whilst I was out, as although the wind picked up it didn’t rain 🥳
Now, flushed with success, I will resume cheerleading 😉
Florenceem, how lovely that the SA are holding a prayer meeting for MrF this evening 😊 I am also very pleased to hear that you are accepting lifts from friends & family to visit MrF as far less tiring than using public transport 🙂 I can see reading TC77’s post on page 369 that there might be help available re sorting out the utility bills situation 🤞 I am in a similar position to you as DH pays all the bills except the TV license & Sky TV. Dreading it, but your distressing situation has highlighted our need to set aside a week or so to sort out all our financial affairs 😔 Hugs to both you & MrF
Just broke off from writing as I realised my stomach was grumbling - now I have a tummy full of egg sandwich 😋
Moorviews, thank you for your kind thoughts re DH’s niece. DH has just phoned to let me know he will be back home about 18:30 & to let me know that G is drowsy but awake & talking 😊 A lovely supportive post 👏 Excellent decluttering & tidying away 👏 Very pleased to hear that you spent some time sewing 🙂 You must be very fast if you have made a top 🙂 although I think you are a bit too late to enter The Great British Sewing Bee this year - unless you are already a contestant 😉
-taff, very pertinent comments about football fans & policing 🤔 Hope you managed to get the lawn cut & we’re not thwarted by the weather 🤞
Excellent decluttering wort 👏 Hope your washing dried outside 🤞
Wednesday2000, interesting information 🧐 not something I had ever heard of.
Well done on keeping up with the decluttering Florenceem 👏 So lovely that you are getting plenty of support from your Church family 😊
bit_by_bit, I think the metal men must ‘sniff out’ when metal is available 😅 A lovely post - both supportive & informative 👏 Sounds like you had a lovely holiday with your friends 😊 DH was around that area today & did pop into a shop to buy Bakewell Tarts 🥳 Good luck sorting frogs & I hope you manage to get to the allotment to plant your spuds 🍀
Wednesday2000, Thanks for that information re delirium 👏 Every day is a learning day 🙂
Thanks for the link Blue_Doggy 👏
TC77, thank you for such very useful information & for sharing it with us 👏 It does highlight the need to sort out my financial situation 😔
Floss thank you for your input as well 👏 Hopefully the bank have a dedicated member of staff for such situations 🤞
An excellent suggestion Brie 👏 Just thinking that it might be a good idea to get someone to witness it as well 🤔
More excellent suggestions daisy_1571 👏 and thank you for sharing your experiences 👏😊
Flowers are on their way to all our ‘declutterati’ 💐 Your kindness & support is a blessing 😊
See you all later.

daisy_1571 - what caused your Dad's delirium.
Mr F knew me today but was still saying strange things.
When I got there - he was being got ready to go for a full body MRI. I prayed that he complied so it could go ahead - they had given him a sedative to keep him calm.
After the MRI - they told the nurse and I that he was to have a CT scan of his chest and abdomen. I spent practically all the visiting time going to the different departments and waiting his turn and then waiting for a porter to take him back to the ward. Lovely nurse got me a cup of tea when we finally arrived back in his ward. Now I wonder how long until the lumbar punch is done and results come through. I was taken to the hospital by my neighbour and brought home by my daughter. We were later as she had a staff meeting so traffic was bad.
I am too tired to go to the prayer meeting at SA tonight.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Hugs Florenceem. My mil had delirium caused by infection. Mr F is in safe hands and it sounds like the hospital are being very thorough in their investigations. Once they know what they are dealing with we can all be reassured that he will get the best treatment. It is a very trying time for the both of you. ❤️A little while back I wrote down all our passwords for everything just for the eventuality of one of us being incapacitated.Mr SD has had a lovely day to visit the area today. Perfect for motorbike riding. We were talking about motor bikes yesterday with our friend. I had bikes when I was young. I was quite sad to realise that I will probably never ride a motorbike again. 😢
Vulpix towers estate is looking much tidier after a trip to the tip again. Someone is coming for the giant concrete slabs tomorrow. They have been told several times they are massive and heavy, also up some steps. We shall see if Jeff Capes turns up.Another bag of stuff taken to the church shop today.Numbers include some large items like a vintage wooden school desk and two chairs, donated back to the school I used to work at. My Mum worked there for 30 years before me and bought them in the 70’s when they got new Formica tables.New total 241
