Florenceem sending hugs , does your gp surgery offer counseling? It can be helpful for some, just to get stuff out with someone not involved. XxxFocus on contribution instead of the impressiveness of consumption to see the true beauty in people.16

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks to include MMiM - do this before I go to bed
2. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ I have an acronym - I.R.I.S. being Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off -
3. Implement a new sleep/wake up regime - start going to bed earlier (target before 2:00 a.m.) get up earlier (target by 9:00 a.m.)
4. Deal with ‘Urgent’ daily mail immediately & the rest at the weekend
5. Don’t put it down, put it away
6. If I spot a mini task deal with it immediately e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
7. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
DH got back 16:45 having done over 12,000 steps after walking back from Lewisham. He was soaked through to his undies even though he had managed to get undercover during the absolute worse part of the downpour. He had a coffee & croissant in the Greenwich Park cafe & needed to remortgage the house 🤣 Whilst he was out I managed to write & address all the cards apart from one - person might be moving before card due 😉 Just one card left to buy & write. Only took 4.5 x 23 minutes (including writing a cheque & several cards written in French or German) 🙂 Very pleased with myself as last year it took me 4 months 😉 I had a bowl of hm soup for lunch. Dinner was bacon, toast & beans for DSis, I had the same with 2 fried eggs & DH had a bowl of soup. Mine & DSis’s was not particularly healthy but DH’s was 😉 Wudupa.
Re DH’s walking challenge - he walked 223km over the month & raised £1,340 for Prostate Cancer Research - I am so very, very proud of him 🥹 DH has decided to keep up with the walking - about 7,000 steps per day with one day a week out & about & walking 10,000 steps at least. The other rather marvellous decision he has made is to do the challenge again next year 🤩 DSis made DH an award & gave him a present - a pencil sharpener in the shape of a motorcycle 😊 I just gave him a hug 🤗😉

You are very welcome dND 🙂 Sorry to hear that your visit to the U.K. resulted in you being unwell on your return to France 😔 Great work mowing the grass - one medal 🏅 coming your way 🙂 I didn’t know that about the returns policy in France - no wonder there were so many boxes when we sorted mum’s farmhouse 🙄 Sorry to hear that the solicitor is working to Italian time - you know ‘I will sort it tomorrow’ 😅 😉 Hope you enjoy your bottle of fizz & a bit of time in the TLC Carriage 😊 Then you will be raring to go starting Monday 🙂
Florenceem, pleased to hear that you managed to get MrF out of the house again on Friday & kept him away from the office 😊
Lovely supportive post retiredinfrance 😊 I rather like that definition of MMiM - Minimising Magazines in March & you were so successful that I am awarding you a medal 🏅 Excellent decluttering 👏 I rather like Admin Action in April 🤔

Congratulations to DH for his walking challenge 🥇 @MrsSD - what a great amount raised for charity!
I'm so sorry to hear about your struggles. @Florenceem - I hope that DH does decide to get some help - in the meantime at least make sure you are fully resourced and supported while you support him. 🙏💕

Thank you for the medal @MrsSD and congratulations to DH on his walking challenge and future plans.
Well done @vulpix on the big declutter, it must be good seeing the space.
Hugs to you and hubby @florenceem in what is a difficult time. I know from my own experience that sometimes you have to break completely before you can put yourself back together. It’s just the nature of some of us to keep battling on until the very end.
I’m not sure what I’m going to do today. It’s too damp to mow any more grass and the house is a tip as I can’t decide on the best way forward. I think my best bet is a slow day with a lot of pottering whilst I figure out what order to do things – I want to do A but B needs to be done first and that needs C moved which needs D……… if you get my gist. I’ve finally begun to realise that sometimes less is more and I get far more permanently achieved if I’m relaxed than if I do it hurriedly and stressed.
Have a good day everyone.

Hugs to all who need them. Dealing with a few frogs before I go to SIL for a few days. Will take laptop so may do some posting. Need a large envelope for posting legal frog so will need to go and get one. Car is blocked in by DS2 van - I could walk or get him up.
478 Legal frog done and dusted and emails off. Hard copy needs posting this morning.
479 Paid smallish debit on energy bill and told them what I am willing to pay on DD - the figure they were asking for was ridiculously high and they did not take into account 5 months of dehumidifiers running through this winter.
480 Caught up on competitions and surveys.
Right I am going to put clean washing away, get dressed and get stuff out to pack. Need a suitcase from loft but DS2 can get that down

Morning All
@Liverpool_Anne hope you have a lovely break. Packing for a weekend is harder as you still need most things just less clothes than a longer break.
@Mrs_Salad_Dodger, Mr SD had done amazingly well with his walking challenge. 👏
DD is now on half term, we are off into town to do a free Easter craft workshop. Various appointments and playdates next week then Easter and holiday on 11th. Really need to start packing and be organised. I have blood tests on same day as our flights so going to be a bit tight for time but doable. DSD is now joining us on holiday along with her GCSE revision notes.
Just realised the time and need to be out by 10am. OH still snoring so best wake him with a cuppa. (He makes me a cuppa every week morning so only fair I return the favour!)

Just popping by. I'm struggling to keep up with the thread. I'm still managing to deal with my emails daily and keep on top of my finances. We've got a new freezer coming tomorrow so I'm cooking up loads of stuff from the freezer. I got loads off by going through an NHS discount warehouse snd saved £120 including recycling my old one. So much decluttering is going on of my freezer contents. Yesterday I decluttered some material into a pair of track suit bottoms. I did order some new material to make some stretch dresses for a grand total of £16.49 including postage. I tend to do the same pattern in several colours, particularly if it suits me.
Have a fabulous day all.17 -
You're all doing so well
I am pleased that I am able to continue in my quest to declutter- albeit at a rather slow pace! DD is sorting out her bedroom this morning, which is good to see!

I’ve just realised it is now April, so have totted up my March declutters. 29 out of 31, including late entries of 10 story cds (DD’s declutter, but I will take the credit for putting them under her nose!) and 2 more books. As I am counting groups of items as 1, I’m not beating myself up too much for not making the full 31 in March. 12 MMiMs achieved - less than hoped, but more than if @Dfw38 hadn’t suggested the challenge 😊. I really need to do the April Admin challenge too…
Well done to Mr S_D on his walking and fundraising achievement! @Mrs_Salad_Dodger, it sounds as if you and I went to school very close to each other 😉.
Hugs to all, especially to @Florenceem.17 -
Well done Mr SD - I duly award him a medal 🏅.Behind on everything and not much decluttering going on as work got really busy and has just taken over. I'm just seeing it as a temporary pause until I get a bit more time. Will have a look around this weekend to see if there are any obvious things to go. I am still very slowly going through the bedroom, digital clutter and then I still have lots of other areas that are on the long list to tackle. Will try and clean the dishwasher this weekend as well.11,088-11,135 - emails permanently deleted
