Hi all - short post as lots to do today and tomorrow then off for short break down South.
467 DS2 legal frog written but need to change again today following discussion with DS1 - next job this morning
468 Giving myself a point for second swim of the week - I was going to have a shower yesterday morning and then I thought - go swimming and use their electricity - weight stubbornly sticking at half a stone off
469-470 Started the day with 20 - 'don't put it down put it away' wins
471 General tat binned or recycled where possible
472 Updated childcare records and printed out April-June timetable.
Checked to see if Nationwide had paid me any shopping cash back yet as saw it has started being paid - max £10 for February - nothing in my account yet. Only managed £66.20 extra cash earnings this month but I did get £9.39 in MrAm vouchers (used for birthday cake candles and towards salt for water softener) and my £150 Vistaprint prize voucher. I have MrT vouchers set aside for my rail card but must remember to change them in time before value goes down mid June.
DGD2 (14) has decided to come with me and small people for our short caravan break after Easter. Will send DD some dates for potential stay at hers in summer holidays with children.
Right action - no lounging in TLC carriage until jobs done.2025 Decluttering Campaign 697/2025 🏅🏅🏅🏅(🏅🏅) 🌟🌟

Right that's it! this laptop will be decluttered today! The posts I have lost recently, congratulating and commiserating and cheering on children off on adventures. New laptop came yesterday,it is charging as we speak.
The stuff from the half shed was brought in from the garden ,and all has been claimed and due to be collected throughout the day. I will not be sorry to see the back of DS's big leather chair that we have hauled around with us for years. (btw, that was a fb purchase from what looked like a crack den! you get allsorts) The new to us chair is Parker Knoll. In very good condition. It won't take a lot of work. The previous owner would like a photo of it restored. I imagine it had belonged to his parents.
Mr V about to have a telephone consultation with MIL's solicitor. You couldn't make it up. Her solicitor who wrote her will. unusually closed down and the business was picked up by a firm in Scotland.
I am surprised at my decluttering numbers. I honestly thought I would struggle this year as I imagined we were pared down to the bone after a huge downsize. I think I am being more ruthless. the more that goes the easier it is. Emptying MIL's house has helped. It really wasn't a huge job but just so sad.I would like my house to be easy to clear. My Mother's house will be a different story, not a hoarder but ready for Justin, but Justin never called. I think much more sad. The things kept, taking up space and becoming useless in storage. My Mum being ill and some random bloke living in her house has concentrated my mind. I have given up the idea of ever having a car boot sale again,so as I identify something it can go,I don't need to keep it to try to sell. That is a big shift for me.
DS and DIL visiting on Monday for a few days. The plan to collect our stuff from my Mum's house. Erm, DS has properly damaged his shoulder playing Rugby. It does mean an end to him playing. He has so many injuries from it,a broken finger which will never heal etc, etc. he is heartbroken,he is team captain and it is a very big part of his life. Don't know that being beaten up every Saturday would be part of my life!
Gotta go, toot to give a way. Vx:19 -
I opened the loft closet of Doom 😦 I was looking for LO summer school uniform as she needs it after Easter.I also found 12 rolls of sellotape - I should add that I ran out 2 weeks ago and looked “everywhere “ but couldn’t find any 🙄. So now I found it. I mentioned we went to see frozen the musical last week - did I say it was to use up the theatre vouchers I found whilst looking for the sellotape? Lucky they don’t have an expiry date as we received them in 2015 🤪. I found a John Lewis voucher Sadly that expired…
I also found expired pharmacy stuff in the loft closet. It must have been there since we moved house before LO was born.I got one bag of clothes LO has grown out of. I was packing for holiday (next week) and realised her sun hats are too small and a few other bits and pieces. Oh well I am half packed now!
I also found some old bedding hiding ina drawer. It hasn’t been used for quite a few years so it’s gone to fabric recycling.
I got soaked taking the 3 bags to pharmacy charity shop and recycling but it’s out the house already so very pleased.Love to all, hope there are brighter days coming ☀️20 -
@Mrs_Salad_Dodger luckily it just gave me a shock as they went with a huge bang.
Hopefully you're all having a dryer day than me! Was shouted by DS1 10 minutes before my alarm went off to say that one of the dogs had had a wee all over the kitchen floor. Told him there was some towels in the dog cupboard, to throw them on and I'd come and sort it (he was leaving for work) he said it won't work its everywhere. I came down to my entire kitchen floor looking like a skate rink! 🤢
Cleaned it best I could with the towels, threw tge dog beds outside and messaged DH to bring new ones.
Started sorting the girls lunches and DS2 came down saying he thinks his trousers are wet (he's done so well at being dry for months) so sent him to get changed and then stripped his bed.
Then DH went up to bed and messaged me to say one of them had completely missed tge toilet and the seat and floor was wet through......
So once DD3 had left for school (dd2 has refused all week) I've completely scrubbed the kitchen floor, put the dog bowls (that had been on the floor) in the dishwasher and put them a new bed down. Lots of washing done but airer is now full. And I've been trying to sort through all the stuff in the room that has come out of the conservatory. 2 bin liners of clothes for DH to take with him to put in the charity bin and listed a couple of dresses on fb and vint@d.
Just sat with a cup of tea while DD2 has shown me her huge rock collection and now I've sent her up to do a whole project on them (she's trying her best to convince me to home educate her) while I have a few minutes before carrying on with the living room as it's all been neglected while I was doing the conservatory.LBM in April 17 - Starting card debt £33554

Have you checked with John Lewis about the expired vouchers? There is legal precedence that, because they represent money, they cannot expire, however much the company wants to write them off their books.

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks to include MMiM - do this before I go to bed
2. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ I have an acronym - I.R.I.S. being Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off -
3. Implement a new sleep/wake up regime - start going to bed earlier (target before 2:00 a.m.) get up earlier (target by 9:00 a.m.)
4. Deal with ‘Urgent’ daily mail immediately & the rest at the weekend
5. Don’t put it down, put it away
6. If I spot a mini task deal with it immediately e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
7. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Friday I was up & dressed just before 12:00. It is a damp drizzly day & the last day of DH’s walking challenge 🥳 I am so, so proud of him 🥹 & yes I did sponsor him 😉 My plan for today is to catch up on the missed days of MMiM by completing project ‘Writing birthday cards’ - I have 32 + need to buy one more which I somehow missed off my list 😔 As MMiM was/is such a great idea I am continuing & will write up a list of MMiA or maybe I could call it AAiA - Active Actions in April 😉 then go back to MMiM for May 😅 I am easily distracted so I might also be pondering about JJiJ for June, July & January 🤔; SSiS, OOiO, NNiN & DDiD for September, October, November & December 🤣 That would just leave FFiF 🤔 That is enough of that 🤪
A bit of cheerleading before I start the card writing & a couple of Sand Art photos 😉 P.S. DH has just set off (13:49) & the rain has stopped 🙂
So lovely to see you dND 👋 Hope you enjoyed your time in the TLC Carriage & took advantage of the newly added ‘Pet Cuddling Area’ 😊 Such excellent news 🥳 I well remember all the stress of selling up in France, as their system works on the principle of ‘caveat venditor’ as opposed to ‘caveat emptor’ Absolutely everything that can be crossed is being crossed 🤞 All I can say is that all your ‘decluttering training’ should stand you in good stead & I wish you ‘oodles’ of luck over the next 3 months 🍀 as well as an endless supply of energy to help you through the manic period 😊 I am so excited for you 😆Hopefully your “un Vide-Greniers” will be hugely successful 🤞
Got distracted when making a 2nd cuppa - kitchen floor swept, tea bag container refilled (no empty tea bags 👏) Pans put away.
Excellent decluttering & dealing with frogs GrannyKate 👏 How lovely that DGD2 will be accompanying you on your short caravan break 😊
vulpix, hopefully your new laptop will be charged soon & then comes your next MMiM of transferring all relevant data from old laptop to new one 😉 Before you consign your old laptop to the ‘great scrapyard in the sky’ 😂 How lovely that the previous owner would like a photo of the renovated rocking chair 😊Hope MrV’s call goes well 🤞 I am awarding you a medal 🏅 for the change in mindset - it should make decluttering your mum’s home easier - no deferred decisions 😊 So sorry to hear about DS’s rugby injury & that it now means the end of his playing days 😔 I am definitely in agreement that getting beaten up every weekend would not be part of my life 😱 It sounds as if once DS has recovered from his injury, he will need to find some other physical activity to take the place of rugby - something less injurious to his health & body 🤞
D123456789, oops to the tale of the sellotape 🙊 but I think we have all probably been there & done that with various items 😉 Excellent decluttering of the ‘loft closet of Doom’ 👏 I see a visit to CS in your immediate future - to hopefully replace ‘too small’ items of clothing so that you can finish packing for your holiday next week 🙂 Fingers crossed for your idea of perfect holiday weather 🤞
Oh crikey, the heavens have opened 🌧️ My poor DH 😔 I hope he has managed to find a nice cafe to sit down in 🤞I was really, really hoping that the sun would shine for him on his last day of his walking challenge 😭 Thankfully it is his last day as I am not so sure he would have succeeded if it had been the first day 🙄
charlies_tribe, very pleased to hear that there were no injuries when the boxes attacked you 😮💨 Oh 🤢to the skating rink in your kitchen 🤢 I hope the ‘offending’ dog is OK 👍 At least with DH pointing out that the bathroom also needs a clean 🤢, you have now had your 3 bad experiences which will now be balanced out by three successful & good experiences 🙏🤞🙏 Your DD2 sounds like a cheeky & very intelligent young lady 😉 Good luck with explaining that home schooling is not on the cards for her as you cannot create a a 32 hour day out of the usual 24 hour day 😉😊
Siebrie, great suggestion for D123456789 re the ‘expired’ JL vouchers 👏 Definitely worth a try🤞
Excellent decluttering Soontobeoap 👏 Not only do I love your art gallery but the door is beautiful 😻
Now I will settle down to writing cards 🙂
See everyone later.
