@Florenceem
I'm guessing that MrF is either trying to sell or otherwise wind up a business. I wonder if there's any like minded people on MSE that he could chatter with - like us here but older self employed/business types? Might be easier than talking to someone he actually knows IRL. Just a thought.
I think it's lovely to know that you both have the support of SA. I don't call myself Christian (or anything else for that matter) but the organisation I work for is and it was comforting to have people say they were praying for me and my OH when he was in the hospital. Like people here send their best wishes. I'm in a facebook group and members send "vibes" when someone needs a bit of a boost for whatever reason.
Meanwhile on our decluttering front - the old boiler is gone!!! So heat and hot water has been restored. Boiler chap managed to smash a tile at the edge of the roof (how?) but pointed it out, arranged a roofer friend to come and sort it and said don't pay until I know it had been done. How nice is that? Many would, I suspect, sneak off not mentioning anything but this guy is a long time 1 man band who has now brought his son into the business so no doubt wants to ensure it all continues well into the future. The problem with all of this however has been us looking up at the roof (which is relatively new & sound) and realised that all the guttering needs at least a tidy if not a complete overhaul. I'm going to see if I can track down the roofer friend to see if he can help - I didn't get his card as it was tipping down when he came to do the repair - but again that proves someone who is willing to work so he's someone I'd like to at least get a quote from if possible.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. Thank you so much for my medal , Mrs SD, much appreciated. Congratulations to MrSD- that is a spectacular result and well done to him for keeping going through all that bad weather.
I made a mistake yesterday with my total - two too many but I found two bits of cardboard while decluttering the bottom of the hall cupboard. I also found two bottles of good wine in the cardboard so it is now in the drink’s cupboard in the kitchen . A win-win - like with like and decluttered cardboard.Total still is165/365
Hugs for everyone and keep safe. Some excellent advice just now for Florenceem from Brie.15 -
Well done MrSD!@Florenceem best wishes for you and MrF
I think I’ve discovered one of the things that’s slowing me up: I am reluctant (why???*) to finish the paperwork, because I’ve told myself that I must do it before I tackle the rest of the gubbins, and for some reason I don’t seem to want to do it. So, I must ignore the paperwork for a while and actually do other things (doesn’t matter where I start, there’s plenty to be done). Then maybe I can creep up on the paperwork from behind (as it were) and do some more of it.
Recluttered
- Birthday, Get Well, and Sympathy cards as the stash is running very low
- Easter Chocs for Dsister, Dnieces & DGnephews (May turn into more failed gifts if I decide to have Easter things sent from online)
Not much more decluttering done since my last post:- last Get Well card sent to my Dsister who is unwell with an, so-far-in-spite-of-tests, undiagnosed respiratory ailment
- large plastic delivery sack repurposed for household rubbish
- full and unopened carton of banana milk pulled out of hedge opposite my drive and binned (my neighbour’s hedge, but not where they can easily see it, but in my eyeline whenever I leave my house).I’ve been too worried about my Dsister to do much, sadly I comfort-ate from the worry. She lives 3 hours’ drive away, and thankfully has her husband, and two daughters nearby to help her, so my help not needed just now.* partly because I feel guilty - just parking that there for a while till I can look at it again. I used to be really organised with it, but no longer am“Tomorrow is another day for decluttering.”Decluttering 2023 🏅🏅🏅🏅⭐️⭐️

Went to help at prayer breakfast at SA this morning.
Persuaded Mr F to go out again between bouts of rain - we took 3 bags of my decluttering to a charity shop. I did manage to get him to have a quick chat with our officer outside the hall - he couldn't face inside as really noisy and busy.
Been busy dealing with clients this afternoon. All but one were lovely and very understanding. One insists on speaking to Mr F when she returns from a weekend away. I will see how he feels about a telephone conversation on Monday - I don't want him to be upset by a stroppy woman.
I woke at 3.45 am to visit the bathroom and he hit me with another problem - then I couldn't get back to sleep.Day 1 –

Evening. Not much managed over the last 2 days. I've been pretty lazy. Meter readings submitted (dreading this month as our deal has now finished). Started logging all payments from March. And the breastpump I listed on the free site was collected earlier (my youngest is 13! And I still have another yet). I've listed a dress on sites each night. Just had first offer on one but going to wait a little while to see if anyone offers what it's listed for.
Well done to MrSD! I've averaged 2900 steps a day this moth and I'm exhausted 🤣 so glad he's enjoyed doing it that he's going to continue the walking.
I'll hopefully get back on track tomorrow and get that conservatory tackled again.

I have no idea what was up with me today but I've been a bit of a Zombie all day. (I don't think the weather helped) I did a bit of tidying and even some decluttering but I really didn't make the most of my day - I didn't even enjoy resting. Anyhoo - feel a bit better now. I had my CBT appointment but it was a bit "meh!" - but then so was I

Hi there, still here. Spending most of the week working on writing my book alternating with indexing the records from a parish in Switzerland. Still managed to get five boxes of books to the library. And spend time sorting them out. Have about 10 boxes worth at the library ready to go to our local jail on Monday. Also took three bags of food to the neighbors. There are at least ten people in their family. The roommate who hasn't had a job until this year for the last 8 years has been working almost every day. Two other roommates are off on medical leave (one goes back next week). Our neighbor took pity on us with our lawn and came over and mowed half of our front lawn (grass was over a foot high). Most of the rest of the yard is weeds and hopefully will get cut down tomorrow as will the weeds in the back yard. We still have one more day of rain forecast. Then we can start our normal spring, I hope. Need to start spring cleaning by sweeping and mopping the whole house - at least the part that can be reached.
Still in classes (4) and working at the Family History Center also (3 times a week). Found that a friend could use the chalk we have in a box so it is on its way tomorrow (about 150 pieces of chalk left by old roommate).
Wishing all a better week. Hugs to those with problems.18 -

Saturday 1st April 😱 What happened to the first three months of 2023 🤔 I was up & dressed by 11:00. DH was already up as he is off out @ 15:00 for a meet up with this years Round Britain Rally bikers. They are meeting up at a cafe on Sunday for the Annual Rally Start Event - I will leave everyone to work out what it is abbreviated to 🤣 He will be stopping at an hotel overnight as they start early & it is too far to get to without setting off at a ridiculous hour 😉
15:15 DH has left - he has an overnight bag & is fully kitted out in his motorcycle gear. I made sure he is warm inside as well - we each had a bowl of hm soup for lunch. DH phoned 17:30 - he had made good time & was checked in & had booked dinner & breakfast. He was drinking coffee & watching MotoGP qualifying. No rain but he was rather cold so was intending to have a hot shower before going to dinner. Apart from sorting todays mail, I have done nothing but watch TV & doze on & off all day. Dinner is going to be hm cottage pie with cauliflower. Wudupa.
P.S. DH phoned again at 20:25. He had a lovely dinner but his 2nd pint almost put him to sleep 😉 He was back in his room & thought that he would probably be asleep before 21:00 🙂

EnergyShifter, Friday’s lunch sounds lovely 😊 Hope today’s CBT went well 🙂 Great decluttering ratio 1:4 👏 I will add DH’s medal 🥇 to his current totals.
Lovely supportive post dND 😊 A pottering day sounds perfect giving you the opportunity to decide where to start & how to proceed 👏
Great work dealing with frogs, GrannyKate 👏 Hope you have a lovely time with SIL😊
Fizz2015, hope you enjoy your daughter’s play dates 😉 and that all your appointments go well. You must be so looking forward to your holiday - somewhere warm I hope 🤞
Excellent decluttering of freezer contents Madbat60 👏 Well done on keeping up with your emails & on top of your finances 🙂 Any chance of a photo of one of your home sewn dresses 🙏
Excellent decluttering Millie2008_2 👏 Congratulations on getting DD on board as well 👏🥳
Excellent decluttering Fayolle 👏 Well done on your MMiM also 👏 and Good Luck with your Admin (AAiA) 🍀 (one school on Wokingham Road & one on London Road 😉)
Thank you for MrSD’s medal 🏅, QueenJess 😊 Great decluttering even though work has been so busy 👏
Brie, what a lovely idea for Florenceem to ponder 😊 Yippee to new boiler, hot water & heating 🥳 What a lovely boiler chap & also finding a roofer who does a good job 🤩
You are welcome retiredinfrance 😊 DH was really lucky with the weather - only a couple of days of rain, mostly just very cold 😮💨 That is the sort of treasure I would like to find - a couple of bottles of wine 😉
Blue_Doggy, your reluctance re paperwork is matched by my reluctance which takes the form of not keeping in touch with family & friends because I don’t want to intrude on their busy lives 🙄 Then I feel guilty for having left it so long to contact them & so it goes 😔 Not sure what the answer is but I am positive that we will both make progress 🤞So sorry to hear that your DSister is so unwell & also that you are so worried - hugs to you both 🤗
Great decluttering bit_by_bit 👏 Hope you enjoyed your evening of crocheting 🙂
Florenceem, good news that you managed to persuade MrF to leave the house & that he also managed a conversation with an SA officer 🙂 Well done on dealing with MrF’s clients. As to the woman who insists on speaking to MrF what an inconsiderate b…. 😖 So very sorry that life is so hard at the moment.
charlies_tribe, not lazy just conserving energy 🙂 Good luck with your listings 🍀 Your 2,900 steps a day is probably about 1,400 a day more than I am managing 😉 Hopefully the contents of your conservatory will refrain from attacking you again 🤞
EnergyShifter, you might have felt like a bit of a Zombie today but you managed a good amount of decluttering 👏
Lovely to see you weenancy 😊 I was beginning to wonder where you were 😉 I should have known that you were busy working on your book, collecting & sorting books, delivering food & taking care of your roommates 👏😊 Lovely to hear that your neighbour has been mowing your lawn & will be tackling the clearance of weeds 👏🙂 I do hope you are taking care of yourself & that your shoulder is getting better 🤞 Big hugs coming your way 🤗

Good afternoon from a very cold (but overcast) Isle of Dogs 🥶 So far I have resisted the temptation to put the heating on 😉 I was up about 10:00 this morning but all I have done is one load of washing which is now in the td. I just cannot seem to get going at all even though there is plenty to do 😔 No sign of DSis yet although she has been up at some point because her teacup is no longer in the cupboard 😅
I will be back later, hopefully having done something or should that be anything 😂
Have a great Sunday everyone & hugs all round 🤗
