Thank you Mrs SD
Continuing with small steps today, partially because I came back from the UK with a head cold and chest infection – one of the joys of 10 days on public transport after living in the middle of nowhere for so long. And partly because after nigh on 2 weeks away the grass was about 10in high and I have spent 2 days mowing already.
As it’s very windy today, no outside work being done. Out have gone old garden seat pads that I use in pairs to cover the indoor chairs from the cat’s wet and muddy paws in winter. Humans could lift up the upper one and sit on the second one which was usually dry and clean. They were beyond being on their last legs.
Next up has been a few boxes - things like phones have come in. In France the returns policies frequently state that should you need to return anything it has to be in all it’s original packaging! Net result I put all the packaging to one side, just in case, and promptly forgot about everything as there is just so much space in the farmhouse and barn.
Far too much time has been spent on the computer – chasing the solicitor for a moving date, trying to get a quote for cat transport which might be cheaper than me training back to buy a car, drive it over and then drive the cats back and trying to find removal companies that still have space in June but until I get a date I can’t commit to anything.
But today is Friday and I’m opening a bottle of something fizzy to celebrate. Not much else is going to get done tonight apart from the basics of emptying and refilling the dishwasher etc. 😁
I look forward to being inspired by what everyone else is achieving.❤️
Love to you all.

Wet day here.
I popped to SA for a fleeting visit this morning.
Mr F is usually someone who goes out every day for fresh air. As I said - yesterday was the first time out for a week - today I got him to come out with me to the local shopping centre. While he is away from the office - so much better.
Only a couple of bits gone today.
I haven't managed this month's total but was over in January and February so okay about it. Onwards and upwards.Day 31

Hugs for you, Florenceem and MrF. As Mrs SD had suggested, and apologies if I am wrong, could someone from the SA give you both some support? Is there any way of getting respite from the office?Dfw, like others here I too was moved by your post and the rapport between you and your brother. Sending you and your daily hugs and indeed to everyone who needs or would like some.
I slightly misunderstood MMiM and took it to be, for me, Mininising Magazines in March. I also added another challenge of decluttering 23 . Yes, target reached and overshot so I added another one of only having magazines in the magazine box and nowhere else. Success again and still room in the box. I’m thinking of going for Admin Action in April as the tax return has to be done for Nay and I can get more admin paper out.I couldn’t sleep last night and was musing like you Mrs SD on the AA in A and the MMiMay another possible one , but the two JJ s got me stuck .Totals
30 magazines taken to CS this morning
1 pile rubbish from a drawer
7 plastic plant pots to bin
6 bonne Mummy jam jars to CS - seems they are much prized.
3 DH hankies to rag recycling
6 books.
Total =53+112=167/365
Keep safe everyone.16 -
Vulpix, love the chair and chest. I spent many hours stripping ancient paint from cheaply bought furniture at auctions that I haven’t the heart to paint anything.
Like you , I have given up the idea of selling off stuff at a brocante and decided to donate to CS as then someone else can have the thrill of acquiring something pretty as I once did. It would beat the soul- destroying spending a day to let the stuff go for a song.15 -
Decluttered a few more things since I last posted - 5 DVDs to my brother as he still has a DVD player and I don't. I've others left but they're nice box sets I was given as gifts and I'm hesitating so far. I also went through the cards and some other bits of my mother's - she used to have a big pinboard of postcards and celebration cards from family members up in the hall, including some with photos, and I took them all after she died. Finally, seven years later, I've picked the nicest and stuck them in my album with washi tape and let the rest go. Also let her old bus pass, address books and passport go and cut up all her old credit cards, union rep card etc - I know all the accounts were closed ages ago as I was executor, but I stalled on emptying her handbag and just put it all in a box for when I was ready. Pleased it's done now.
In - washi tape, a dress, some notebooks from the Africa fashion exhibition at the V&A (they're lovely but were a totally irrational purchase. I really don't need more notebooks, I have dozens) some 10cm by 10cm canvases, a book of short detective stories and a three way adaptor plug.

diminua, well done in letting your Mum's things go. I imagine I will have the same difficulty in the future.
JJ jettison junk?
Thank you for my medal Mrs SD. That month went too fast with Mr SD's challenge even with a dramatic interlude. What a trooper. I would like to award him a perseverance medal for his endeavours.
All but the leather chair gone. That is being collected Sunday as we are busy tomorrow. Mr V going to work at 5am and probably back before I come round. Then off to look at bathroom stuff at a place the plumber has recommended in Stoke on Trent.
love to all Vx:16 -
Mr F won't talk to anyone on the phone and doesn't want visitors - I can't push him to do these. We are getting prayer support from SA and offers of any help we need. Mr F wouldn't be able to cope with anyone trying to sort out the business apart from me and that is hard going. As I sort one thing - more crops up.
Someone I spoke to today who has known Mr F for 40 years said that he thought that he hasn't been right for a couple of years. I have been trying to persuade him to retire for a while.
Big drama here tonight.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Hi all, bit of a mixed day here. OH kept popping in for mini breaks between lessons and we had a bit of a gab and catch up and OH had a destress rant over a particular pupil so things done in fits and starts. I did manage to get to the pharmacy to pick up my meds and I have started to organise for our little trip. I find it much harder to pack for a weekend than I do for a fortnight
. I have a list of what I need to throw in the bag tomorrow but as OH hasn't started to get sorted yet and is currently watching a film I am not expecting to be away early
@Florenceem hugs
Right off to bed now, up early tomorrow as I have my b12 jab before I do anything else and then we will be off as soon as we can. I will try to catch up but I probably won't be posting until we are back. Hugs to everyone who would like one and have a good weekend.
568 meds collected
Take care everyone
