Dfw, so sorry for your loss . As others have said , even if expected, it still is a shock. Look after yourself.13
-
Florenceem, thinking of you and MrF. Have you talked to your doctor, and sorry if I’m being presumptuous. Take care of yourself.13

@Dfw38 - I am very sorry to read that you have lost your dad and send my condolences to you and your family. Well done for making those difficult journeys in his last days and being a comfort to him xx
@Florenceem - It sounds extremely worrying for you with Mr F’s health at the moment. I hope that there is some treatment that can help and that there are friends and family to help support you both. Please take care of yourself xx14 -
1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks to include MMiM - do this before I go to bed
2. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ I have an acronym - I.R.I.S. being Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off -
3. Implement a new sleep/wake up regime - start going to bed earlier (target before 2:00 a.m.) get up earlier (target by 9:00 a.m.)
4. Deal with ‘Urgent’ daily mail immediately & the rest at the weekend
5. Don’t put it down, put it away
6. If I spot a mini task deal with it immediately e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
7. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Blue_Doggy, lovely supportive & cheerleading post 😊& great decluttering 👏
Lovely chatty post vulpix 😊 I am generally unaware of things like Ofsted inspections never having had children but I was both appalled & distressed at your mention of the head teacher who had committed suicide so googled it. I went to school in Reading, practically a stones throw from Caversham. I used to cycle to Caversham quite frequently. To me it sounds like Ofsted are not fit for purpose - surely it is not reasonable to downgrade a school from outstanding to inadequate on the basis of one visit - it absolutely beggars belief 😞 😠 😩 Whoever the inspectors were they should definitely be held up to public scrutiny & then held to account. Sorry will jump off my soapbox now 😔 Not only a skilled furniture renovator but a a skilled & imaginative craftswoman 🤩
Great digital decluttering QueenJess 👏
Fizz2015, sorry to hear that you need more time off work ☹️ but far better to recover fully than go back too soon. How lovely to have a holiday to look forward to & in Tenerife 😊
Great decluttering GrannyKate 👏 Hopefully DGS4 will have a better day on Thursday 🤞Good luck with DS2’s legal frog 🍀
Sadly, having started off with good intentions I am about to succumb to catching up the cheerleading in one fell swoop. I had been hoping that Spring would invigorate me but unfortunately the poor weather has had the opposite effect 😔

The child psychologist unexpectedly replied that she had a slot available for dd2 (11), so we went there yesterday afternoon. It's done dd2 good already; she has decided that she will join her class on the 5-day trip to the seaside at the end of the month.DD2 is very creative and intelligent; we have picked a technical secondary school for her. The school has the same 2 basic years for all pupils, and then diversifies into streams aiming for academic training, polytec training, or the workplace. Her current teacher was a bit surprised by our choice (because she thought we would pick a 'normal' secondary school with an 'art' option), but agreed wholeheartedly that this was a good option for dd2. It's nice to have the confirmation
DD2 will do an extra maths' test today, to confirm that she qualifies for extra maths' work. Based on her grades, she does, she just didn't want to. The teacher and us parents have agreed that this 'optional' business is ending now. She has the brains, she should use them.
I booked a physiotherapy session for myself on Saturday. My shoulder has been painful from November (that's when it got really painful; it was just 'annoying' in the 3 years before).I've deleted 300 emails.I have had a meeting with the Architect. We have simplified the downstairs renovation project, and they have found a Builder who is rather cheap and is happy to let us help as much as possible. The Builder will come and see our house in 3 weeks to see if he's happy to take on the project. If all goes well, he can start in September. Are you wombling, too, in '22? € 58,96 = £ 52.09Wombling in Restrictive Times (2021) € 2.138,82 = £ 1,813.15Wombabeluba 2020! € 453,22 = £ 403.842019's wi-wa-wombles € 2.244,20 = £ 1,909.46Wombling to wealth 2018 € 972,97 = £ 879.54Still a womble 2017 #25 € 7.116,68 = £ 6,309.50Wombling Free 2016 #2 € 3.484,31 = £ 3,104.5918 -
Big hugs to you @Florenceem
And to you @Dfw38. My heartfelt condolences.
@Mrs_Salad_Dodger I took my early decimal coins to the post office a few years agao nad the changed them for up toddate cash. My local bak takes all old and foreign coins for charitable purposes too. Good to know that they don't have to be binned.
A good day yesterday. I took GS3 to the garden centre and dropped 2 bags of books off onto the charity shelves.
I am about to head off to the allotments and deliver several crates (in and outs as they came with stuff from vulpix) and a bag of glass jars I hope. Will update signature when done.
Have a good day all. Big hugs and positive thoughts to those who need them.

Thank you all for your kind condolences and support, I will take you up on that lemon drizzle cake @QueenJess.
Dad went peacefully and not in pain, unfortunately none of us could get there in time but I think he would have preferred it that way. I am thankful that my last memory of dad is reading to him on Sunday with dad holding my hand so tight the whole way through. I am a mix of emotions, absolutely heartbroken but also relieved for him that he is no longer in pain and missing mum. They are together now, which was always the way they were. Just in the process of planning the funeral, it will be small but meaningful.
I felt a strange sense of peace (almost feels out-of place considering the circumstances) after talking to my brother and sister last night that he will no longer grieve the twins that mum and dad lost in 1985. It was something that although they never let affect us as kids, they never really got over the grief of the loss understandably. My brother summed it up when he said that we have had them for nearly 40 years and it is time for both mum and dad to be with the twins.
I have been keeping myself occupied with small tasks like sewing on badges to beaver jumpers etc. I am hoping the insomnia will scarper soon. Thank you all once again.2024 decluttering Campaign

We've had a busy few days. Had DD1 here with DGD in the afternoons and its impossibleto do anythingwith a 12 month old thats in to absolutely everything 🤣. Visited new cousin Tuesday morning. I have been doing the conservatory in bits when I get the chance. I did get a pathway from 1 door to tge other the other day and then stacked the boxes way too high. They all collapsed in front of me and I had to call DH to come and dig me out! Almost got a path pack now. Some stuff gone but still loads in piles for skip, charity, selling, gifting....
