2023 DECLUTTERING CAMPAIGN Mrs SD

Hi All
Do you ever feel that stuff is coming into the house faster than its going out? Particularly when you are working through frogs?? e.g. order new wiper blades, order sticky tape for furniture to dissuade weird cat from scratching, notebook for DH (I will train him to manage his passwords!), paint for bedroom...
Am working on it15 -
92 - 30 minutes going through email box while waiting for a phone call
Big thank you Mrs SD for my most recent medal and your ongoing cheerleadingand for all you group members for sharing the journey x

Hi all! I've just joined and I think this thread will do me the world of good. Tidying is not my forte. Today I'm working from home so I cleaned my kitchen surfaces on my lunch and that's me done for the day

Day off today - Tackled some email frogs / froglets first thing - the effort of which clearly wore me out as I spent most of the rest of the day taking it easy. I've got a fairly social weekend planned so probably not a bad thing to rest today.
I made a decision to get rid of the coat rack in the hall way. Its a lovely item but takes up too much space in my hall - there's only me & DS living here so I am sure we can manage with just having two coats/jackets downstairs & that way they can fit in the Tardis- like cupboard under the stairs. The hallway does look so much more spacious without it.
Tasks:
5 frog /froglet emails
glued stone back in a ring
Checked my pension forecast
IN (running total 42)
0
OUT (running total 245)
246. Gift bag
247. eye shield
248. coat rack
Mrs SD - that's a great idea to make a detailed plan of the maintenance task that's bothering me most! I will follow your advice.

Hi,
Floss, Liverpool-Anne seems to know my brother better than he knows himself. 🤣 I have said I can do some next week as it’s Mil visiting tomorrow and Mr V working Sunday. He also has the lurgy but in the form of cough. So, sitting room curtains taken down and put up in our bedroom. I made them for the last house and still like them. Old bedroom curtains to be donated. Also to take to Oxfam some sheet music of our first dance wedding song. I used it to make wall art. Also a Father Christmas ornament that was my Mum’s in the 30’s. Vgc for his age.I am not going visiting tomorrow, I will make the new sitting room curtains. Honestly.
I have had a lovely chat with DIL about the baby, due August. She is starting to believe it will happen now. They had a dreadful year last year with so much loss. I am fighting myself to not buy masses of stuff for the baby and also not charity shop for it. She is happy to have preloved but she needs to choose her own stuff. I am going to renovate a scandi rocking chair and a pine tallboy for them. I have found a place in Wales where I will arrange for them to plant a tree in baby’s name and they will be able to visit the tree forever. DS will like the fact it is in Wales as his Dad is Welsh.Vx

Spent a long time at SA today getting ready for the table top sale tomorrow. Must have an early night after my shower as I need to be up very early tomorrow.
Mr F helped me with decluttering today - sorted out batteries and took them to a collection point when buying the local paper.

Another week with not much done 😕 on the sorting out front. It’s been a week with social activities on four of the days, and some shopping had to be done on the fifth, including trying to sort out if a prescription item, which the local pharmacy say can’t be supplied until May, can be obtained from anywhere else. It all seems very complicated.
- finished filing this year’s paperwork (using mailing envelopes from subscribed magazine)
- started sorting last year’s paperwork and removed files to Study (that’s where the filing cabinet lives, but it’s beginning to turn into a subsidiary Room of Doom)
- 5 sheets of paper recycled to printer
- 30 ditto to shredding pile
- 10 ditto to recycling bin
- 2 envelopes to recycling bin
- 1 one book regifted- 4 items of gift wrapping recycled around birthday gifts - and given

@vulpix that is really lovely. The tree is a wonderful idea and I am sure the items you renovate will be treasured. Your son and dil and future grandbaby are very lucky to have someone as thoughtful and kind as you. 🥰
We organised the small toys today into the dds new boxes (cuddly ones are a whole different ball game..... we will pick another time to organise them). I have finished the first coat on the walls and am going to call it a night for painting, although I feel I could go for a couple of hours yet!
