Morning all, wow you've all been so busy decluttering I think I've stalled on mine. I'm finding that I'm decluttering one item at a time..still something is better than nothing eh?
Can I add my 2lb weight loss as a declutter? That was a total shock as I thought I had actually put on..lolThrew out 4 magazines, not sure why I keep these things..lol2 more items added to the CS box since last posting..
Thank you for my badge, I shall wear it with pride, once I figure out how it can show on my signature...lol ☺️Mortgage Free as of 20.9.17Declutter challenge 2023, 2024 🏅 🏅⭐️⭐️

For mr sd: mr daisy suggests possible causes can be tyre pressure, unbalanced wheel, squaring off tyre or, most unlikely, headbearings needing greased or replaced (im sure he knows how to check for notchiness in head bearings so dont tell him if he's going to go doh, I already tried all that !! Bike on centre stand, front wheel in air and slowly slowly move handlebar side to side and there should be no crunch or click or catching felt. Whilst its up there spin wheeland rest hand lightly at side - should be able to feel or see any wobble. Youre also checking wheel bearings doing that)
Good luck with it

Morning everybody
Not so much decluttering done lately focusing more on 10 mins tidying here 10 mins shredding (counting as 1 item) there.
I have sorted all cleaning products like with like and, apart from a few staying in the bathroom, they are now all in the kitchen cupboard above the cooker.
I've gathered all the batteries together in one place in a tin in the pantry cupboard so I know what I've got.
I amalgamated some photos which frees up one photo album to go to cs.
I found some clear medium sized plastic bags which I'm using as rubbish bags and sealing with some of the 5 rolls of masking tape I also didn't know I had.
The following items have left the house:
unused Slumming World cookbook to friend
2 pairs secateurs
5 pieces of jewellery
map (recycled)
uud shower gel
uud cleaning product
hair product sample
nail polish
fabric tissue holder
rawl plug/rusty screws
Total: 16 items.
Keep going everybody.

Not much decluttering action going on here. I've come to a point with the house that what most needs doing are repairs, maintenance and upgrading rather than decluttering. I need to get onto those once I fully recover from my op. Partly I feel glad to have recovery as my excuse to put them off as things like that feel way more daunting than decluttering for me....
Tasks:

Not much de-cluttering done here over the last few weeks, been busy with real life and currently off work sick with a cold/chest infection
So in honour of February frogs I have tried to sort some out which can lead into March Madness
Mammogram appointment done and results were clear
Moved dentist appointment as don't feel safe with a dentist poking around and me having a coughing fit
Booked afternoon tea voucher which was a present for my birthday last year for May
Booked health check at Dr's (2 appointments as need bloods doing first then follow up)
Booked car in for service/MOT
Booked charity pick up for a bookcase I found hiding in a cupboard (thought it had already gone), once this is gone I can sort out the rest of the cupboard, hopefully the bookcase it not holding it all back
Phoned sofa company (again) as they haven't delivered the care kit which was promised in Jan
Still need to find a plumber, roofer and landscaper so will do some research or maybe sit in the conservatory and read/sleep

Busy at work so no time for decluttering at the moment; just trying to keep my head above water. I have been working hard on dealing with online accounts when I get the odd minute. Only about 500 of them left to check!2408-2411 - online accounts deleted.2025 decluttering: 3,993🌟🥉🌟💐🏅🏅🌟🥈🏅🌟🏅💐💎🌟🏅🏆🌟🏅

Hi all, I have been busy reading all morning
. I have finally been guilt tripped into changing the bed as ln has a line full out and it is perfect drying weather. 1st load in the machine. I have not remade the bed yet as I have tackled a couple of sweat stains on the matress and am waiting for them to dry. I am never very successful with this process, the stains just seem to spread, what do others use for this? I have a memory foam topper and it takes ages to dry out.
Off to the post office now
Take care everyone

Took a bootful from the garage to the tip, which included a cat bed, two chairs [old wooden ones from the forties] two fence posts, various bits of metal including a bin, much cardboard, a cat scratching post, a unit type thing, bits of wood taken off an old dresser, more bits of wood, part of a cat tower, two bags of general rubbish, polystyrene, solid half bag of postcrete, metal posts a bowl and some other stuff I can't remember. The garage is tidier, all the stuff that was shoved willy nilly now has a home on some shelves I liberated from a skip and everything else is neatly placed about the place.Went to PO on the way back to send an amazon parcel back [ who makes yarn bowls that are rough on the inside?] and stopped off for some doughnuts for a flying visit to OHs mum. Home now and am going to declutter wome wool while crocheting a blanket...Siebre, good luck with your husband, he really needs a tap on the head to reset his common sense....Vukpix, I have leather chair envy...Is that a drum being used as a table? Like it!Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi14

Taff I have yarn bowl envy, but a smooth one. I must ask my hairdresser to ask her husband about one next time,he has made me an oak bowl previously. The chair was a freebie from FB and the guy delivered it! I ousted Mr V's fabric chair as he is just too hard on them. The leather chair is so noisy! Cats and me keep jumping out of our skin when Mr V moves. The drum is a side table, I bought little legs from `Ikea and added hardboard to the bottom. Got some toughened glass cut for the top. Mr V played in a marching band in his formative years, it has made a lovely little table. BTW I have heard of people using a large open coffee mug and thread the wool through the handle. Never tried it myself but yarn bowls are so aesthetically pleasing.
Couldn't sleep last night so got up at 5 and caught an episode of House Doctor on TV. Emptied all the games out of the brown drawers, more than I thought but I am keeping them for now as I always like to be able to entertain any visiting children and I will hopefully be a Granny soon too. Managed to get all but one in the TV drawers. Sorry NDN for the bottom of the Jenga box falling open and contents dropping onto laminate floor at 6am.
I expected to be better, but I'm not, been back to bed for a kip. Mr V has been out to buy a thingy, wire related, we don't need to know.He is mending a speaker. He has unsupervised bought a plastic basket to put the office in the bottom of the big drawers. he measured it and everything! I will have a cull of the office before it goes to it's new home. Office is actually some A4 folders, one for each bill, subject etc.
Energyshifter,I loved the Peace doves.
Radish, finding a good tradesperson is a difficult thing. Good luck.
I still have all the little drawers to go through, don't want to do all the exciting things in one day! I am convalescing by looking at handbags that I don't need on the internet.
I am still surprised that I can still find things to leave. I am secretly aiming for 365 this year.

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks
2. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ I have an acronym - I.R.I.S. being Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off
3. Implement a new sleep/wake up regime - start going to bed earlier (target before 2:00 a.m.) get up earlier (target by 9:00 a.m.)
4. Deal with daily mail immediately
5. Don’t put it down, put it away
6. If I spot a mini task deal with it immediately e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
7. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Thursday is another dark & dreary day ☹️ Up slightly later at 12:15, washed, dressed & sitting down with my first cuppa & have dealt with today’s mail. DH is just about to go shopping. Ooh will you look at that the sun has just come out at 13:15 🥳 Sadly the sunshine only lasted 20 minutes & it is even darker now & there is a really chilly wind ☹️
652 - 653 Two magazines recycled
DH got back 14:00, unloaded bike & I have packed everything away including portioning out meat products 🙂 Yesterday’s freezers sort out has proved beneficial as there was plenty of space to put things away without having to cram it in 🥳 - Done by 14:35 ✅ Also made my 2nd cuppa & decanted foodstuffs from bags to jars 🙂 DH set off on his first walk at 15:10 - target now up to 10,000 steps 😉DSis is still suffering but seems to be sneezing more & coughing less which has prompted me to wash the sofa throw - it might help when she is downstairs 🤞
Excellent decluttering & tidying Liverpool_Anne 👏 Hopefully OH will not notice the poppy seed soap 😉 which of course will mean more bathroom cleaning for you 😔 A bit OTT of BT 😖
Brie well done on decluttering both the food bank box and the painting supplies 👏 The painting supplies were clutter as they were in your home for more than five minutes 🙂
Florenceem, you & Mr F are so generous with your time 👏 and you have had a very busy Wednesday devoted to SA 😊
vulpix, the safe is a stunning piece of furniture & a fine example of your skills at renovation work - Will Kirk eat your heart out 😊
Excellent decluttering Florenceem, more than 2 days ahead again 👏
GrannyKate, I do love the grammar rules in the English language - I do try to remember them but I am in no doubt that a lot of my sentences could be taken two ways 😅 - hopefully the 2nd way is always an amusing way 😉🤞It sounds like only driving DS2’s car round the block was a good decision 😉 What a lovely day - a successful ‘Wellness Wednesday’ as per the ‘La Dolce Vita’ thread 👏 First the haircut & then the walk - pleased to see you amended your steps from 400 to 4000 😉
Excellent ‘frog tickling’ oceanspirit 👏 I do need to follow your example & pick a couple more of my 🐸🐸 to start at least 😉 + I really should get into a regular rhythm of meal planning 😉
weenancy, I was hoping the colder weather had bypassed you 😔 Hopefully the boiler can be repaired quickly & inexpensively 🤞Good luck with the first draft of your book 🍀
Good decluttering skogar - every item out is a win 👏
Loving the conversation about locations, GrannyKate 😊 Sounds like a beautiful part of the country 😊& I do have such fun picking up on a single word & trying to work out where it is 😉
florianatwobob, hope your DB is still improving & will be home soon 🙂 Reading about the peace lily gift took me off on a tangent to ‘Hot Fuzz’ 😂
TC77, poor cat ☹️ hopefully he will have a quick recovery & not object too much to your ministrations 🤞Sending positive vibes to DD1 for successful flat hunting 🙂 although I was a tad annoyed at her current landlord for waiting to do repairs until he had decided to sell up 😖 rather than when DD1 first pointed out the issue 😔 You had a busy Wednesday 👏 Wishing you every success on tackling 🐸🐸🐸
vulpix, the drawers must be classed as an antique by now 😉 If that was your first renovation 🤩 - I think The Repair Shop should be employing you rather than Will 😉 Sounds like you are now in agreement with MrV that the safe should stay - after all it does look like it was meant to be in that particular alcove & you can move paperwork out of the bottom of MrV’s wardrobe 👏😊 I am so pleased to hear that you are starting to feel better ❤️🩹
Natty68, nothing wrong with decluttering one item at a time - that counts as a considered decision & should mean you have no regrets about anything that leaves your home 👏 Absolutely you can count your 2lb weight loss - well done 👏
Thanks for that daisy_1571 👏 Unfortunately it is the 1800 Goldwing which is a very heavy beast (& we only have a small garage ☹️) so DH leaves it to the garage to do all that. Apparently the garage have done a good job as DH has told me that he has to “look for the wiggle now” 🤣 However, thanks for the reminder about checking tyre pressures 👏
Excellent decluttering regnbue 👏 Remember that putting like with like & tidying up is one of the tried & tested methods of decluttering 🙂 you are not only creating space in several areas but the potential time saving is an added bonus as you know where everything is & can lay your hands on it immediately + you can see if/when you need to restock 🥳 I am so impressed that a medal 🏅 is on its way 🙂
EnergyShifter, how great that you have reached ‘Maintenance Decluttering’ a testament to all your hard work 👏 As to your next challenge of repairs, maintenance & upgrading might I suggest picking the one thing that annoys you the most. Then whilst you are still recovering from your op, make a detailed plan of how to tackle said task 🙂 It might make it easier to deal with 🤞
Sorry to hear that you are so unwell Radish72 ☹️ Excellent work ‘tickling so many frogs’ despite the chest infection 👏 one medal 🏅 on its way 🙂 With so many appointments in the pipeline no wonder you have named next month as “March Madness” 😅 - love the name 😊 Fingers crossed that decluttering the bookcase will NOT lead to an avalanche of stuff 🤞I vote for sitting in the conservatory & reading/sleeping 😊 You still have 5 full days to research & book plumber, roofer & landscaper for ‘Action April’ 😉
QueenJess, shame that work is getting in the way of decluttering 😉🙃 but well done on using your very few spare minutes to declutter online accounts 👏
Liverpool_Anne, fancy your In guilt tripping you into washing your bedding - you can go off people 😂only joking 🙃 I removed the sweat stains by using liquid soap on a damp sponge & using a circular motion which seems to have worked but of course the proof will be when I change the bedding next time 🤞
Excellent decluttering -taff 👏 The amount of ‘stuff’ you took to the Tip & the tidying up of the garage has earned you a Gold Star ⭐️ Enjoy your crocheting - you could even do it in the TLC Carriage 😊 I fell off the sofa when I read your message to Siebrie “good luck with your husband, he really needs a tap on the head to reset his common sense” 🤣 Thank you for that 😉
Lovely post vulpix 😊 A drum up cycled to a coffee table - genius 👏🥳 Great work using your 5:00 a.m. wakefulness to do some sorting & tidying 👏 If I was your NDN I probably wouldn’t have heard Jenga pieces hitting the floor - it takes a lot to wake me up when I am asleep 😅 MrV is being awarded a medal 🏅 for such a thoughtful purchase 😊 Sorry to hear that your recovery is not as quick as you would like but I do admire your convalescing method - looking at handbags - Enjoy ☺️
All caught up so am off to make guacamole - not a frog but want to avoid feeding the worms😉 Forgot to ask for tortilla chips when DH went shopping 😔
