@Dfw38 be wary on the soft toy front, my now 18 year old at about 8 or 9 agreed a large pooh bear could go (or so I thought) but she then complained for years that he had been taken, aged about 13 ish I think decided to cull her then around 100 cuddly toys to around 12 but still remembers pooh bear and hasn't forgiven me@Wednesday2000 hope the cupcakes were ok, things seem to come in 3s so hopefully good things next.Haircut..okishQuote from plumberTrying to stop watching vera - keep starting ones and thinking I have seen before but can't remember the ending.Going to look at my list and add so I can be more focused.14

Up early and out to the SA to get set up for the table top sale. Our Ukrainian families made some beautiful cakes and pastries - they had paper plates and serviettes with them but I thought people would want to buy cakes to take home with them. So I scurried back home to collect my food quality paper bags with clear fronts in two sizes - they were very pleased. I will have to order some more food quality bags now.
We were busy at the sale - I did have a table cancellation last night but we used the spare table for SA bits.
We raised £583.03 in 3 hours - really tired now.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Ahh,soft toys. My kids had so many,my Mum used to buy from a car boot sale every week! with the kids permission I collected 2 black bags full of what I thought were the least loved ones and sent them to an appeal for Romanian orphanages in the 90's. Fozzie bear has been missed for many years. I have looked on ebay to replace him and he is a couple of hundred pounds.
LiverpoolAnne, quite a few places do tree planting, mainly to commemorate people passing away. This one does both with several different packages, with a choice of native trees. It also has a little cafe on the farm so you could visit and have a celebration too. I could send you the link if you like.It isn't cheap but easily would be the cost of buying fluffy toys from car boot sales every week for several years! In my research I seem to have found out that Wales offers to plant a free tree for every baby born in the country. Well done the person who thought of that . For their first wedding anniversary I gave DIL and DS an oak sapling in a pot. I grew it the year they got married from an acorn. It was that, that got me thinking about being able to visit a tree over a lifetime. If they plant their sapling out, they may not always live at the same house etc.
With your lurgy, I felt so ill for the first 3 days with mine ,I thought that I had covid again, negative.
TC77,I am exactly the same with detective programmes. I know that i've seen it but not who did it, although I must have seen some of them a dozen times. Sure it would be different with shows with more gritty realism. I enjoy all the Poirot,Midsomer,Vera,Morse,Shetland et al, for the cinematography and houses and manners if nothing else.
Thank you for the photos, always interested to see them.
Curtain making is slow to say the least. I fell asleep again when Mr V left at 8am and only woke when he phoned at 12:30. It has taken me ages to wake up and come round.

One partial bag of bits to the charity shop today.Ran some errands whilst in town including getting my sheepskin slippers resoled! They’ve done many years service and are generally in good condition but the original sole was very brittle. So I decluttered £35 to resole them. Yes I know that is a lot but a like for like replacement would have cost me £90!! I hasten to add I didn’t spend anywhere near that amount when I first bought them at least 5 years ago.✒️ Declutter 2025👗 Fashion on the Ration 2025 61/66 coupons (5 coupons silver boots)✒️Declutter 2024 🏅🏅🏅(DSis 🏅🏅)

My friend wasn't feeling too well and cancelled our meet up today so I ended up having another chill day. Had a long chat with a friend this morning and one with another friend this afternoon while walking around a park that I've not been to for a while.
I've put my coat rack outside but no-one has taken it so far. The longer its there the higher the chance that I will change my mind - I must stay strong. - hoping that someone takes it over the weekend!
Tasks:
Put up better coat hooks in cupboard under the stairs
IN (running total 42)
43. Magnifying glass - very helpful while I'm waiting for decent reading glasses
44. Coat rack
OUT (running total 248)
249. Sweatshirt
250. Face toner thing - never used
251. Laundry hamper - elderly cat mistook for cat litter tray. I cleaned it but can't shift the smell(shame I really liked it!)

Still sick with cold. The weather here isn't helping - only 7C here in California - usually we are the warmest city in the state. Sister had hail at her house yesterday. Rain has temporarily stopped (supposed to be back about 2:00pm).
Temporarily decluttered a roommate - the paramedics had to come and carry him down the stairs. He was still talking to them which was a good sign as they used the bag they usually use for bodies. Hospital is going to keep him for awhile, and maybe send him to a convalescent home while we arrange the house. Have to light a fire under hoarder roommate. The paramedics were horrified by the boxes she has stacked up. If we don't get it cleaned up soon, may have the county step in and help.
Other two (male roommates) have agreed to help clean up what we call the library - used to have books in there when it was just me. Now it is a giant pantry and storeroom. Need to begin room shifting fast. Will probably paint the bookshelves in one bedroom while it is still occupied by one of the roommates - who eventually will be moving upstairs. His stuff is going into the library temporarily after that so we can start moving my stuff into the bedroom. Or may have to put other female roommate in there but it is a smaller room that she has now but has more bookshelves built in. Then I would stay where I am. Faster move, but more trying.
Dog helped declutter again - discover that she loves couscous. Who knew. Ate the entire pack.

Hi all, I still have the lurgy but I feel better today than yesterday. I was up early but had time to give the bathroom and toilet a clean. They both need a deep clean but I didn't have the energy today. Nothing thrown away so that made me feel better as I seem to be on top of that. Joiner arrived on time and set to work with a cup of tea to keep him warm
. I did a bit of a sort out of some paperwork but just filed it, only a few pieces into the recycling. Decluttered some programmes from the planner but annoyingly seem to have lost a few. Joiner finished mid afternoon and I am very happy with what he has done. I grabbed some small offcuts for the log burner and supervised his disposal of other rubbish into the correct bins
. Decluttered some money
.I did throw away a mug that developed a crack when I poured the hot water in to make a cup of tea. I am now listening to the footy on the radio after a scrummy tea of vegan pie, mash and beans
. Tomorrow I will have to get some wood paint and give the new gate a first coat. So
405 cracked mug
Take care everyone

Aaaah! Thank you for the tales of caution @tc77 and @vulpix. Eldest dd is very sentimental and also very emotional at the moment so will be tackled eventually and very carefully. I am tempted to just get a medium size basket for each dc and they can keep some soft toys in there and keep the rest in the loft or somewhere and see how it goes from there.
Hope you feel better soon @Liverpool_Anne. Some fresh air when painting will hopefully help. Sorry to hear your news @weenancyinAmerica, hope all goes well.
I am currently painting the 2nd coat, just having a tea and biscuit break! Just got 2 walls left to paint and then the woodwork and that is another room completed. Aiming to have it all done by Tuesday. Will start ds room next weekend possibly as want to spend evenings organising stuff for tip runs (hence the loft clearout/cleanup) as from 13th March we have to pre-book tip trips no later than 24 hours before and there are lots of people on the local news website and f@cebool groups saying that they are going to book 6+ slots a day but not show up in protest, bunch of blooming numpties 🙄😒. My car should hopefully be fixed Thursday so 'operation extreme tip-run' will begin in earnest Friday morning after the school run 🤞

Thanks for the encouragement, Mrs SD. I had very enjoyable social meet-ups with friends, but I find it just exhausting and it takes a couple of days to recover. Which is a great pity, because they really are very good friends, some of them of over twenty years’ standing.
My shopping day took me in the opposite direction from usual - I needed some special chocolates from a super chocolatier for a birthday present - so I was able to combine that with a visit to a very good independent greengrocer and bought some beautiful fresh fresh fresh vegetables. Which I carried away in a useful fruit box.
That’s where the decluttering connection comes in: I had been going to put it into the garage for Justin to put some of his flowerpots in, but looking at it it was just the right size to pack up some boxes of cleaning supplies which have been hanging around in the kitchen on the table, on top of my dog’s crate, and on a worktop. There are lots of them because they were on special offer last year ... so now they’re all together in the RoD! And I may soon be able to see the top of the kitchen table, since what’s on there belongs in the garden shed end of the garage. Yippee!
I also went to the cemetery to put fresh flowers on my Dad’s grave for his birthday, only to find that some incontinent bird had been roosting in an overhanging tree with predictable disgusting results, requiring a lot of cleanup (I keep a cheap little washing up brush in my cemetery box). But the mess was successfully decluttered. I’ll have to keep an eye on it for a while now.
I’m sorry to read that so many posters have nasty lurgies - there does seem to be a lot of it about, and not a nice thing to have. Get well soon, people.“Tomorrow is another day for decluttering.”Decluttering 2023 🏅🏅🏅🏅⭐️⭐️
