Oh no @short_bird, that must have been devastating. I absolutely wouldn't do that, even if I had to put up with the toys until they moved out. What a lovely picture @DundeeDoll, glad you enjoyed yourself. Yay @roundtuit! I am going to aim for 31 x 23 minutes but am going to be absolutely ruthless and try and do a cupboard/shelf etc within that time or use multiple lots of 23 minutes if needed. Yippee @Fayolle joining us too- like the 3 musketeers 😁🤣
Well 2nd coat done, think it might need a 3rd. Just using the dehumidifier to speed up the drying process - determined to have the blooming room finished tonight!2024 decluttering Campaign

8/25 - speakers and amp returned to in-laws after a long term loan for an unknown forgotten reason. A pair of slippers and a pair of flip flops to the bin. And a pair of new slippers that don't fit to charity recycling.14

Hi all, had a reasonably good day. I went to get the stuff to do the gate and picked up coffee on the way home. I did also call in to the cs as I spotted some yarn through the window. I was looking for a ball of baby blue to have a try at making some booties for the great nephew due, but no luck, however they did have some Christmas colour sparkly yarn which I have a plan for so I did get that. Only 20g balls x4 so will easily fit in my work bag
. That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it
. When I got home I went in to ln as I knew I was going to be busy later with the coffee. OH was on the couch with a bad back. I did comment that it was ok I would do the painting
. Well when I got to it and opened the tin it had separated and even with vigorous mixing it didn't look right so back to the shop and they put it on the paint shaker thing which seems to have sorted it. Back home and the front has had 2 coats, it does dry quite quickly, and 1 coat on the back. Unfortunately the joiner had used some clear sealant on the edges which will help to stop rot but it won't take the paint. I will have to get something to go over that. Anyhow as it was starting to get dark I called it a day. OH appeared at one point with a cup of tea and kindly pointed out the bits where the paint hadn't taken. You really can go off people sometimes
. So the brush has been cleaned and my hands have been scrubbed as I can be a messy painter
. If the weather is kind tomorrow I will try to finish it. I think it will probably need 3 coats as it is all new wood and just seemed to drink it. I think I will claim 1 point for each coat applied as it is quite time consuming.
I have made a cuppa and emptied the kitchen bin which was overflowing, and am now having a sit down looking at my list to see if I can get something else done.
I will also have a catch up with all the posts and hopefully be back later. So
406 kitchen bin emptied
407 1st coat applied
Take care everyone

I have never recovered from my mother giving away my blue bear when I was five - I now have way too many teddy bears - but giving them away hurts. I am trying to give several away every year to the Toys for Tots collections here - but it is hard. Every time I give one away it brings up bad memories. Which lead to other bad memories of parents giving things of mine away or even family things I loved without any warning. Probably the major reason my house is somewhat cluttered with my stuff. But most of it is in boxes right now. Too much of other people's stuff around.
We have decided just to sift two rooms around for now. But I may have to dismantle a bookcase to do it, so we can get everything through the door of the one room especially if a hospital bed is needed. At least I know the room will fit a hospital bed because there has been one in there before. I am planning to sell most of the books on it anyway, but will have to start this week if I can. Still have the lurgy though.
Have managed to declutter one box with 20 books and thirty DVDs in it. It is out in the car ready to go to the library, along with a bag of plastic bags and paper bags for our book sale.
Am going to email the agenda and the minutes to the Vice-President as I won't be able to run the Friends of the Library meeting tomorrow. I email them to the secretary at the library who will run them off for us and get them downstairs for the meeting. Sometimes technology works.
Having a terrible time trying to reach the hospitalized roommate on the phone - nurse's station either doesn't answer or says to call back in ten minutes. Urgh! Tried ten times already.
We are expecting more rain Monday through Thursday with temperatures Wednesday night dropping down to 3C. It has been years since this has happened. Since it will be raining here at the same time, my sister who lives in the foothills will definitely get snow. She has gotten hail a couple of times already. Hopefully this is a case of March coming in like a lion and leaving like a lamb. Would like to get back to normal around here.
When the roommates finally wake up around noon, worse than your hours Mrs. S_D, we have some major work to do.

Trip out to shopping mall (Ugh) with DS2 and small people. Spent a bit but not too much. Need to get boiler people back as definitely something not right with the hot water system. I hate plumbing!

I made it to Church this morning - I didn't get up until 9.40 and the service starts at 10.30.
Our Ukrainian families raised £790 yesterday at the cake sale.
I cooked dinner soon after getting home from Church as I thought I would be too tired to eat later in the day.
I ordered more supplies of clear front paper food bags from Eba. while dinner was cooking.
I felt too tired to attend the afternoon service but Mr F went along. I sat on the bed reading and then had a Nana nap.
Colder here today.
Will report decluttering after another wake up cup of tea.

What a lovely olive tree Mrs SD.Now have a big pile of books ready for the charity shop. There is now quite a bit of space in the bookcases which is good because quite a few of our books are still in the loft so it will be time to get them out and work out which ones to keep and which ones can go to new homes. Also enough space cleared in the bookcases that we now have somewhere to put music. Previously it was in a box which was always in the way.The shoe rack has been assembled and now has shoes in it. Only holds 6 prs but is enough for the commonly used ones. A couple of other pairs have gone to their proper homes and my old pair of walking shoes have finally made it to the bin. They have served be well but now the soles are worn through, stitching is gone in a number of places and the leather will also give up soon too. I have been walking in the replacements for some time so time for them to go now.2024 Fashion on the Ration - 3.5/66.5 coupons remaining1 cardigan - 5 coupons13 prs ankle socks - 13 coupons5 prs leggings - 10 coupons4 prs dungarees - 24 coupons1 cord jacket - 11 couponstotal 63 coupons13

Hi, phew, been curtain wrangling all afternoon The door curtain is up. My problem is I am a perfectionist and fiddle about probably unnecessarily. I have said it before and will say it again, I never want to make curtains ever again.Dundee doll, where is the maze? I went to uni in Dundee, I imagine it wasn’t there back in the dark ages when I was. That event looks lovely.DFW fingers crossed for your family trip out. Getting the Mum onside is a good idea.Weenancy, oh gosh. Please make time to look after yourself. The teddy bear in hospital was originally my great aunt’s. He is well in his 80’s. I just thought he deserved some tlc to preserve him a bit longer. His paws are worn out and his growler broken. He isn’t rare or valuable, just a long standing member of the family. He isn’t ready to come home yet.Granny Kate your record with plumbing has been a trial! Good luck with finally getting it sorted.Mrs SD, I have enjoyed The Piano too.I am sure there was more I wanted to say but I am over tired now.Oh, the window blind was put up with ease by MrV. No divorce needed.Vx:14
